Now we all live in a chaotic and troubled world, I listen to music such as this, Which transports me to a heavenly place where there's no violence, profit, Greed,Anger, Just kindness and love, You may call me a dreamer, But I'm not the only one!! Thanks for posting this video🤩👍
Whenever I watch a Yes performance I either get chills or tear up. This time: both. No band can match them. "Turn of the Century " is my all-time favorite song. It's breathtaking.
A lot of bands were founded and had their great times parallel to them. Many were genious, composed breathtaking tracks. Younger bands continue this kind of music until today. But in the end, I can only agree, half a century later Yes are still unmatched.
Do you know this masterpiece: th-cam.com/video/QLhLKLLJOnA/w-d-xo.html ? One of only two progressive long-tracks of bands of the current century, which cope to have a place in my alltime Top Ten between the masters of the 70ies and 80ies.
re. Turn of the Century: I'm with you 200%. As Prog Rock was in danger of extinction from the ravages of Punk, that song (and others like it) was its resurrection.
❤😢a muitos anos procurando por esse conjunto essa música me diz muitas coisas não sei ingres não mais a música me diz 😢😢😢😢eu procurando gente que emoção 🎉
I saw YES in '74 (I was 14) "Topographic Oceans". I've YES so Seattle Coliseum many times. 18 times. Steve Howe autographed ! Then at the Paramount, and YES at the Moore Theater. Alan White said ,"bollocks"... and Chris Squire told me a joke. ;-)
As a young man, I truly believe John Anderson. Was the second coming of jesus christ. I don't mean this in any disrespect to anybody and I am a true Christian.
I am a piano player/composer, and Steve Howe's guitar style has inspired me in so many ways, and inspired so many of my own compositions. I owe him so much for the music that I have written, that I wish there was some way I could communicate that to him.
In defense of original artists they do kinda have to dress up songs because the great majority of attendees know the songs by heart, and can sing them acapella. But I agree, studio versions are slways superior to live, in my not so humble opinion;) At least that’s what I tell the “reactors”. The exception being YES’s cover of Paul Simon’s “America”, I’d been singing America for years acapelle, never missing a note or time signature, before hearing YES’s cover.
When I was young (a very very very long time ago...) I saw this live. It has always been my most favourite song and Jon has been my most favourite singer! Thanks Jon Anderson for singing so beautiful and creating this awesome music!
I love yes too much . A guy with no money at all walking for a cold day in Lima Peru listening this song touching my heart never thought one day he will be in Santa Clara California watching one of my best concert ever the Union . Since now I saw yes several times in Vegas and Dallas . Awesome yes Band .
Thankfully it's Anderson singing ... Only an angel falling directly from heaven could replace him. Forget about the Benoits and Davisons - there is and there will ever be only one Jon Anderson.
Absolutely one of THE most beautiful heavenly songs I have ever heard or ever shall hear on this earth. I was very privileged several times to have seen them perform this several times and wouldn't take anything for those memories! Magnificent!
Me neither! Some of the most absolutely epic memories of my entire 70 year stay here on Earth. Their music changed my life and how I view the world and if anything, that may be an understatement
Even after all these decades this one Yes song still touches the very essence of my being. From '69 till now I've never regretted ranking them as my all time favorite.
I fear there are not only few People who don't like it, there's a big sad bunch who doesn't know it at all and even doesn't know Yes... but Bieber & Co. Let's be happy and thankful, that we have got the education and the previleg to understand, to feel and to enjoy such masterpieces.
A really beautiful song - so much more with orchestral backing! One of my all-time favourite Yes songs!! And only Jon can sing it the way it should be. He still hits those high notes! One of my favourite male singers and this song has a special place in my heart!!
perfectly written song, perfect lineup for Yes, perfect background music...what more can you ask for? 38 years ago I heard this and wore a hole in the vinyl. I still haven't heard anything better! Thank you Yes, for all the great music.
Why I love this song more than any other, the honesty and innocence of it, the notion of soon-too-gone nature of life, the fragility of it, backed by a child orchestra.
When i was 28 years old, i lived one of best experience in my life, i crossed about 3.000 km from São Luís till Rio de Janeiro(in Brazil), only to watch Yes in the Rock in Rio.in 1985 .
Aged like a fine wine - can't believe how clear and strong Anderson's voice is all these years later. Rock and roll hall of fame is artificial and all that, but they put Rush in, time to give these guys their due before more founding members pass on. If nothing else, it provides a venue for fans and fellow musicians alike to say "thanks".
I was kind of 15 when I first listened to this back in early nineties....I thought this was pure magic. Very inspired and peaceful...this song was like silk. Pure beauty. Thanks Yes.
this was an indecipherable record.. but produced this immense moving song.. still does the same thing that it did the first time i heard it when i finally got to this part of the record after almost giving up on it.. it just throws your soul to unknown depths and lifts it to immeasurable heights.. masterpiece..

