    I replaced the 4 puddle door lights with LEDs with lense showing the Lexus logo. Everything else I did just like you showed. Thank you for the video.

    A great way to remove some dome lights and covers is using a suction cup that you would find with a phone repair kit. Usually works like a champ.

      wish I had tried this w my 2019 Prius yesterday! I have gigantic suction cups to take ole skool iMac glass off! I ended up buying a trim toolset & must have taken me an hour. the clear panel on RX350 is clearly gonna be so much easier when it comes time!

    Thanks for showing how to change the interior lights. I did all the interior except the trunk. All three lights in the trunk used Festoon Bulbs. And if anyone has an issue removing the two front under the dash. It is easier to remove the cover (4 clips on the front passenger side and 1 clip & 2 screws on the driver side).
    For the 4 puddle doors lights. I used the Lexus logo. Remove the original and plug the new one in place.

    Thanks for the vid. The hardest bulb to put in was indeed the rear dome (besides taking the cover off), especially positioning the one bulb into that perpendicular opening; fortunate I didn't have to pull down the assembly just took a lot of cursing and bulb dropping until I was able to put it in with pliers.
    I found out that if you hit the light off button on the headliner, those footwell lights would turn off so I don't know why you subject yourself to pain, unless its a 2013 and up RX thing only. The passenger well bulb was burned out anyway, so it was worth it to replace them both.

    • @CarolinaCowboys
      @CarolinaCowboys  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice job! Ya that dome was definitely the hardest one

    Thanks, video was helpful finding how to replace a bulb. Anyway just like at home inside my car i prefer warm white light so replacing to cold white LEDs for me not so good idea :) By the way for DOMES i have used wide knife - worked fine, do not use screwdriver you will damage plastic.

    • @CarolinaCowboys
      @CarolinaCowboys  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya it's a personal preference. For me the light is only something I need when it's dark outside, and I want to be able to see inside. So the LED light really helps me.

    Did mine a few months ago and it made a huge difference !!!!!! You might want to get the Lexus Logo leds for your doors it shines the logo on the ground. The only ones I didn’t get to were the footwell lights. Thanks

  • @Jackoftrades72
    @Jackoftrades72 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    To keep the lights from staying on and prevent burning yourself, open the doors and use a Phillips head screwdriver to push in the latch on each door. Just remember to pull the door handles before trying to close them.

  • @alvinj3530
    @alvinj3530 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I just finished upgrading all the interior led lights and I figured out a way to get the rear passenger dome light installed without having to remove the housing. The trick is to slide the led bulb head first into the groove kind of like changing out batteries for a tv remote since the led head area has some clearance room to slide in from an angle and once you have the bulb pushed in, you should be able to have the entire led inside the compartment and you can use a small pair of tweezer to guide the connector side in and once it’s in the groove, you can just use your hands and push it gently in. Also the plastic prying tool that comes with the led bulbs are a bit too thick. I would recommend to use a guitar pick or a jimmy tool. Makes opening all the plastic covers a breeze and comes off on the first time each time and you won’t have to worry about scratching any of the plastic trim pieces or break any plastic tabs on the cover

    great videos!...are these LEDs dimmable like the incandescent lamps that get removed?... I'm about to do the rear shocks in my 2010...I'm hearing a clunking noise when I go over even a small bump...wondering if there's a bolt loose in the right rear shock assembly, or if the shock ( could be original at 167k miles) is simply giving zero resistance...thoughts? Thanks!

    • @CarolinaCowboys
      @CarolinaCowboys  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, sorry for the late reply I was out of the country. Your bushings could be worn out, or the shock bolt could be loose, check your lug nuts also, or the shock could just be bad. With that many miles, and it's so simple and pretty cheap to replace, it likely would make a noticeable difference in performance and maybe fix the noise as well.
      Regarding the LED's yes I believe they are all dimming as they should be I just never paid attention to it.

      this literally happened to me in a Prius less than 4 yrs old & just finished swapping to LEDs before my next trip.
      Im sure the warm color is exactly why they stick w incandescent bulbs esp on the visor vanity mirror (I debated leaving those esp on the front passenger side!)
