My coworker has a 2zz swapped spider and when I first met him about 4 years ago you could easily get a really nice one for $7-9k or a project one for $3-4k. I wanted to pick one up as driving his car was amazing but I think at the prices now, i'd rather stretch the little extra and get a higher mile s2000.

I bought a Spyder with a disreputable k-swap done for $7k. It has cost me about 9k to get it to the point where it’s going to be actually drivable. These dumb sellers that want 5k+ for a completely wasted shell makes me insane. Back in 2019 you could find a perfect clean roller for about $2k.
I got mine in 2019 for $2k running rough, just needed some hose clamps on the intake. Burned oil like mad but lasted long enough for me to save up for an engine swap. Prices are dumb now
Haha the 2zz Spyder at 6:18 was mine. Ended up selling for $7700 a few days after listing, and my other one for $11,000 a week before. Crazy people are actually paying money for these things

I've driven one of these in the past, and it was honestly fantastic for the price. Super cool as long as they're at least somewhat well-maintained. Definitely a car that can improve a lot from some simple mods, too.

The prices of the MR2s are heartbreaking. Really wish I could have had one as a daily, but it will never happen. Btw, neither of those colors on the itasha was original. Not only is the blue too light and the gray too dark, but they both look like semigloss or matte, neither of which was offered because why would they be.

@@CollectorCarFeed Yeah, I had one of these (pre facelift, same generation) and the effort that went into that wrap is funnier when you understand how much the 2.4L sucks to drive.
