Agree. But im thinking of selling my pocket 2 and keep the microphone, stand and lens from the creator combo i think its the same as the pocket 3 combo kit so I can just buy the camera and lower the price to $519 instead of paying $669 for the kit.

There are more than 10 YT videos about the new DJI P3. This is the best review ! Thank you, Suzi! On the Pocket 2 I have problems with wireless transmission. After 10 - 20 min I get a msg about overheating and loose signal. I'm curious about wireless performance with DJI P3.

Just ordered the Creator’s Combo and yes, it is definitely bang for buck. High quality image with a built in gimbal? It will cost even more on the Zv-1 Mk2 + gimbal 😅 Wow oh wow! The image quality is a really big step up from Pocket 2. No more blown out image like before 😆
@@mr.d3051 depends on what u usually shoot with the camera. ZvE10 has bigger sensor, lens option but it is bulkier. OP3 has a gimbal, 1” sensor, good low light and definitely less discreet if using in the public. If u like setting up your camera slowly for a shoot, zve10. But for something on the go and hassle free, OP3 😉
Thank you so much for this stellar review! I own the DJI Pocket 2 and to be honest, I haven't really made the most of it because the pandemic happened after I acquired it. This makes me think twice about getting the Pocket 3 but I do see that this new release offers amazing upgrades, especially due to the 1-inch sensor, better colors, and better tracking. Very enticing. Having said that, I want to point out that as a Pocket 2 owner, I feel sad that DJI has seemingly abandoned the product in terms of firmware updates. I feel like several issues of the Pocket 2, including the skincolor rendition, tracking, and even the overall dynamic range could have been improved via software upgrade. I hope DJI is listening. Anyone that’s used the previous generation Pockets will be excited by the new Activetrack. Its ability to track not only as you moved from side to side but also when you moved away. After many failed attempts Ive given up relying on my Pocket 2 tracking anything moving faster than a slow walk

My P2 is just 3weeks old then DJI give birth to P3 😟😩 P3 does looked great but I can see from the sound test, seems like P3 is slightly, just slightly softer compare to P2 with or without external 🎙️but P3 is definitely better in face tracking. There’s always no perfection in any cameras. Anyway, likely to buy it probably 6m or a year later when price drop🤣 lately had been buying too much cameras, I should stop myself from watching too much “📷” vids😅😅😂 Oh btw, great review nice vid, your son is so cute too😁

DJI as a company has the right combination smart tech and engineering expertise that, when put together produces some of the most successful products out there. Needless to say I’m a big DJI fan boy👍🏼👍🏼😄
This is a great review thank you. Do you happen to know if i can use my DJI Wireless mic 2 with this camera without having to connect the transmitter? My idea is that i would mount this camera onto a tripod using the connection on the bottom, but if i have to connect my dji wireless mic 2 transmitter to the bottom, i wouldn't be able to mount the camera on a tripod. Damn... that DJI Pocket 3 is so awesome. Easy to use and it got almost everything with Camera, GoPro and Iphone combined. The Active Tracking feature is infact so super awesome!!
I like the fact that it is bigger; found the 2 a bit too small. Still I find the whole body structure just a bit awkward to use. Great video btw, but I have to ask: when you say not sponsored does that also mean you have to return the camera once the review is done? If not, then you are getting paid and it does impact your perceived bias at a minimum. My guess (hoping) you are returning it but you should clarify.
Have anyone experience any color flickering on their Dji Pocket 3. Where in the camera adjust the exposure but instead of light, the colors are shifted in extreme manner? I'm worried I got a defective unit😢.
Seems like a really good new camera. My question is whether it's robust enough for hiking and running videos. I suspect it is so long as you don't drop it
I dropped my beloved 2 about 3 feet at Home in rural Ireland shortly before Christmas. The 2 had survived travelling many thousands of miles over to Hong Kong and Bangkok's bustling streets - but it didn't survive a drop of about 3 feet a 10-minute drive from my parents' house! (It slipped out of my pocket as I ran through a hotel car park - that killed the gimbal.) While the cost is steep for me, the 3 is clearly a must-buy for me, as both a replacement and, clearly, a significant upgrade, so I guess things work out okay in the end.

