Very, Very good video!! I've had aquariums for a lifetime, and build several filters. But I learned heaps from your two videos. Thank You so muchI now look forward to service my Aquael 2000
I love these filters but they are without doubt the hardest filter to prime, no matter how many times I do the plunger them pipes do not fill with water, it's a tiny trickle at best..the only way I can do it is by filling the pipes with water first using a turkey baster .
Regardless of what the man says in this video do not under any circumstances put floss in the pre filter tray. Doing so will restrict the flow too much and can cause the impeller to suck air into the filter. If the impeller cannot pull in sufficient water flow through the intake section it will pull in air through the seals through cavitation. This is one of the reasons why the manufacturer recommends that you do not restrict the flow using the inlet valve regulator - restricting the inlet flow using dense filter floss has a similar effect.
a great video ..many thanks..

Hi does this filter need unplugged during pwc? And does the inlet need to be under water, i find the flow slow. Thanks
