I've been using the Ordinary copper peptide for about 5 months...once a day in the morning..i can say, the firming around my eyes and neck have greatly improved! I will continue to use it...i used the original Buffet a couple of years ago and wasn't impressed enough to repurchase.
@@DoctorAnne Sounds good but my confustion is WHEN do we use this product during skin care regiment...after exfoliating? before moisturising or? thanks
I also want to add that the Copper Peptides don't play well with other actives so, if used at night, it needs to be on a night where retinol isn't used. If used during the day, avoid Vit C. Etc. It requires its own dedicated night of use. This can be frustrating for some and might help you decide to buy the original Buffet serum, which is also a fantastic choice, and plays well with others. I skin cycle so it isnt a problem for me to use the Copper Peptides at night on dedicated nights. Also, the Buffet serum has a new name from The Ordinary and I believe it is called the Multi Peptide + HA serum, or some form of that. Thanks for the great video!
Thank you for adding that information. Kind of Stephen recently did an overview of the literature where he pointed out the reactivity of Copper Peptides is more a myth than a fact and that they can be combined, but most brands advise against it in their product desription, so it is definitely something to have in mind.
@@DoctorAnneI use Buffet Plus Copper Peptide before tretinoin and have had no problem with it. I worked up from every other night to every night with the Copper Peptide.
This is exactly why I just stuck with the regular buffet…I use retinol at night and vit c in my morning routine. I wanted a consistent regime that I could implement without it getting overly complicated.
I used Copper peptide and wait for 2-3 minutes to settle it down & sink in , then buffer with normal ph calming serum or either hyaluronic acid ( I used Vichy and hyaluronic work wonders with peptide ) then add retinol ( I used paula's choice 0.3 + Vit C+ bakuchoil ) then moisturizer or ceramide cream to lock in moisture been doing this for over a years already , my skin has never feel better in my life . I don't know why the website state no retinol or vitamin C 😅

I have buffer with copper, Ascorbyl glucocide solution 12 % , Hylauranic acid , 0.5 % retnoil with squalene. All products from the ordinary. I am confused how to incorporate them in skincare for Am & PM ?. .
Without knowing your skin, I can just give general advice: Vitamin C in the mornings, peptides and Hyaluronic Acid whenever you want to and retinoids in the evenings is how it is usually done.
Thanks! When you started about the risk of hair growth I knew this wasn't for me! 😅 I spent and suffered enough to get rid of most of it! I'll stick to my original Buffet😊.

