I’m not sure you still TH-cam.. but you’ve saved my emotions today, so thank you…my ivys leaves went crispy, I pruned them back and now he doesn’t look the same but I’m sure that’s what was right, I’m a new plant dad. And yes your right it does feel devastating when 1minute the plants looks so full off life then the next a little sad, this video has helped me look forward to the next lot of leaves to grow. And not feel so beaten down, now I just need to stop looking at it 24 /7 hehe, thanks for this video it’s great!! X

Has your Ivy ever looked yellowish ? Mines not crispy and dying, it looks like the dark green is fading 😟😔 I even moved it thinking it was from the sun. I live in FL, so it gets hot and humid with scorching sun lol

Same thing happened to my creeping fig (the common plant name). It was in the spring of the year, so I put it with a group of plants under my deck. Made sure I kept it well watered throughout the hot summer. It came back in all it’s former glory. Now I know that this is one plant that likes its soil not wet, but moist.

That's awesome! True! I realized that I had overwatered mine. Hope it's doing super well now!

This happened to me as well and when I was about to salvage it like you did, I noticed it had become completely infested with mealy bugs. It only had around three healthy leaves that were also infested with the bugs. I tried treating it with alcohol but they kept coming back. I had no time to treat it further and there was a high risk that the bugs would spread to the rest of my plants, but I had nowhere else to place the fig, so it ended up dying. I still feel bad about it, they're such beautiful plants. If I ever get a creeping fig again I will use the info in your video to take very good care of it, thank you!!

Awww. I know! I completely understand. It's so weird how we really "feel" for our plant babies. Good news of hope is that I still have this plant. I had to separate a small part of it. The main. "mother" plant passed away, but the baby is still around. I hope you DO get another creeping fig. They truly are such lovely plants to look at.

Will definitely wait for an update with ur ficus pumila. I have which is the variegated one that i'm struggling taking care of. Since i repotted it last week it keeps on giving off yellow leaves.. Like it's telling that it's not happy..

That would probably be bc u reppoted it in winter. Remember to never reppot plants after September until at least end of February when growing season starts again

My poor ivy plant was thriving so wonderfully and got SO SO long over the summer! Then this winter is DRIED out like yours, except there aren’t any pliable areas. I will wait to see if it starts to grow new fresh leaves before I throw it away.

I have a ficus pumila variegata and left it out one day this summer in WAY too much heat. Thought it'd be better to just keep it inside from now on, and it's finally starting to sprout some new life. Gonna have to wait a bit before I can try propagation. One thing to note, if you didn't know... they can be toxic to pets.

I’m crying because my ivy (which is about 4 years old), has started losing its leaves. Now I have a two ft branch without leaves. The very end of the branches have good leaves.
I’m afraid to prune the thick branch. How far back? It’s still very pliable.
    Pls help!

Do you know what would prevent this plant from adhering to a wall? I have planted several and for some reason won't attach. Thank you.

I have the same plant, with the same problem. How long did it take to get back to normal?. This plant likes sun or medium light. How often you water it?.
