I got 'you sacrifice sleep to read' and as a mother of 3 let me tell you - YES. Just yes. Would love to see more bookish quizzes, this was a fun video and I'm so glad I found your cosy channel!
One of my red flags for me is if they mention any current social media! As soon as TikTok gets mentioned, I turn it down. It’s referenced everywhere, and it annoys me lol 😂
I got "You Buy More than You Can Read." "Ah, don't we all? Your bank account may judge you, but I am an endless-TBR enabler, so go off! Those bookshelves aren't going to fill themselves!" This is me. 100%. 😂
I got "you DNF like there's no tomorrow" too which is actually really fitting for me because I do butt it makes no sense becaude I answered differently on almost every question??
“You DNF like there’s no tomorrow” and proud of it! If I don’t wanna read it or I don’t have the energy, I’ll put it back on my TBR or ditch it completely 😌
I took the quiz and got “You Forget (Almost) Everything You Read” which I don’t think is true for the most part. Occasionally if I start a series but new books are coming out I’ll reread it so I can understand the context for the new book. But I can remember the plot lines of books from year ago without having to reread them.
Same, but like, I'm not sure it's true? When I interrupt my reading, I generally remember what I'm reading when I pick it back up, even if it's been months. I rarely reread, because my memory is too good. Just, my executive memory is awful, and I will forget to read and where I've put my books.
I got "You'd Rather Live In Books Than In Reality" absolutely correct and I'm not ashamed of it! The world is difficult sometimes and my real world problems don't always have a clear ending, I can see how long a book is and I can detatch if i need to. I remove myself from real life problems with books and i remove myself from book problems with real life, that's probably my red flag.
I also got “You’d rather live in books than reality”! It’s very true. I love enemies to lovers, touch her and die trope with good plot line. I want the angst and spice with adventure and great quotes!! 🥰🤓📖📚
Book Riot quizzes are so fun! My bookish red flag is that I'll breeze through most of a book I'm enjoying, then slow down or stop near the end because I don't want it to be over 😅
I got "you sacrifice sleep to read,' and it said "we'll sleep when we're dead, am i right?" and YES that is SO ACCURATE. When i first saw the title i thought of all the times I stayed up till 3am to finish a book... 😅😂
I got “you forget almost everything you read”. Nope! Not even close. 😂 I think it’s because I clicked on an answer that mentions my love of rereading. I don’t reread because I forget things. I reread because I remember details about a book that make me long to immerse myself in it again.❤
I got this one too, and I don't reread ever. I think it was because I selected that I soon forget about books I lend out. I guess I can't expect a silly quiz to be accurate.
My result was You forget (almost) everything you read: Good for you! You can enjoy books more than once. You reread books you forgot you read before and enjoy them again the second time around. Red flag? More like a blessing! Honestly, pretty accurate for me.
I got "You forget (almost) everything you read" which is a weird result for me. Because it feels like my brain is like a information inferno, things go in, they processed and they're quickly incinerated. In the case of books I've read though..even years ago, If I reread them, the information is always there like a steel trap. I do love a good reading date with meeting someone at a park and just bringing a meal and reading together.
I got the same result as you... but I also don't DNF super often?? 😅 I also answered some of the questions differently so I'm not sure how they came to that conclusion lol
I too got "dnf like there's no tomorrow", and while I dnf a bit, I muddle through way more. Especially if it's an audiobook. Just crank up the speed and find out how it ends.
The come back to it later vs muddle through is the hardest for me. For example, I couldn't muddle through Dune and I finally read it after two attempts but I also think that I wouldn't have read many awesome books if I hadn't muddled through them. Ahh it's so hard to choose hahaha
DNF like there's mord tomorrow. I don't feel like I do it too often, I either have to force myself to read it or forget to pick it up again, but that's what you get studying philology 😅
Whenever I get to a spot that's emotional or confusing, I'll pause and have a conversation with myself about what's happening and where I think it's going. Then jump back in. 😅 If someone is in the room when it happens, they are unintentionally drawn into this conversation.
I got “you DNF like there’s no tomorrow” which is just a call out at this point. Last year I dnf'd a few books in a short space of time, and I just dnf'd a series I was rereading. The series I just wasn't reaching for books 4 or 5, and I want to make sure I'm reading stuff I want to, rather than sticking it out for the sake of completion (I did enjoy the series when I was 16/17, but at (almost) 26 it isn't my chosen genre anymore).
I also got "you DNF like there's no tomorrow" but for me it's actually accurate lol. I am very quick to DNF books, my logic being that if I was meant to read it, I'll keep thinking about that book later down the line, which I take as my sign to give it a second try. If I DNF and forget, I probably did the right thing
Mine was: "You DNF like there's no tmrw" but I only have 11 dnfs over the course of almost 10 years now. I commit to books, soooo that one was actually the opposite
i sacrifice sleep to read....this is soooo true then i wonder why i am always tired and grumpy! haha but i mean I have to adult and work so when re my babies meant to get attention but of my precious evenings!
I got the same Jesse aha but honestly i do dnf, not often but just when I know it isnt going to work out...i have too many books to be stressing over ones i dont like hahah
I love taking these quizzes too! even when they're terrible 😂😂 also your channel makes me laugh and smile, thanks for that 💙💙 I got "You'd Rather Live In Books Than In Reality"
"You DNF like there's tomorrow. As you should! Life's too short to read books you don't like, so embrace that DNFing soul." This is one red flag I am proud of. I would have to finish the book at all costs before. Forced myself out of that habit. I think that old habit is the bigger red flag hahaha.
I was very personally attacked by this quiz XD. I got "You Forget (Almost) Everything You Read" - don't ask me what the book was about or names, I can only tell you about the vibes of the book
Weird! I somehow got DNF Like There's No Tomorrow....which I don't do much at all. Swore I would get Buy More Than I Can Read, which would've been hurtful but true. 🤣🤣
I also got - You DNF like there is no tomorrow. Which is accurate but surprisingly I answered the first question with muddle though cause I’m no quitter because I’m in that position with my current read and so far that is my approach, even though usually I can DNF like there is no tomorrow.
I got “Buy More Than You Could Read” which is equally funny as it is painfully true. I did not read a single book in January, but I bought 43 books 😂😭😭
Yay, a new bookish quiz! My result was: "you'd rather live in books than in reality". Not sure if that is a red flag per se but it is accurate for sure. Thank you for always sharing these fun quizzes!
I got the same, i "dnf" like there's no tomorrow. Which for me is definitely true lol. Sometimes I even do it by accident. Somehow I just completely forget i started reading a book and never come back to it because I forgot lol
i ALWAYS stop reading (unless interrupted) only at like a page break, end of chapter, etc. idk i just cannot stop in the middle of a section it just feels wrong (this is also probably why i hate books formatted with crazy long chapters now that i think of it)
It says I DNF like no tomorrow but I only DNF about 5% of the books I start. And it's giving that result to a lot of people by the looks of it. Whoever made this quiz needs to go back to quiz making school.
I got “you buy more than you can read.” And I just started cackling because yep 🙈 the 250-300 unread books on my shelves would agree with you…I refuse to face that reality that probably will never get to all of them 😅 so yes, I feel attacked!!!! (And these videos or fun, do them if you enjoy them 🤠 not all the time, but they are a good, fun break to mix things up here and there)
Oh no! "You forget (almost) everything you read" I kind of hate that for me. But it's very true. I own what I like and if I don't own I clearly didn't care about it enough... Yeah, I feel weird about this outcome!
"You DNF Like There's No Tomorrow" ... I have literally never in my entire life DNFed a book. (Or, like, three books because of real life issues and I had not time to continue even though I liked them.) But the quiz tried, I guess xD
I got „You forget everything you read, (almost)“ I‘m a bit confused as well. I usually have more trouble remembering my the answers to the science test I just studied for, than I do remembering that one book I read 5 years ago. (Like I remember the entire plot.) This quiz was underwhelming. 😂
My results were- You Buy More Than You Can Read. Which feels true some. I don't buy often but I will put off reading books I think I will enjoy or take my time reading a book.
Just found your channel. You're love for books is just the best! Love your reaction to everything- just so honest. I am a library addict. I'm slowly going to check out 50 books at one time (that's the full amount; I know, right? It'a not enough!). But, then I'll ask for interlibrary loan books and since those show up at random, I'll only check out 40. I'm allowed 10 interlibary loans.
Jesse’s Checklist:
✅ Being Attacked