I've been using the buffet serum and noticed right away my skin looks brighter and my skin tone is evening out. So does the buffet help brighten up dull skin too?
If I had to pick one, I would always go for the retinoid. But you can use both on alternating nights, or retinol at night and copper peptides in the mornings.
It's been 2 days that I'm using bufft+ copper peptides...I got red red pimples on my forehead 😢... before i was using simple buffet it was giving me excellent results 😢
Hey doctor. I am 25 but have really dry, flaky, textured skin. I use Cerave salicylic acid face wash and the cerave moisturizing cream. Can I use the buffet with copper with these two product or anyone of them?
I am in my early 50s, lately attracted to the potential of peptides as anti-aging. May I know if the ordinary argireline 10% is an effective solution for aging? Can the ordinary argireline 10% be used with the ordinary buffet + copper peptide 1%?
It can, but more isn't more. The question is what you would consider an effective solution for aging, like what do you want your products to do? And then what are you using already? Peptides are nice, but other things have more evidence behind them.
@@DoctorAnne I have sensitive and fragile skin I guess, I can’t tolerate vitamin c or niacinamide percentage above 2%, and my skin cannot use skincare with slicone(hence I am not able to use any sunscreen because over 98% of them comes with silicone). As such, I don’t even dare to try retinol/retinoid kind of stuffs. This is the main reason I am turning to peptide. I have actually started with cosrx 6 peptides serum(with peptides in low concentration), as a preparation and test before going for high concentration peptides skincare. So far, my skin does not react against the peptides. Fyi, previously I have actually tried the Goodal green tangerine vita c serum and get a shock of my life when my face(near my mouth, about 1cm in diameter) suddenly shrinking and sagging the day after applying the serum. So I am not going to bet it on retinol/retinoid. I am actually worry if the peptide could cause further sagging to be honest. Do you have any option asides from peptide or retinol/retinoid? It sounds like you are already doing everything you can in terms of skincare, if you have a retinoid and sunscreen in your routine. Maybe add an antioxidant and some peptides if you want to, but I doubt they will make a huge difference, at least not hurt term.
so doctor.... you are saying that copper peptides are good for "preventive measures", it does not reverse already saggy skin, it prevents skin to sag more in future. Then, face yoga excersises may be more effective in correcting loose skin and pores, right ?
Use one in the mornings and one at night. It is hard to say which one will be better for you as an individual, but in general Vitamin C has better data on it.
@@DoctorAnne yes, I've been using the density serum for few months and I'm noticing a ton of new growth, even though my hair thinned out from hormonal issues, I frankly wasn't expecting it to work this well! Not exactly. You will probably not be able to see results with the bare eye, but Copper peptides have more research, so they might work better - if that is worth the money though depends on you.
Hello doctor 😊. Is copper peptide suitable for acne prone skin? Can it make acne better or worse? Also, can it help with acne scarring from previous breakouts?
I only just started on 0.5% retinol in squalane,. How would you recommend that I use it and how can I incorporate the buffet with the copper peptides in my routine? Thanks.
I have a dedicated video on how to introduce retinoids into your routine with minimal Irritation, so you might want to check that out for some tips. In regards to the Copper Peptides, use them either in the mornings or on the nights when you don´t use your retinol.
Hi from Canada. I have a question about Buffet + Copper Peptides, does it darken the skin? I heard copper peptides stimulate melanin production as well as collagen. I already have tanned skin, don't want to get any darker. Please let me know your kind thoughts. Thank you
@@shubhanginisachdeva1076 Retinol is not an alternative to peptides. Peptides are a nice to have maybe helpful thing for those that already do everything else. It also depends on what you want to achieve. What is your skin goal?
Copper peptides work best in an alkaline environment and Ascorbic Acid best in an acidic one, so while you can, it is usually not recommended. Vitamin C derivatives are different though.
Hi! Have have hairloss probelm and thinking of buying a type of copper peptide. Have you heard about copper peptide GHK-cu? I don't know if is safe, but it works aginst male pattern hairloss.
The only thing that I know for sure that works against hair loss, and that only in around 65% of the people using it, is Minoxidil. Peptides show promising results, but (to my knowledge) don’t have a certain effect.
Thank you! I didn't know about too many copper peptides. I believe my perricone products have plenty in them so I'm either getting plain buffet or another peptide serum. @@safiasmart8441 I recommend you watch my videos on the different ingredients to get an idea what might work for your concerns and then pick one that has these ingredients. From the few things you have said Niacinamide might be helpful as well as something hydrating.
I think it’s important to mention that you shouldn’t use buffet + copper and vitamin C at the same time! Copper oxidizes the vitamin C and if I understood the study correctly, oxidized vitamin c will have the opposite effect of an antioxidant and will age your skin instead? I’m not 100% sure so if someone can correct me please do.
I don´t completely agree with you here: First it matters a lot which kind of Vitamin C you use. L-Ascorbic Acid is highly reactive and unstable, that is true, but the derivatives aren´t, and they are more commonly used these days. Vitamin C as umbrella term isn´t specific enough, as "Vitamin C" on the label means very different things. The next thing is that L-Ascorbic Acid is present and gets stored in our skin for longer periods of time, so following that argument, you could only ever use Copper Peptides if your skin would be depleted of that, something that hopefully never happens. So while I personally would not recommend mixing the two as in mixing them in the palm of your hand, I think it is perfectly fine to use one, let it absorb completely, and then use the other.
@@Roachlady I always appreciate a good discussion about skincare. Different people will have different opinions on some topics, and that is perfectly fine, so thank you for bringing that up.
They might stimulate hair growth, but the hair loss your husband is experiencing is most likely from the follicles dying off, which I don't think can be stopped or even reversed with peptides.
hey im 20 years old and i wanted to purchase one of them, do you think they help with dehydration and improving the skin barrier? or they just good for anti aging?
I use my Copper Peptides on the nights when I don’t use retinoids, but if that is not an option, you might, but make sure to wait at least 30 minutes in between.
I use Curology 3x per week. Vit C in the am. Heard you should not combine Vit C and the copper. I have the copper peptides but don’t know when to add the peptides?🤷♀️thank you.
I don´t think there is an issue with combining the Vitamin C and the Copper Peptides, I would just make sure that one is completely absorbed before I apply the next. But if you want to be on the safe side, use the Copper Peptides at night when you don´t use the Curology.
@@agneshamerlik7689 I disagree. I know brands often state that, but I have not yet seen any data that would convince me I can’t apply them one after the other. We all have Vitamin C stored in our skin, why would that not be a problem, but the ones you apply first would?
If I was on Lithium Carbonate (300 mg each 8 hours) for over a decade and it caused me acne and acne scars. Is it convenient for me to use cooper peptides or is irrelevant?
That depends on what else you are already using. There are other things like retinoids that might have more impact. Depending on your kind of scars you might need more than skincare anyway, so it is best discussed with a doctor in person.

