I have mixed feelings about thus filter. I bought one for my tank and it works great. However I bought another one for my son to use on one of his tanks and it has done nothing but cause problems. It was shipped with a broken impeller shaft. Got a replacement and it broke as well. They sent another one and this time the motor wouldn't work, wouldn't even draw power. The company sent him a brand new unit and in 3 days time the impeller shaft broke and the motor won't pump anymore after we put our last impeller shaft on it, same as the previous unit. He got so mad he refused to use it anymore and bought a Fluval FX6. Aquael has got to do a better job of building sturdier equipment. We have never had any issues with any of our Fluval Canister filters like we have had with the Aquael Ultramax 2000.

I disagree. I have had both V1 and V2. V2 does not solve problems from V1 unfortunately. In fact it seems to make it worse specially regarding noise. I am not the only one with this problem, I have come across several people who are experiencing the same thing with V2 and Aquael after sales is simply unreliable at best. For anyone looking at this brand, make your research thoroughly through forums and such. Don't only rely on videos on TH-cam from sellers. You will see by yourself.
