That's not a puzzle, it's a puzzle box. The intention is not to create an interesting series of problems to solve, it's to create something that's difficult to open.

This feels less like a puzzle and more like a vision test.
The simple fact that it can't be solved by spinning it makes it better than a lot of "grandmaster" puzzles.
This doesn't seem like a puzzle as much as a cute hidden compartment. Pushing at exactly the right spot isn't stimulating, it's just kinda boring and impossible to figure out through some kind of clue or feel
Without a clue one would probably be left ..... puzzled.....

Yeah, that's 90% of these "puzzle boxes" - no clues or anything involving actually "solving" it, just tapping on various places till something works. It's so boring and takes no mental energy whatsoever. Just persistence and time.

@@amusedapple4933 sorry to be that guy but a proper puzzle is only trial and error if your not smart enough to solve it. typically puzzles include subtle or not so subtle clues allowing for people to use their brain to solve it

@@happyheliovi8496 that's still a puzzle, whether or not someone gives you a picture or not. The clues would be found with looking at the thing and feeling it also using persistence and time.

Good 1. Termites should quickly zero in on the wood smell coming thru the seams. All seriousness aside, might be fun to lock a few termites inside n time lapse record them breaking out. Course, it could take months.😂
To combat all of the destructive minds, i feel I must remind... Most puzzles like this aren't solved truly until they're in their original state.
Even though it's basically just a tricky stash spot.

If I didn't know it was a puzzle, I say it's a beautiful top. I would leave it on my mantle, displaying it has a work of art.
I like these 3D interlocking wooden puzzles. I have been making them, and collecting them since I got out of school. I have over 300 of these types of puzzles, since I last counted them.

Not much of a puzzle really but a beautiful little piece of craftsmanship
The point is that this is a beautifully made ‘box’, easy or difficult to solve is not important here, the quality of the woodworker who made this is important. Modern people don’t appreciate craftsmanship anymore, such a shame!
This is nice, but not too difficult to construct. You do have glue the wood pieces together and cut/rout out the interior, but once you have the box made, you just put it on a lathe and turn it into a cone, taking most of the seam with it.
The tolerances are very nice though.

At about 0:55 you can see that the two halves are not split directly down the middle. You have to push one piece away from you and pull the other toward you to split the pieces where they interlock from the inside.
You might own it forever and still don't figure out its secret...
Not a puzzle. A container with an unclear opening. I would expect a puzzle to have more than one step.