I read an article from your writing about it and now watching the video too, thank you madam, I would like to ask you only, I am 20 years old, will the original “Buffet” affect the natural production of collagen in my skin and become dependent on the manufactured serum more than the production of what I need naturally? No. Skin doesn't work that way. You can supplement some of the natural production declining, but your skins collagen production is determined by internal factors or things like UV radiation for the majority, not by the skincare you put on top.

@@shivee354 I would personally start with the original Buffet one. Regarding The Ordinary´s products: I haven´t tried them myself, but prefer Retinol over Granactive retinoid.
I have not tried the products myself, but a) they are part of a MLM system, which I am not a fan of in a business sense (that says nothing about their products, but I find them shady) and b) claims to target and alter your genes, which makes it a drug or medicinal procedure by law and not a cosmetic procedure. New subscriber! I love your calm energy 💕 I was wondering about the efficacy of amino acids in skincare versus peptides, by logic I assume that since amino acids are smaller they would work better as they can penetrate deeper, similar to glycolic acid versus mandelic acid, would this be true in this case also? and since they are the building blocks of peptides would they have the same effect? Thank you 😊🙏
Thank you. As for your questions: I don't think we can say for sure, but only because they can penetrate doesn't mean they are more effective. Peptides are messengers, which amino acids not always are, and just like having the building blocks to a key doesn't equal having the key, the same applies here. Some are supposedly soothing though, so no need to write them off either.
@@ninamendz5012 Copper peptides work best in a more alkaline environment, while acids and things like Vitamin C are acidic. I wouldn't suggest mixing them with leave on acids or Vitamin C, but you wash off the cleanser with water, which is more alkaline, so I don't think it is an issue.

I didn't notice any and it isn't a very commonly reported issue, but every skin reacts differently. Usually hair growth is hard to stimulate - if we had a lot of products that cause it, they would probably be marketed with that in mind.
Hi after using the regular buffet, I broke out with comedonal acne. Now I'm eyeing on the copper version because I read somewhere that it doesn't contain castor oil that may be the culprit for my clogged pores. Is this true??

I use the buffet copper and noticed my eye brows grow faster, and fuller.
Interesting. Do you apply it directly to your brows?
@@DoctorAnne I was adding a little extra to my brows at the end of doing my face, just rubbed it in.

