for those that cant find haimu heartbeat linears in stock, wuque silent linears are re-colours of the switch. Thanks to you they are my absolute favourite switch. I bought some after seeing your video, and i just got 300+ on a black friday sale lol.
Is there possibility you can compare this with Heartbaet along with TTC Silent Frozen V2 and the Kaihl Deep Sea Silent Pro V2. From what I was and heard I would have go for Invokeys Nightshade, but for now I can get 90 switched of TTC for ~USD45.
appreciate the content! I bought some Boba U4S switches years ago, and haven’t really bought silents since then. I feel like if I were to buy more, the heartbeats seem like an easy choice, great to see the comparisons here.
Boba U4 still holds well BTW. Sound, tactility, and feel... all fine. You may be surprised to find new switches to be worse. But yeah, these LICHICX switches are impressive and remind me of Topre switches which I've used for a few years in my Novatouch keyboard and modded with silencing rings.
I think you did an awesome job breaking down the switches and the side by side sound comparison was amazing 😁. I do have one random question for you though....what brand is that keyswitch puller? I really like the design and would love to pick one up for myself!!!
all kind of sillent switchs are super rare. i had to buy a keyboard from wasdkeyboard because i couldnt find a cherry MX silent red switch any where but i didnt regret it they are so silent and i love them.
3:09 If I remember correctly, the bottoming out is between bottom housing's center mast and the underside of the stem. The dampening is provided by the silicon pad in the stem, which is accessible from below.
My favorite manufacturer of silent switches is... Outemu! Silent cream yellows are by far my favorite silent switch and i have tried a lot of them. Basically soundless downstroke but a nice low pitch thud on the upstroke. They however do need a very thorough lube job, especially on the leaves. But then again they are tactiles which is not to everyone's taste and their silent linears have a high pitch upstroke that makes any board sound like a cheap toy.
100% I am moving to cream jades(same as the yellow) from Boba u4. They feel amazing I am spring swapping to a heavier spring. So solid and nice smooth satisfying bump with a satisfying thud. Where do you recommend adding lube as I will do that when I spring swap them. Conscious not to lube the bump.
These are beautiful! I like the slightly lower pitch of the (very quiet) nightshades. Now I want to find out if they have a tactile option, and the grams of typing pressure those require!
Hey can I request you check out and review the Outemu Silent Cream Yellows? They look really cheap and was wondering how you feel how they compare to others.
I have always liked silent switches, not because I need them to be quiet, but because I prefer a softer bottom out. This sound absolutely perfect in that it brings a comfy bottom out without being mushy. I just order them, and I'm really excited to try them out! My go to right out is the Gateron 0 degree switch, so hopefully these are even better!
I'm curious how these would compare to the Gamakay Phoenix switches under the same comparison/test. I'll find out first hand I guess, this video helped me pull the trigger on the Nightshades, thanks! Trying the Kailh Midnight Pros at the moment and I'm not finding them any more quiet than the Phoenix switches. I'm curious how the padding/silencers on the Midnight Pros compare with the Nightshades. If it's the same design then I guess I won't expect much of a difference. The Phoenix don't have anything like that to their design as far as I'm aware, but still manage to be super quiet.
Thanks for review of pretty rare switch as I can see, would be interesting to combine it with tokyo60 for example and see the result, or any other stiff mount
For your research -- There is a small storefront in Shenzhen that works with nearly every Chinese switch and keyboard factory in China. They are in the same neighborhood where all the PCB maker shops are located.
Hello MakerMods! Any plans on reviewing some Boba U4 Silent switches? They seem to be the benchmark, that other silent switches have to compete with, in order to stay relevant. Cheers!
They're tactile not linear. I have them on my work board, they're okay but I am actually swapping them for outemu cream yellow/jade 5 pins and they feel much nicer, full rounded bump and have a solid thud. They're so much cheaper as well.
@@42degrees86 very interesting. What were your main caveats with the boba u4's? I simply love mine, so I can't imagine a better silent tactile out there.
They just feel a bit crunchy and sound scratchy in comparison. The outemu has a decent bump at the top with no pre travel as well, super solid feeling virtually no wobble at all whereas the Boba feels a little rattly in comparison( maybe partly to do with the sharp bump). Sorry for all the random descriptions hahaha Don't get me wrong they're still a great silent switch but like another poster on here who also is a fan of outemu creams they are just really good. I have some u4t on the way for the home board so will be interesting to compare to the u4.
Great video! I actually picked up Haimu Heartbeat linears after watching your video on those when it launched, as I always wanted to try a silent switch but was afraid of the rubber/silicone becoming sticky after lubing. Was wondering what switch puller was that? Looks awesome!
Just posting this message especially people who are interested in the switch puller thats being used. i believe its TX Aluminium CNC Switch Puller. I don't own one personally but i read some reviews on it looks like a mixed bag. Looks great but functionally wise not great.
Very interesting video! One of the discord users was very rude with their feedback on your haimu video. I don't think any of your videos deserves that kind of a response.
Hi, I was that rude person, If i'm honest, I didn't know they were in the server, but we had a good discussion about that video afterward, I still stand by my conclusion, the bottom holes don't contribute to the silencing of haimus, but him actively responding to my rude feedback really did turn around my opinion of the video.
I have both switches and I found the nightshade switches actually have loud topping out sounds (upstroke was poppy). It wasn't really silent. Haimu heartbeats on the other hand were way more quieter.
For pretty much the same performance has Heartbeats, why would you spend over twice as much per switch? In my opinion, Haimu still makes the top silent switches.
for those that cant find haimu heartbeat linears in stock, wuque silent linears are re-colours of the switch.
Thanks to you they are my absolute favourite switch. I bought some after seeing your video, and i just got 300+ on a black friday sale lol.
The Haimu Geon Silent Reds are essentially the same switch as well. Of the three, I would still pick heartbeats as the best.
Cannonkeys has them in stock currently
Do you know what the actuation force of the heartbeat linears is? I can’t find that info anywhere.
@@kinglanky2424 I don't know exactly but I would guess around 55g since the bottom out is 65g.
I bought the Heartbeat after watching your review and they are my favourite switches. About enough for two full builds. May try these out.

