This one man dev, Thompson, is carving out an incredible niche and well reviewed catalogue. And he’s been super responsive. During my playthrough of his previous games Sheepo and then Islet, both excellent, i had quesrions and suggestions and Kyle Thompson was on the forums, talking directly to fans. Even told me to send him screenshot at one point so he could help me and look into a patch fix. Don’t get this from sat, EA. The fact that his prior games are simple in terms of depth yet insanely fun and always feel so good is icing on top. Feel like this game is culmination of all his prior work. Can’t wait to play.
Great review, sold me! Last metroidvania I played was Minishoot Adventures, so I'm down for another which isn't too hard. Glad to hear the characters are well written.
Looks interesting. Gimme more metroidvanias. This reminds me of another metroidvania "death's door" where you a young crow who's a newbie reaper who recently join the commission to collect the souls of beings who are past their life time but refuse to die. So they cheated death in different ways. It's up to you to return the balance of souls.
I finish it some hours ago, and its a very very solid metroidvania. And the thing that can reveal secrets using the "coin" of the game its a huge plus to can do the 100% without lose your mind xD A great experience so totally a must comfy play :3

I’ve been following this game for a little while and it popped up on my steam. I’m glad to see someone reviewing it. It looks great!
it had the misfortune of launching during a Nintendo Direct lol
Me too!

Just bought it yesterday. This game is awesome! Soooo much fun.
It’s like a mix of hyper light drifter and deaths door

Been playing the demo on ps5 and it's amazing
or is that MaoMao changing his name. From Pure Heart?
amazing rev ass usual
Look it is Jiji from Kiki
Maybe it's the cat protagonist but it reminds me of Demontower from Night in the Woods
So when did we start calling anything but side scrollers as metroidvanias? I must have missed that one. This is more Zelda than anything.
Doesn't have to be a side scroller to be a metroidvania.
Dark souls games are legitimately metroidvanias. Idk what you’re on about.
Once we realized that genres can't be defined by one single property, not even one category of properties.
Play Death's Door instead.
Death Door is great. It’s one of those games I want to play more of every time it’s mentioned. You should probably play both :) - Azario
Exactly! 🤷🏻🤦🏻. Just play both. They're not huge open world games, with over 100 hours of gameplay 😅. They're affordable too.
Already did. Now I'm going to play this.
Good concept, the artstyle is not for me
Halfway through and I’m loving every minute.