Yes, you can, but maybe a more gentle face wash and a richer moisturizer might yield better results than that.
To be honest, I don't think face yoga is very effective and I haven't seen any data on that either.
Can you kindly confirm if the Buffet or Buffet copper can be used under eyes as well?
It can.
Do I need to give up my vitamin c serum to use the buffet? Between the two, which is better to prevent aging.
Use one in the mornings and one at night. It is hard to say which one will be better for you as an individual, but in general Vitamin C has better data on it.

Hello Doc,
Which one has the risk of growing facial hair? Multi peptide serum or buffet + copper peptides (blue one)?
Also, if both have the similar risk, what is its alternative except retinol?
I can't use retinol as I have really sensitive skin.
Both could potentially increase hair growth, but I didn't experience it with either.
@@shubhanginisachdeva1076 Retinol is not an alternative to peptides. Peptides are a nice to have maybe helpful thing for those that already do everything else.
It also depends on what you want to achieve. What is your skin goal?
Can I use vitamin c serum with the copper peptide? Thank you Doc!

@@DoctorAnne ok thank you I heard alot about that
I love this video ❤️I have a question can I use sunscreen before buffet copper or after ?
Sunscreen is the last step in your routine, so you would use it after the Buffet Copper Peptides.
I don´t completely agree with you here:
First it matters a lot which kind of Vitamin C you use.
Doctor Anne thank you for correcting me! I understand better now
@@Roachlady I always appreciate a good discussion about skincare. Different people will have different opinions on some topics, and that is perfectly fine, so thank you for bringing that up.
Can using copper peptide in hair care help regrow your hair I'm asking for my husband that seems to be losing his hair .
They might stimulate hair growth, but the hair loss your husband is experiencing is most likely from the follicles dying off, which I don't think can be stopped or even reversed with peptides.

Copper peptides and vitamin c can't be used at the same time!

