For such an extremely small paperwork crime they never would’ve prosecuted her in the first place. And if they did, it would’ve been a deferred prosecution. Many people do much worse and actually get less of a punishment. And that’s not even counting that she’s gonna lose her law license almost positively. That’s basically forgone conclusion.
One more thing, How do you commit a financial "crime", with your own money, during a National Emergancy, as a acting District Attorney? Weigh who who brings forth the charge, measure the minds that confirmed prosecution. Who does "that"? I agree that the prosecutions proposed sentence was extreme but for us to react as if a jury of our peers were not convinced that a crime occurred is wild. Being in the position she was in, how could she think that she shouldn’t cross all her T’s and dot all I’s when trying to skirt the COVID hardship policies is also wild.