Great video - thank you! That's actually the best review I've seen - the dual video comparisons of the 2 and 3 were especially helpful, and really reinforced the upgrades. I think your video side by sides, there, really helped to showcase the quality upgrades and improvements. I loved my 2 - but accidentally dropping it at home in northwest Ireland recently killed the gimbal (before I knew the 3 existed), but the 3 looks like an essential upgrade (to use all my Christmas present money on), not least with travel to the other side of the world later this year. So, I'll get the 3 in a few weeks - thanks again! 🙏

Creator Combo seems over rated if you already have mics. It's $170 more for 1 mic, couple filters, a $70 battery extender (which this camera recharges to 80% in 16 miin) and a tripod. I'll go $520 for the regular, use my regular duel mic sets, and IF I want an extended battery, Ali express will have them for $40 in weeks.

I was absolutely shocked how much we use it when we travel. The full size has its place but these pocket cameras fill that gap for when you don't have it and your phone just won't cut it. The slow motion feature doesn't help me as it converts the .mp4 to 29.97 fps. In post you have to attempt to speed up by 400% (Premiere Pro) but it looks off.
Thanks for covering this, but I'm a little curious about the still photo abilities. The pocket 2 had 60+ MP stills and this has a 10MP still? I presume that we're comparing Apples and Oranges since I believe the pocket 2 would actually combine 3 frames to build the one still image. Even then, I am wondering if the RAWs from this are at least comparable to a smartphone photo?
Fewer megapixels are beneficial for video due to faster readout speeds of the sensor and typically allow for improved low light and dynamic range. DJI made the right move by significantly reducing the pixel count of the sensor. The Pocket 3 may have just taken the top spot as a truly mobile video camera. However, this device is not meant to capture highly detailed photos you can make prints with or zoom into at will. The still photos should look decent, but the latest phones will almost certainly produce better photos. Smartphone video on the other hand? Meh.
@@seehazy Appreciate the answer. Unfortunately, I rather liked the fact that with the Pocket 2 I could get decent video AND decent stills. Agree that the video on this looks better - but if I have to pull out my phone for photos anyway, then at least for me that negates a lot of the reason to upgrade.

My ancient phone (Pixel 2 XL) still takes reasonably good photos and I can double-tap the power button to immediately open camera and then fire away a picture instantly with volume-down button. Don't need to fiddle with the touch screen at all. Total time to capture photo is less than 5 seconds from pulling out phone to putting back in pocket. Works for me.

as much as I wanted the old pocket models the image quality meant I just stuck with the OSMO phone gimbal had it for a week now and really happy with it - the action cams are not going to be sold off as I can't imagine mounting the Pocket on the motorcycle but the phone gimbal might be passed down to one of the kids

Great and informative video. I'm seriously thinking about getting the creator version now . I was gonna get the new iPhone 15 Pro Max , but since it has all these problems with overheating , burn in screens , etc , I'll just keep my iPhone 11 Pro Max and I guess wait for the 16. I still have the pocket 1 and it's still working great. The pocket 3 seems to have the wow factors but the price tag is a 'wow' by itself😅.
I had the original Pocket too. The image quality is MUCH improved on the Pocket 3.
What this thing can do in that price range is actually outstanding and 100% worth the money.

The transmitter connects wirelessly to the camera. You can use the camera without the transmitter.

Super easy - just flip the screen vertically or power it on with the screen in vertical and you shoot vertically in camera.

Yes but I can do sorta of the same thing with a 40 dollar used Hohem gimbal and S22 phone and I think other gimbals have built in tracking.

as much as I wanted the old pocket models the image quality meant I just stuck with the OSMO phone gimbal had it for a week now and really happy with it - the action cams are not going to be sold off as I can't imagine mounting the Pocket on the motorcycle but the phone gimbal might be passed down to one of the kids

Great and informative video. I'm seriously thinking about getting the creator version now . I was gonna get the new iPhone 15 Pro Max , but since it has all these problems with overheating , burn in screens , etc , I'll just keep my iPhone 11 Pro Max and I guess wait for the 16. It sucks , I was so excited to get the 15 , but nope.

Great video but the gimbal shots are pretty shaky. Looks like you really have to pay attention to your walk with this thing