✅ Being Exposed
got “you DNF like there’s no tomorrow” which is definitely true, if i’m not enjoying it i’m not reading it right then
"You Buy More Than You Can Read" so so true for me.
Same...
Same for me
Same
My result was "You'd rather live in books than reality"
Okay, that would be my red flag. But that's not what I got.
I got the same result 😂
Same
But like, is this really a red flag, tho??? 😂😂
Who wouldn't?
"You Sacrifice Sleep to Read" and with the right book it's definitely accurate.
This should have been mine!
I got the same one and it’s so true! I loveeee reading before bed
"You'd Rather Live In Books Than In Reality" was my result🤩
This was mine as well
same! And I really can't deny it, I have often said this same thing myself lol
Same
I got 'you sacrifice sleep to read' and as a mother of 3 let me tell you - YES. Just yes. Would love to see more bookish quizzes, this was a fun video and I'm so glad I found your cosy channel!
My result was DNF like no tomorrow, too! I've DNF'd a lot of books recently, and it's been so good for me honestly.
One of my red flags for me is if they mention any current social media! As soon as TikTok gets mentioned, I turn it down. It’s referenced everywhere, and it annoys me lol 😂
I am the same way! All the hype has the opposite effect on me 😂
@@LilianaE right??!!! 😂
I got “you DNF like there's no tomorrow” but I don't DNF books normally
Same here. I don't usually dnf, only when I genuinely don't like it, which doesn't happen too often.
Me too. And I answered the first question with "Muddle through...", so how does that fit together? 😅
Same! 😂
Same!
I got the "You Buy More Than You Can Read" result, and it's 100% accurate for me, considering I own over 800 books now....
📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚
I got "You Buy More than You Can Read."
"Ah, don't we all? Your bank account may judge you, but I am an endless-TBR enabler, so go off! Those bookshelves aren't going to fill themselves!"
This is me. 100%. 😂
Why do other people get things I do and I got DNF that I almost never do?
So called out by this result: ‘you buy more than you can read’! Too true!!!!
I got "you DNF like there's no tomorrow" too which is actually really fitting for me because I do butt it makes no sense becaude I answered differently on almost every question??
I got “you DNF like there’s no tomorrow”. So true - there are way too many books I want to read to waste my time on a book I don't click with.
I also got "You DNF like there's no tomorrow" which is so ironic cause i don't think i have ever dnfed a book
“You DNF like there’s no tomorrow” and proud of it! If I don’t wanna read it or I don’t have the energy, I’ll put it back on my TBR or ditch it completely 😌
My result was that I'd rather be reading than be in reality and I'm like...yeah? Isn't that true for every reader? That's why we read.
I took the quiz and I got I DNF… they’re not wrong
I took the quiz and got “You Forget (Almost) Everything You Read” which I don’t think is true for the most part. Occasionally if I start a series but new books are coming out I’ll reread it so I can understand the context for the new book. Same, but like, I'm not sure it's true? When I interrupt my reading, I generally remember what I'm reading when I pick it back up, even if it's been months. I rarely reread, because my memory is too good. Just, my executive memory is awful, and I will forget to read and where I've put my books.
People who remember plot details are elite
"you'd rather live in books than reality"
so true lol
I got "You'd Rather Live In Books Than In Reality" absolutely correct and I'm not ashamed of it!
The world is difficult sometimes and my real world problems don't always have a clear ending, I can see how long a book is and I can detatch if i need to.
I remove myself from real life problems with books and i remove myself from book problems with real life, that's probably my red flag.
I got "You buy more books than you can read' and I've never felt so attacked in my life. Love it
My result was "You DNF Like There's No Tomorrow" aswell. I do dnf alot but I don't know if it's alot
I got "You Forget (Almost) Everything You Read," which is true and why I reread books I loved all the time.
Your reaction to that result was so valid. I was like , hunh- that’s it? 😂
I relate to you about loving quizzes and getting called out
I also got “You’d rather live in books than reality”! It’s very true.
I love enemies to lovers, touch her and die trope with good plot line. I want the angst and spice with adventure and great quotes!! 🥰🤓📖📚
Mine was "We'll sleep when we're dead, am I right?" And I feel called out!
This gave me "You DNF like there's no tomorrow"
I don't. I think i can count the number of books I've DNFed on one hand.
I got “You DNF like there’s no tomorrow” but the reality is I don’t dnf even when i hate what I’m reading lol 😅
”You’d rather live in books than in reality”. ❤
Book Riot quizzes are so fun! My bookish red flag is that I'll breeze through most of a book I'm enjoying, then slow down or stop near the end because I don't want it to be over 😅

