I'm an American. I like to buy equipment, anything for that matter, from places with high workers standards. US made, Germany, Canada, ETC. I feel countries like these have similar living standards and don't take advantage of workers (as much). Germany is well known for high quality engineering, I have no problem buying from them. I am 1/2 German on my mothers side, my great grandparents came over around 1910 and settled in Michigan.

Germany but also France, Britain and some other European countries are known to produce good equipment for audio. On my side I am a French guy lost in Germany (laughing!). Same as you, I like to buy equipment but only the ones which will last long (quality vs quantity). I also now try to pay attention to where is it made to support some companies rather than others. Cheers!

@@cernus2279 yes, for sure France. I love France. I visited several places in France during my time in the Marines back in the early 90s. I also visited Fr. Guiana. We did a lot of of training with French troops and Navy. They always had the best hot chow on field opps

I guess you have met the Légion Étrangère there. I have a friend who went there for the Ariane program. Tough guys :)

My special package came two days ago. It arrived exactly two days after I ordered it. YEAH! I guess I got lucky. My wife then took it wrapped it up and said I couldn't have it until Christmas. BOOO! DAC. Stay safe and have a great New Year.

So I guess you will have a nice present for Christmas. I am sure you will enjoy it!. The only drawback I could find is the complexity of the menu. But There is a nice user guide coming with it so once you are done with the settings you might want to change, you can just plug your headphones and enjoy the music. Do not forget to install the drivers if you are using a windows machine. For the player, I recommend Audirvana (audirvana.com/). It is really good. You have a 30-day trail to test it. Cheers!

How are u liking this combo? I’m about to get this exactly. Dt1990+rme adi but also gonna get dekoni velour pads+ do tygr300 foam mod.

I think it is a very nice combo but please keep in mind this will be very analytical. I mean this is true for both the RME ADI-2 DAC and the DT1990 Pro.
I will not talk about the TYGR which I like a lot and I use on a daily basis because of the home office.
I find the RME ADI-2 DAC and the DT1990 Pro very detailed. It is a very neutral and analytical listening. Dome might not like it.
Furthermore, the DT1990 Pro generate some fatigue after a while.

@@cernus2279 Great, thanks, analytical is what I’m looking for. Have u used oratory1990 eq on it? Also, in general, is the sound a tad warm at all?
And btw, if u use the dt1990 daily, I’d highly recommend looking into buy the foam they use for the tygr300 and switching it out for the dt1990 (only cost like $4) a few people I saw did it on Reddit and headfi and said it smoothed out the headphone a lot. If you’re into modding ur headphones I’d for sure look into it !

@@spooky1640 Well I did not want to use EQ until 3 days ago when someone mentioned oratory1990 post on reddit with many EQ settings on reddit. I have downloaded a couple of PDFs but did not set anything yet on the ADI-2 DAC. But honestly since I have the HD800S I kind of ignored the other cans I have.
Regarding the foam, I think someone posted a similar comment in one of DMS' reviews. You're absolutely right, I should do it. Thanks for the reminder.
I will also play with the EQ on the ADI-2 but this great DAC is quite complicated, that's the only drawbacks I have found.

@@cernus2279 Yea, I’ve heard the HD800s is great with the rme, glad ur enjoying it! That’s what I’m going towards right now, dt1990 rn, and then use that until I have enough saved up for HD800s lol. And did u completely go thru the instruction manual? I heard the one for this device specifically is actually pretty detailed and helps out a lot.

@@spooky1640 I went through the documentation and the next day everything was already forgotten. I have the user guide next to the dac and I need to check there from time to time. I find it pretty complex.
BTW there some nice videos on the RME channel.