Dear Anne.. do you apply them around the eyes? Thank you for your video :)
I apply most of my skin care around my eyes, the exception being acids and Tretinoin.
Hi can I use Cerave SA cleanser while using buffet with copper peptides
Yes.
@@DoctorAnne But I read somewhere that it is not allowed :( thank you for clarifying it ❤️
@@ninamendz5012 Copper peptides work best in a more alkaline environment, while acids and things like Vitamin C are acidic. I wouldn't suggest mixing them with leave on acids or Vitamin C, but you wash off the cleanser with water, which is more alkaline, so I don't think it is an issue.
@@DoctorAnne thank u so much doc 🥰
@@ninamendz5012 Always welcome.
Hi, I'm new to your Chanel. I want to use a product for firming the skin. I lose weight and the skin of my jowl is loose. The copper peptides will help with that?
They might help with firming a little, but retinoids will do more. In general though topical skincare can not worka miracle, you might see subtle results, but they won‘t get rid of loose skin.
@@DoctorAnne thank you, I just order retinoids
@@dianachaverra8260 Make sure you watch my playlist on them for tips and tricks.
Is buffet can be used in rosacea type2 prone skin?
In general yes, but rosacea can react to different things, so it is hard to say for sure. I have a video on rosacea skin here: th-cam.com/video/nbe5Q4xnRU0/w-d-xo.html
Doctor Anne,
I’m so glad I found you.
Thanks a ton for this video.
I’ve been using vit C in my night routines for years now. So could I use cooper peptide in the mornin & keep my vit c in my night routine?
Yes, absolutely.
You use vitamin C at night? Interesting, rarely do I come across someone using at night. I have always used mine in morning. I'd do opposite i'd do copper at night and C in morning.
Thank you (: Does the regular buffet cause hair growth? I have used it before. I have hair growth in my neck I am afraid it was caused by it. Is there proof that the regular buffet also causes hair growth? I would be happy if you know of other products that cause hair growth Warn us. Lucky I saw your video before I bought the Cooper.
It is true that Buffet has hydrogenated castor oil and buffet + copper peptides hasn't, but I am not sure if that is the sole reason for your breakouts. In the end you will need to try and see how your skin reacts.
@@DoctorAnne Thank u so much for noticing my question doc!
thank u very much for your time I rlly appreciate it ❤️
@@ninamendz5012 You are welcome.
Is it safe to use the buffet after apply my vitamin C serum? The one that I have its mix with ferulic acid, vitamin e and 20% vitamin c.
Thank you so much I love the information!
Yes, you can use it after your Vitamin C serum. Which serum is it you are using?
I am using the mad hippie vitamin c serum in the morning. Should I apply the ordinary buffet first or the mad hippie vitamin c first? ❤️thanks so much ❤️
That depends on the texture of the Mad Hippie Serum, but for maximum results use the Vitamin C first.
Is the copper peptide only for face and neck or I can apply it to my under eye bags too?
I use it around my eyes too, but you should always consult the website and see what the manufacturer recommends.
Can the niod copper peptides reduce acne or fade/reduce PIE?
It is not used to treat acne or fade PIE, so I wouldn't use it for that purpose.
I recently noticed my palms turning orange when I started using this product. Has that happened to anyone else?
I certainly didn´t notice that. I it the only new product you are using?
That happens with a reaction to some types of vitamin c and l ascorbic acid, if you are using both products in a short ammount of time between them.
@@SakuraBlossoms44 You mean using a product with L-Ascorbic Acid and then one with a Vitamin C derivative?
@@DoctorAnne yes, i had that reaction of orange hands. Around 6 hours prior to applying a Niod copper peptide serum, i applied a L-ascorbic a cid serum. Indeed is not advisable to use vitamin c products in the same routine with copper peptides.
@@SakuraBlossoms44 Hm, I figured with 6 hours in between there should not have been much left on your hands, you must have washed them several times in between.
Doctor pls suggest acne scarring products to stop scarring i have no acne as i used accutane but have scarring in face surface what to do pls?
I suggest you talk to your treating dermatologist. Different scars need different treatment, so it is best to have someone that knows you and your skin.
Hi this is not about peptides but I cannot get an answer anywhere else my skin is not acne prone or really sensitive and I have normal skin so I don’t want to damage it by doing too much but I do have a few scarring from pimples in the past and hyperpigmentation around the mouth and dull skin so I’m looking for something to really brighten me up to look healthier! Also I noticed that the alpha Arbutin and the niacinamide +zinc have fairly the same benefits... what would be better for me ?
Please address the question ? I have the exact same question ?????
Thank you for the great video. Is the buffet with copper peptides safe to use everyday?
The company recommends using it twice a day, so yes, once a day is perfectly safe.I personally don’t use it everyday because I like to rotate my serums.
@@DoctorAnne So, how do you use it in your routine? thank you!
@@galato4234 I use it around 3-4 times a week in the evenings.
@@DoctorAnne But, do you use with Tretinoin or alternating with Tretinoin?
@@galato4234 Alternating. I try not to combine any actives except Niacinamide and Ceramides with Tretinoin
Great explanation! 😃.. Thank you!!. A question.. Can I use the copper one, along with hyaluronic acid, retinol 1% and niacinamide (all the ones from the ordinary)?... If so.
How should O do it? (specific order?).
All in one night?
@@DoctorAnne yeah 😁 (or, is it better not to use the same night?) 😅
@@ateneagoddess83 The brand advises against combining copper peptides with retinol, so I suggest using these on different nights. The rest can be combined to your liking.
@@DoctorAnne aahh, I didn't know that they advised that 😱.. Thank you!!.. (and.. Do you know which helps most for firmness?.. Because.. I asume that the effect is less if I dont use it everyday?.. In that case, would it be better to just use one?.. (And if so.. For firmness, would it be better the retinol or the buffet+copper?.. Sorry for so many questions ☺️😅)
@@ateneagoddess83 Retinoids have much more data to back their claims up, so in doubt I would go for them. I use my Tretinoin every other night and Copper Peptides on the other nights.
can we mix ghk-cu with lactic acid? and other aha/bha?
I would not mix copper peptides with other actives, but I prefer to err on the side of caution.
Hy...does the buffet one makes my facial hair grow as much as the 1% one ? Thanks so much ! ❤️
Copper Peptides are said to have a stronger effect than the other peptides, but I did not see a difference.
Hello Dr Anne, thanks for the information, always a pleasure listening to you. I have two questions would you be kind enough to answer;
1. What is the minimum age to start using the Ordinary’s Buffet?
2. Can I use it with Azelaic acid?
I think you can mix it with Azelaic Acid if you apply that one first and then let it fully absorb, but the website will tell you not to mix it with any acids.
And the minimum age... There is no harm in using it early on, but I don’t think you need it until you have the rest of your routine in place. I personally think peptides are for people in their 35+ years, before that I would put my money somewhere else.
@@DoctorAnne Thank you so much 😊
@@insha6178 You are welcome.
@@erammerchant5314 You at first need to get the basics right: Do you have a cleanser, a moisturizer and, most important, an SPF already?

