The Sea Gal was obtained by Harry Wagar, when his older brother John Penrose Wagar, sold his cottage. It was given back to Carl Wagar, when the Wagar Cottage was sold off.

in the 1960's the Indians of Gibson Reservation, burned a lot of the area, in protest of whites owning property there, My uncles, went and replanted islands in the area.

That guy in the Sea Gal, is my uncle Harry Ross Wagar, he used to ferry people across the lakes back then. He passed away earlier this year (2021) Their cottage was sold off and is called the Tall Pines Compound.

Memories of a simpler and happier time. We were part of the Finnish community on the lake, Soderholms, Sorris, Oxinen, Kiehlunkis, Lofgrens. Six Mile was a wonderful place to grow up.

My grandfather was Jack Traub and his brother Paul had the cottage next to the Langenfelds.

Is that not Paul White driving the boat. He was Herb White's son that had the Marina in the Bay?I grew up in that bay in the 60's.

They had to ferry most of the wood for the cottage by boat, Aunt Evelyn told me much of the story when she was still at the cottage. She called it HOME, and the city Condo where they spent the winter.

I love your video. Harry Wagar is driving the boat. He is our present neighbour at Six Mile. I know him, Evelyn and their children. I have sailed with Harry. He is a great guy and a fantastic neighbour. Our family bought the cottage next door to Harry and Evelyn from Harry's cousin John Wagar in 1967. I would love to chat with you. Can you email me at drew.munro@sympatico.ca so we can get in touch. Thanks for posting!

Nice old video. My family's been on the lake since the early 60's too. Recognized some of the shoreline. Would be great to see more if you have some.
