  • Digitized 8mm movie footage of Six Mile Lake, Ontario, taken by my father Hedley Saville during the summers of 1964 and 1965. If you would like to know the names of the people in the movie please contact me. I do not own the music. The songs used are: "We'll Sing In the Sunshine" by Gale Garnett and "Get Together" by the Youngbloods.

Memories of a simpler and happier time. We were part of the Finnish community on the lake, Soderholms, Sorris, Oxinen, Kiehlunkis, Lofgrens. Six Mile was a wonderful place to grow up.

That guy in the Sea Gal, is my uncle Harry Ross Wagar, he used to ferry people across the lakes back then.
He passed away earlier this year (2021) Their cottage was sold off and is called the Tall Pines Compound.

They had to ferry most of the wood for the cottage by boat, Aunt Evelyn told me much of the story when she was still at the cottage. She called it HOME, and the city Condo where they spent the winter.

Evelyn (Woodside) Wagar's father and brother also had cottages on Six Mile Lake....still have a cousin Jen Fortin, on Pretty Channel, there.

And the Boddy family is related to the Wagars, through John Penrose Wagar.

Is that not Paul White driving the boat. He was Herb White's son that had the Marina in the Bay?I grew up in that bay in the 60's.