i am 25 y.o and i have bit wrinkle on my eyes area what should i use then ??? i still confuse abt it n also worried
A hydrating eye cream. I like the Caffeine Serum by The Inkey List.
I am your new subscriber. I have been using buffet with copper for almost a year, every other day in the morning. Because I use vitamin C serum other days. At night I use my Tritinion. Sometimes I use vitamin C all week in the morning and buffet at night when I am not using my Tretinion. I am 42 years old and love to take care of my skin. It’s hard to see what products are working and need to use more. ?I did notice brightness in my skin. I use timeless vitamin C in the morning with Alpha Arbutin . I try to use Tretinion twice a week. Other days I try to use buffet and niancinamide . I am Still confused how to incorporate chemical exfoliates in my night time skin care? I have lactic acid, 5%, 10%. Aha/bha 30% solution and glycolic acid from The Oridinary. I have used all and experienced no irritation. I have no acne issue, hyperpigmentation or anything else. Just pores, black heads and fine lines.
I do not really exfoliate anymore now that I use my Tretinoin three nights a week, only around that time of the month I maybe go in with one once. Tretinoin does a lot of the work there for you.
Niacinamide can be used every night, it helps the skin adapt to Tretinoin, so you can amp that up. Otherwise it does sound like a great routine.
Doctor Anne thank you so much for the reply. I forgot to mention that I do use Niancimite after I use my buffet. I know I can’t use Niancimite with vitamin C. Can I use Niancimite from The ordinary the night I use my tretinion 0.1%? What chemical exfoliate would you recommend to be added? Maybe once a month? Same as you?
@@virmanifam1989 You can use Vitamin C with Niacinamide, it is a myth that you can´t, but it is actually better used together with the Tretinoin. And for exfoliant, see if you need it at all - if you feel like you do go for a gentler one, like PHAs or maybe Azelaic or Mandelic Acid.
Can you do a comparison between Good Molecules Super Peptide Serum and The Ordinary Buffet?
I can see if I can get the Good Molecules Serum - the Buffet + Copper Peptides is a staple in my routine.
Can Copper Peptides be used along with Vit C?
Yes, but: Copper peptides work best in an alkaline environment, while Ascorbic Acid works best in an acidic one, so you probably get better results when using them at separate times.
Hi Doctor Anne, is buffet + copper peptides safe for micro needling?
As in using it while micro-needling as serum? I wouldn't do that. But I wouldn't use anything other than substances speciically designed for that for microneedling.
@@DoctorAnne what serums (or what substances) do you suggest using while microneedling? I am currently researching the suitable substances for microneedling to remove textured acne scar. So far, I only came up with hyaluronic acids and peptides
@@justedebora4124 To be honest, I don't recommend at home microneedling at all. It should be done by a professional if you ask me as it is easy to do more harm than good.
