I just checked our website listings ( I live in Latvia), average price for iphone 6 (16gb model) is ~1000 ( two months worth of salary) euros. Compare it to the best smartphone on market right now HTC M8 (16 gb model) , which costs ~500 euros.

If I would sign a 2 year contract for iphone six, I would need to pay same ammount monthly as for those 2 phones combined. Which really makes no sense to me, why would I need to pay that ammount of money for a phone, that only now has achieved something that has been achieved by other ompanies for 2-3 years now :)

He's showing how long you have to retrieve your phone from water before it breaks. Second, he's job is to test phones under pressure. Again, not doing it for no reason. Besides, even if people destroy them for no reason, there will be thousands of others that can replace it. I actually by mistake took my iphone with me into a jacuzzi, had it under water for at least a minute before it hit me and i paniced. took it out of the water and turned it off right away as it was still working, then i used a hair blower to blow cold air on it for 15 minutes, then i put it in a bag of rice. then i had it in room temprature for 2 days then i turned it on and it worked perfectly fine :S. one year later a dropped it in the toilet ( had it in my back jean pocket -.-) fiched it up and dryed it with toilet paper and let it turn off and dry 24 hours, still worked after that.. Had it for 3,5 years. now just before it broke, it had a cracked front and back and survived 2 baths hahah

When I first got my iPhone 6 I dropped it into the ocean for about 2-3 seconds . Picked it up and still worked! Amazing this phone lasted that long before it started Wiggin out .

If this were a Galaxy S5 it would have survived over an hour underwater as it is EXTREMELY waterRESISTANT for 30 minutes in 1Metre deep water but unofficial tests have had it last well over an hour in the deep end of a diving pool - would you classify that as a fail as you all expect phones to die underwater? Just wondering. :)

monica guzman Samsung has said and it is common knowledge that the GS5 is ip67 water resistance is able to withstand 30 minutes in 1Metre depth. You are saying it died after being under water (at an unknown depth - the deeper it gets the more pressure is pushed upon anything under water thus less waterproof) Anyway, you are saying that it having lasted over double the maximum time that Samsung says it is able to survive under water for is a negative? It is a positive thing! lol Why do you interpret that as a negative when it is actually a positive? 1 hour underwater then died yet it is only meant to last 30 minutes underwater... Please explain. :)

It is when you like to be around water and not kill your phone in less than 1 minute in an 'oops' moment... :) Also, the point of waterproofing is not just those accidental drops into water - it is to allow you to not limit your life and opens new opportunities such as going to the pool or beach and not worrying about the water also being able to take great videos and pictures underwater then put the phone in your pocket while wet and such is also handy.
Is it just me or would it be more helpful if you did it for say 5 seconds under water then took it out because unless your planning on giving your phone a bath going for 50 seconds doesn't matter but I kinda want to see if it would be ok after some time from being underwater for just 5 seconds
I know but we dont know that if he took it out at 10 seconds that it would work 10 minutes after do we? We know it will last that long submerged but as I said I want to know if it works after its taken out of the water and left, because that's what happens when you actually drop it in the bath ect.

That's not bad. At least if you drop it in water, you have time to save it. It's not as water durable as some other phones. I just watched the Galaxy S6 water test. It lasted 20 minutes no problem. I only need a few seconds to save my phone though.
But what if your kid dropped it in there, without you knowing, you don't know what the future has in store for you. Since the galaxy s6 can last 20 times longer, I think I rather be safe than sorry.

Shvet Maharaj the s6 doesn't claim to be waterproof so therefore no extra cost. Its actually cheaper than the iPhone 6. And it's nice to have a phone that you accidentally drop it into water for a second that it doesn't fry it. I was taking on my iPhone one day when it was raining and one rain drop went down in the headphone jack and it fried it. I pay over $600 for something I'd like for it to be a little more damage proof than that:/

Everyone is like oh a Galaxy 5s is the best phone ever because it's water proof.. Ok so their are water proof cases for iPhone also I had a Galaxy and it sucked.. It's big and sometimes the camera doesn't go on. And you can't fit it in your pocket... So back off I don't think people would line up outside and wait 3 days for a Samsung...

JM Maya The test wasn't exactly fair, they tried to charge the S6 but not the iphone (as far as I can remember). Either way, water damage to any phone will most likely mess with the power jack, so I recommend being careful with charging after water damage.

+IrishhNutshell Mine fell in the toilet, and I gave it to a random store to fix it since it might be cheaper but they couldn't, then when I gave it to apple they refused to replace it for a cheaper price, because someone had already opened the phone and tried fixing it, so my advice is if you're going to replace it for a new phone from apple, DONT TRY TO FIX IT ANYWHERE ELSE