Watching this again - i think its easy to underestimate just how good Chris Squire is - he plays bass like a lead guitar, fabulous, the way he forms part of the harmony with it
Such an amazing and beautiful song... I was fortunate enough to have seen Yes live in Iowa City in the spring of 1975 when the Relayer album had just come out. They did this song and I swear brought the majority of the Field House to tears, me included. Perfection...absolute perfection.

I'm in total agreement. This is one beautiful piece of musical heaven
you are certainly not alone! That's because you don't know what they're playing here in Brazil!
Que comentário lindo! Penso exatamente como você.
Absolute agree takes me back to my childhood
Steve uses his steel guitar like a human voice.
Jon uses his voice like a musical instrument.
Masterpiece.
Lindo demais
Steve Howe & Chris Squire (R.I.P.) - both such underrated guitarists!
Simply the best musicians where from this era , talent , creative , this brings me back ! Thank you for posting .
Don’t forget Chris Squire
Extremely well said...

Yes, a group of English musicians at the top of their craft. This is beautiful. from a beautiful era of music. Thank you fellas. Timeless
So many great English bands

I shall never understand how YES was able to part Jon Anderson!!! ..... it is a real happiness of seeing him and of hearing him!!!...
I'm so happy to have been born in 1960!!
The most beautiful Yes song ever.
I've cried ever since the day I first bought Relayer when it was released.
This was exactly my experience when I first time listened that album more than 40 years ago. I couldn't almost believe my ears due to that beauty.
@@tomschmidt4355 I want this song to be played at my funeral !
Já pedi a família essa no meu funeral. Minhas cinzas seja jogadas no mar em um lindo por de sol.
The standing ovation is well deserved
One of the greatest live performances of a progressive rock band with orchestra I have ever heard. Wonderful.
I saw YES in '74 (I was 14) "Topographic Oceans".
I've YES so Seattle Coliseum many times. 18 times. Steve Howe autographed !
Then at the Paramount, and YES at the Moore Theater. Alan White said ,"bollocks"... and Chris Squire told me a joke. ;-)
This band is impressive ..this unique sound only the Yes band can achieve !!! This particular song really touches my heart ❤️ !!!!
Simply beautiful song.
i want this played when it's time for me to leave planet Earth
Amen my friend 😮

Don't know why I was thinking the same thing this morning. Thank you for saying that.

long time hero worship for steve howe, a truly stunning guitar god

I saw this live, it was awesome. I still think it is one of the most beautiful things I have witnessed.
What a performance of a very moving piece.
Guys voice hasn’t changed in 30 years! Fantastic!
The first time I saw them in concert, I felt like I was watching something futuristic and ancient at the same time.
What a great live performance with Symphony. Still, to this day the studio version is supreme for me. So much so, it makes me cry each time I hear it.
In defense of original artists they do kinda have to dress up songs because the great majority of attendees know the songs by heart, and can sing them acapella.

This song is like a song my soul wished to hear/express, and finally did.
Very emotional stuff. Used the track, in part, as our wedding march in late 1975. Still brilliant.
I can play this a thousand times, but every time I listen to it I well up. It's beyond special this is
R.I.P Chris Squire....Thank you for all you've done.....
I'm hearing this more defined everyday as I'm beginning my approach toward my final journey upwards into the LIGHT.
Love this song so much that I keep playing it over and over again!!!!
Thankfully it's Anderson singing ... Only an angel falling directly from heaven could replace him. Forget about the Benoits and Davisons - there is and there will ever be only one Jon Anderson.
Yes has written some of the greatest music in my life time.
Agreed!
Man, we lived in a marvelous time😊
Show com a orquestra acompanhando. Lindo demais!!!!
I went to see Yes in Tokyo last week. I wish they’d give Relayer the attention it deserves.
One of my all time yes favorites. Saw them perform this song at Reading rock festival in the 70's

Fantastic a voyage.to heaven. Thank you all. God bless you all.

Well then they are still Yes because the current singer's name is Jon also.
Been listeing to yes when they came out still the most versatal bands of all time. Many moods. And they where why ahead of there time.
For me, this was life-changing music back in the early '70's. It STILL is! The very BEST Yes song.
John sings it with love, the band adds emotion and tears flow. I saw this concert in Concorde Ca. Thank you for posting and thank you YES!
❤️🔥
With this song they have touched something divine. YES!!!
They did that with several songs
