As seen by DeSantis’ supposed efforts to appear taller, sadly height is still a factor for some people. We shouldn’t care what a politician looks like, I’d honestly prefer not to know so that way I solely focus on policy.
My mom who's in her 50's, divorced and diabetic turned down a guy just because he was 2 inches shorter than her as though she still has the options she did when she was 20.
@@vegasboy5931 That's a false equivalence. No, women should be able to wear makeup if they want, to feel better about themselves and look the way they want to. Shoe lifts simply look fake and desperate. Makeup takes effort to do well.
I can't believe we live in a heightist society where guys like Trump or DeSantis are considered 'short.' What is even sadder is that tall guys feel like they have to wear height insoles to be even taller. Now, we all know how much women desire tall husbands and sons, but statistics also show that when it comes to elections, the taller a candidate is, the more likely he is to win. Do you wonder which gender votes for a candidate because of his height? Maybe the same gender that supports female politicians not because of their policies, but because of their gender? I wonder if Barron Trump was given hormones/drugs so he could reach his current height. I find it odd that he is a lot taller than any of his relatives, including his deceased grandparents. With a height like his, it's very likely that he could easily win any elections he decides to participate in, since, as I previously said, the taller the candidate, the more likely he is to win.
I don't know if there's any scientific evidence behind this but i theorise that because being very tall is often the defining feature of someone it becomes their biggest insecurity. Like for example if you're very good at a skill and someone better comes along you won't feel special anymore.
Of Neighbours (Van Buren) being one of the shortest is quite amusing considering the main shtick he is remembered for is speaking English as a second language because he was of Dutch descent. The currently average tallest country last I checked.

How have you come to this conclusion from the information given? You're saying that you're taller than somebody who was 5ft6 and shorter than somebody else who was 5ft6.
also trump is old so he lost some height, honestly He is like 6' 1/2" on a good day. Obama stands about 6'2" but people summarize the measurement most presidents don't stand at the exact height listed.
that almost a 1" difference is noticeable as most people don't specify their height so two 5'11" presidents but one is almost 6' while the other's height is exact but looks noticeably shorter also, footwear and posture are important to consider like DeSantis high heels.

Yet the same bias exists in many if not all countries and cultures. It is not as strong as it is in America, but it's there. Hence it is possible to influence it, at least somewhat.
Maybe people would over time make better choices and choose better leaders if the media and average people stopped talking about politicians appearances and focused on politics instead.
Look at this comment section. People are childishly arguing about whether someone is an inch or a half taller or shorter than he says or someone else is. As if it matters...
@@Mire9845It’s not an America thing. America is not old enough to really affect the reason why height is subconsciously considered since that’s millions of years of evolution.
Also, US isn’t close to the top in average height. If you’re going to natural selection, the Dutch have just done their hyper fixation on height much earlier than Americans.

Meh, height is overrated
I'm exactly as tall as him
I have an inch on him.
The average height has gone up more than the Presidents average. All the bunks on the USS Constellation( 1812 war) are significantly shorter than the USS Olympia(1890's Spanish American war) bunks. That includes the Captain's quarters which had ample room for larger bunks on Both ships.

As seen by DeSantis’ supposed efforts to appear taller, sadly height is still a factor for some people. We shouldn’t care what a politician looks like, I’d honestly prefer not to know so that way I solely focus on policy.
Definitely
It is kinda pathetic for DeSantis to use shoe lifts tho, c'mon...just be honest about your height.
My mom who's in her 50's, divorced and diabetic turned down a guy just because he was 2 inches shorter than her as though she still has the options she did when she was 20.

We know for a fact Trump is 6'2. Because if he were actually 6,3, he'd be reporting his height as 6'4.
Circular ahh logic, but that's p real
I think he just walks with that weird puffed out chest thing sometimes so it fluctuates
Depends on if he is wearing his elevator shoes or not.
Biden would forget how tall he is.

3. Sleepaway Camp - either the boiling water kill from the first or that disgusting ass kill of Ally in the second
4. Jeepers Creepers - the end shot
5. Life - either of the first two kills. Kind of a goofy movie but those two are gnarly
6. Killing Spree - an absolute shit box of a film, but the kill of the old lady is shockingly awesome. I think all of the budget went to that one cuz the other kills are TERRIBLE

The last fact is really telling of our society’s culture with relation to politics. We seem to gravitate towards tall, well dressed, handsome men. I believe it’s mainly because we seek some sort of protector from the outside world that will ensure our nation’s safety and security during hardship.
You can get into the psychology of it but it all just boils down to people don't like short and ugly people. Sad truth.
I mean sort of? My point was basically that the American people seek strength in a president and our profile of a strong person comes in a well dressed, tall, handsome man. But this is the president I’m talking about, not everybody
I don't think that's the case. Very few presidents could really be considered conventionally attractive. But with height generally comes confidence which allows people to make it further in life. The same can be said with hair. Most presidents have had a full head of hair.

Science says before you laugh your brain preps your face muscles but I didn't even feel the slightest twitch. 0/10 this joke is so bad I can't believe anyone legally allowed you to be creative at all. The amount of brain power you must have put into that joke has the potential to power every house on Earth. Get a personality and learn how to make jokes, read a book. I'm so disappointed that society has failed as a whole in being able to teach you how to be funny. Honestly if I put in all my power and time to try and make your joke funny it would require Einstein himself to build a device to strap me into so I can be connected to the energy of a billion stars to do it, and even then all that joke would get from people is a subtle scuff. You're lucky i still have the slightest of empathy for you after telling that joke otherwise I would have committed every war crime in the book just to prevent you from attempting any humor ever again. Fun fact Lyndon Johnson was actually the biggest president. He was actually 13 inches.
This man says “I’ll be there shortly” no matter when he thinks he’ll arrive.
LBJ used his size to his advantage. When facing a political opponent he would sometimes use the "Johnson Treatment" as intimidation. He got right up in your face, even yelling.
