Yes there are different dances. Here are the dances I know of - - Miko Kagura (Performed by shrine maidens/priestess [Miko] . It's a god dance with bells or fans) Izumo-ryu Kagura (Performed at Izumo Shrine. It's a purification dance) Yutate Kagura (Performed by Miko and priests. Uses bamboo leaves in hot water) Shishi Kagura (Performed in parades. Uses props to appear and embody a lion) Daikagura (Performed by traveling priests. Lion dances are also used with this. Meant to drive away evil spirits)
Este baile es muy especial Si al ser humano lo visitaron seres de otro universo y esos seres es el gorro Por que esos seres regulan esos rencarnes para que un cuerpo los fabrique El ser que visito es el gorro y indujo que lo fabricaran
I got interested into learning ritual dances since the past few years. Be it the tribal ones, hindi ones and such. I like the concept of Kagura. I’m no Japanese and no Miko so whatever I’ll pull won’t be Kagura, but I wanna try forming a dance fusion style inspired by it. Wish me good luck 😅
@@MrYoshichan Gagaku is the tradition Imperial Court music. It accompanies Bugaku style dance performances. Or maybe it’s the other way around, I can’t remember if the music or the dance came first.

If one would do just a little bit of research on the Miko here there would be an authentic appreciation of what's going on here instead of it degrading into some kind of fetish. The slow trance like dance of the Miko goes back to the shamanistic dimension of the Shinto way. To isolate this dance of the shrine maidens here yes one can easily fetishize it but to take this dance within its holistic context of the Shinto cosmology along with its priests and other ceremonies is to see it's true nature.
@@grosbeak6130 Kagura literally means "spirit dance" & miko is written with the Chinese characters 巫女" shaman female" (although its etymological Japanese pronunciation means "sacred child" 神子), so the direct shamanic roots here are clearly not hidden, especially when they perform the spirit dances. The tree of bells is a classic East Asian shamanic tool for shamans to enter into trance (altered state of concsiousness/ non-ordinary reality). "Shaman female" is officially translated into "shrine maiden" by the Japanese government so Shinto won't appear primitive to westerners, & these modern urban shamans only dance in a ritualised way, instead of the ecstatic "possessed" way their Korean, Mongolian & Siberian sisters (& brothers) still do. Japanese shaman females (usually a part-time job during high school & university years) also are responsible for sweeping & cleaning shrine grounds, selling ofuda (talismans), religious trinkets & other souvenirs at the gift shop.