Pretty accurate bookish red flag quiz result for me 😂
Totally being called out: "You'd rather live in books than reality"

Same Jesse got the same result and as a moody reader I wouldn’t say I dnf books I just set them aside for like me in 4 years
"You Buy More Than You Can Read" was mine. Which is very accurate.
I got the DNF one, too, but in my case it’s totally accurate! 😂
Whenever I get to a spot that's emotional or confusing, I'll pause and have a conversation with myself about what's happening and where I think it's going. Then jump back in.

I got "you dnf like there's no tomorrow" and since i actually started doing that at the tail-end of last year I'd say it's correct 😊
I got the same Jesse aha but honestly i do dnf, not often but just when I know it isnt going to work out...i have too many books to be stressing over ones i dont like hahah

True😂

I got "You'd Rather Live In Books Than In Reality"
I got "You dnf like there's no tomorrow" and I really don't. Last year I dnf'd like two books from fifty-ish.
I also got the DNF result.
I don't DNF!! I One Direction my books - left on DEFINITELY NOT PERMANENT hiatus!
"You DNF like there's tomorrow. As you should! Life's too short to read books you don't like, so embrace that DNFing soul." This is one red flag I am proud of. I would have to finish the book at all costs before. Forced myself out of that habit. I think that old habit is the bigger red flag hahaha.
I chose “muddle through because I’m no quitter” for the first question and then my result was “DNF like there’s no tomorrow”…. underwhelming indeed.
I somehow got “You DNF like there is no tomorrow” and I rarely DNF a book, i probably dnf a 2 or 3 books last year and one this year
“You buy more books than you can read” but it’s not my fault that I work full time and also watch tv to relax too…..
My Results: “You Buy More Than You Can Read” Which Fits Me Perfectly Lol 😂
I got you sacrifice sleep to read which is very true
I got “you DNF life there’s no tomorrow” but I literally have such a problem w DNF’ing that I need to actively remind myself it’s ok to DNF 😂
This was a quick turnaround from that community post.
