I believe the interlocking bricks on the roads, erodes Banana Island of its sheer beauty, sadly, this is also the case in Eko Atlantic city!
A smooth well paved roads with black tar asphalt would make the houses and green areas pop out more!
That's why Ikoyi still has its charm!
Interlocked brick roads gives off a more industrial estate look!

Honestly this place is kind of over hyped o. From drones, it looks better. I mean how can a super rich area still have access roads with open gutters. From the sands beside the road, I can easily tell how flooding it can be during rainy season.
For me, the best (richest) neighborhood to live still remains eko Atlantic City. I mean the place is world class❤️

Sometimes, people like you moan and complain like as if any problems you observe on the video are the fault of the vlogger!😂😂😂
Vlogger just dey do him own, he is not responsible for the open gutters in Ikoyi!

@@aframaco9491 that's far from it bro😅. I mean if you read my comment properly you should understand that I was speaking to the so call rich in that area. I mean what makes a place rich when exactly what we see in poor area are the same. Funny!!😅

@@princennn397 Yes yes I get it! You are not wrong at all!
The truth is I have similar complains !
Actually that's why I praise and subscribe to vloggers such as 153 UnOrthodox because by omission or commission, videos such as these would eventually get to be viewed by critics and mavericks alike!
Our problem in Nigeria is the chronically glaring absence of local or municipal governments or authorities on ground!
Especially in Lagos, we genuinely need proactive civic administrations that would tackle the myriad of problems at the grassroots level!
Open gutters, blocked canals, knocked over lampposts, filthy markets, drooping electric cables, stripped railings from off the bridges and flyovers, shouldn't be on the " To do" list of the state governor in Alausa!
It should be or it ought to be on table of the local government chairman or woman!
      Sadly, this remains our plight!
Our state governors preen around like imperial emperors and warlords !
They do not want local governments to thrive, they want to dominate them and only seem to use such offices to bolster their own electoral ambitions!
Despite Nigeria constitutionally having 3 tiers of government, it's only good on paper!
Assembly members in all our state assemblies are another bunch of wet sloppy ar*e wipes , they are just getting paid for doing "sweet FA"!.
None of them seem to push any meaningful agendas to better the lives of their constituents!
Until we get it right at the grassroots level, I am afraid open sewers and gutters would be our bane for a long time yet!

Banana Island with unpaved sidewalks…Really pathetic to watch all these hypes about Banana Island..People just focus on apartment buildings and private residences, but ignore the sidewalks that look out of place…I live United States and I can tell you that Banana Island is garbage..Buildings and private residences aren’t the only things that make a city beautiful…Google 10 most beautiful cities in Africa and you see that no city from Nigeria made to the top 10…It’s high time we focused on calling our politicians to use our resources to develop our nation instead of all these false hypes….
