Goooo Cardinals😃😃😃😃😃Fedde, under control through next season, is a huge pick up. Now we can go to a 6 man rotation to keep the aging starters as fresh as possible, and now we have a #2 for the playoffs. Also happy with Tommy Pham. Provides good juju and a strong right handed bat off the bench and to spell folks. Win. Win.

12:00.. teams don't know how to keep players healthy? How about not throwing 100?! Why is it all on the team and not on the player? Doesn't the player have some responsibility for staying healthy?
What happens when a player says I don't want to throw 100 bc I'll get hurt? He'll get cut.
Something has to give. This is unsustainable.
And the solution isn't asking for an extension or not play in playoffs.

Crochet is setting himself up for failure by making all these demands. This is the most most innings he's pitched in the majors. This is a recipe for failure. He's going to wear down.

He has, in effect, created an impossible situation for any team that might be interested in him.
"I want to remain a starter" from a guy that has already exceeded his maximum number of innings pitched and has a history of elbow and shoulder problems? If he truly is only trying to protect himself he should be very open to the idea of middle relief/closer work with the occasional spot start.
And then the cherry on top ... "I will not pitch in October unless I get an extension"? What GM in his right mind is going to accede to those demands?

Rays are just being cheap. Everything that happens beyond that is a side effect....of being cheap.
Its why they are getting so many deals done (apposed to a team like Detroit who's holding out for specific prospects) the Rays nain goal is dumping contracts.

  • @markroberts9577

Hey nothing wrong with the Rays getting much young Talent so hopefully by the time the new ballpark opens up they will have much interest and then they can possibly spend a little bit on some quality free agents once the new ballpark opens. As for my Pirates, I don't really expect them to do anything except something minor like getting another guy for the bench

I like Jazz Chisholm as he has a lot of energy and sounds fearless. I have been a lifetime Yankee fan born in 1959. Some of our fans say he brings speed like Mickey Rivers. Rivers though could be a space cadet, sometimes shaky with the glove and a weak throwing arm. Chisholm is very talented defensively almost gold glove caliber. He has a very strong throwing arm as he's also played shortstop. He's not a .290 hitter like Rivers, but Jazz is young enough where he's still developing. BTW, I was taken to games by my parents since 1961. Mantle is my favorite Yankee with Aaron Judge and Juan Soto not too far behind. I want the Yankees to keep Jasson Dominguez. I'm a big Martian believer. If the Yankees trade Ben Rìce they still have Spencer Jones. Poor Florida fans that being Marlins and Rays. It's like a revolving door with players gone before six years pre free agency.

Ever heard the saying “a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush”? Apparently Rays management hasn’t. I’ve been a Rays fan since I moved to Tampa several years ago, but this “scorched earth” policy they’ve done this year is the last straw. I’m going back to my previous team before I moved to Florida: the Orioles. Bonus: I get to keep Eflin on my fan roster… and get rid of a bunch of useless rookies who haven’t proven themselves and who I’ve never heard of. Shame on Rays management who’s going to send a bunch of dedicated fans packing. This is a bridge too far. 😢

Corchett has no leverage... refusing to pitch has CBA/contract issues that can get him in more trouble... if he's hurt.. that's one thing.. if he's healthy.. refusing can get you suspended in ways that makes PED suspensions looking pleasant. Still, Not sure I'd be worried.. he could flame out and be nothing after this year.

15:10... Ken, so only teams are selfish? Players aren't? Stephen strasburg isn't selfish? He's collecting a salary and not doing a damn thing for the team. HE DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO COME TO SPRING TRAINING!
Ken, way to be a unbiased reporter.. you should be ashamed of yourself as a journalist.
Don't take it out on the teams bc you opened your big mouth on the MLB Network.
Look at all these selfish players that can't even run 90 ft to first base. They're too busy looking cool with their gold chains and their freakkng backflips.

Right now he's sitting home collecting millions doing absolutely nothing.
Is it his fault he got hurt?
Yes! A lot more than the team.. Ken just said players know their body more than anyone. Should strasburg have said I'm not going to sign this deal bc I know I'm not going to pitch the entire length of it? Yes. But instead He took the fucking money.
