The dancing was really really interesting to watch. I have never seen it before and I hope one day I can see the perfomance in person. I wish you a nice day, Miko.
That's one interesting type of kagura suzu - with a dagger-like blade. Maybe, originally mikos used to dance with a full-sized sword, which later was adorned with bells and eventually had lost the blade itself, leaving only a sword-like hilt and a bells?
Excellent speculation! Ancient priestesses risked their lives to take on the sins of the people and purify them. In Japanese mythology, there are three items that are said to have been handed down from the gods to generations of emperors: the sword, the mirror, and the gadama. They have been handed down from one emperor to another for 2,000 years, but it is said that not even the emperor can see the actual objects.
@@misteryjapan Doesn't the sword was lost in the sea during the battle of Dan-no-Ura? Jewel was lost too, but was said to be recovered later by divers. Btw, dancing with a sword was a common sacred ritual almost in all cultures around the world.
@@misteryjapan Thanks. Was it composed in 1940, wasn't it ? So the music style isn't ancient Heian era version, I think. I studies music sheet of Yamato-maiuta, the music extends some times. I restored and share them on youtube. th-cam.com/play/PLzfsylyAEnpmxlRJWfH9My-87MNATlSes.html
I don't think kagura has the power to defeat demons, but the dances performed by miko (shrine maidens), among others, are meant to be dedicated to the gods.
This video became very popular on the Japanese channel. It was shared by many people.
Very cool vidéo👌

Really nice video, shinto always interested me. And I always loved it when I get to visit some shrine. Hoepfully, one day I will visit this one too.
Thanks for your interest!
Shinto is an important part of Japanese culture and Shinto shrines have a history of over 1000 years!

Who is here from Demon Slayer after searching what Kagura is?
I don't think kagura has the power to defeat demons, but the dances performed by miko (shrine maidens), among others, are meant to be dedicated to the gods.
@@misteryjapan But in Demon Slayer Hinokami Kagura was pretty powerful, though. But again, that's anime.
@@jozefmasny8349 Hinokami Kagura means Dance of The Fire God. Originally, Tanjiro's father would perform it each year to ward off threats and disease.