lichix raws are similar and i love that they have a medium tactile option. medium tactile silents are oddly very very rare!
all kind of sillent switchs are super rare. i had to buy a keyboard from wasdkeyboard because i couldnt find a cherry MX silent red switch any where but i didnt regret it they are so silent and i love them.
@@Rayu25Demon I'm not sure what you mean. Maybe they're rare in your region? There's also AliExpress. They're not uncommon at all

Non-squishy Silent Switches with cop car dome mod would be bomb. Can't wait to see the top-mount LICHICX silent test!

yea i have silent limes, insanely good especially for the price. i love the bump as well :)

@@42degrees86 Just the stem rails and on the inside of the leaves to mute pinging.

At 2:16 the sound is similar to a akko haze pink. But I think akko fairy is much quieter.

How does it compare to the TTC Silent Frozens?
lol whys nobody acknowledging the random xmas discord ringtone at 4:06
Great Video!
Do you edit them yourself?

I prefer Cherry Silent stem combined with Gateron Box Ink housing, curious what you think about this combo compared to these two types of switches.
Are these a recolor of the Lucy?
All the same specs except the travel distance is different (3.7 on Lucy vs 4.0 on Nightshade). The Lichicx Gentle is a 1:1 recolor tho.
What is that switch puller?

isn't this the same silencing mechanism used in ttc switches?
That is the coolest freakin switch puller I have ever seen, do you happen to recall where you got it?
It called TX Aluminium CNC Switch Puller. I have read couple of reviews on it people are saying it's not that great.
@ChiefBrianIrons oh dang that's a shame, thank you!
i have these on my gmk67, and boy are they great for night gaming when u need to be quiet but that satifying muffled typing thod.

nightshade sounded deeper than haimu that is kindy clicky
