Don’t forget to subscribe for more videos about CORNWALL and Falmouth I sometimes visit St Ives Cornwall and Padstow Cornwall too. Come here for everything from travel recommendations to beach reviews such as Perranporth Beach Cornwall. I also LOVE EXPLORING Cornwall’s coast line and the South West Coastal Path. Thank you for watching and commenting and liking the video.
Love the van build. Watching you work on sealing the roof, I feel you may have a future icing cakes! Glad to see Charlie come to check up on progress. Just wait until he is working alongside you sighing and rolling his eyes......Stay well and safe all of you. Thanks for sharing x
Thanks Joanna
Make sure you buy a security device for the OBD port (below steering wheel right side)either put a tracker on it or apple air tag.Lots of vans of this model are now getting stolen in seconds.
Good advice
Little man has grown quick wow!!! All the best mate, loving the videos
Thanks 👍
Good idea to get the roof rack up first and unless you're 10ft tall, no one is going to care what the sealant looks like. I'd be laying it on thick as well to make sure you I don't have to do it again. Great work Mate.
Thanks mate
Highlight... the yawn. Just such a perfect bub!
As far as the van, going well. It's all these finer points someone like me wouldn't even think of.
Thank you
loved the timelapse... I love a cloudy timelapse
Great job!! Thanks for sharing..
Thanks for watching!
Water finds its way in the tiniest of holes, you can never do too much waterproofing. Hammerite is good stuff, I've used it on vehicles & many other rusted applications & as long as you follow the instructions it's very successful.
Exactly with things like this you have to get it right else it’s pointless doing it
I’m converting a van and this is my next step…sealing leaking roof seals…and now I know what to do..Thanks! 🙂
Glad to help!
Looks awesome well done, baby is cute
Thanks so much 😊
Another great video, always good to view hints and tips as well as great information when it comes to converting a Van
Looking forward to next week 🤙🏻🍊
Glad you enjoyed it
@@LoveSundays always, I think I need to upgrade to a bigger Van soon myself
In my opinion, you can never waterproof the roof too much, it's the detail at this point that will pay dividends in the long run, the roof rack looks amazing and very robust.
Thanks Keith
She's coming along nicely ! Well done 😉👍🏴
Thanks Phil
That insulation job was immense, best I’ve seen! 🤙 I would of sorted the roof first though! No leaks then crack on pard.....
Another good video to watch Shaun. How frustrating for you with all that blinkin' rain! Love the roof rack.. Pleased Kate and Charlie came along to see you. Hope family life is going well…don’t stay up too late editing footage…you need your sleep too 😉 Babies (and wives 😂) can be tiring! Take care 😀
I feel like as these videos go on you slowly see the bags under my eyes get bigger and bigger 😂
Loving the Cornish weather!
Beautiful views from the roof of your van, when you are not in the cloud!
As others have mentioned great idea to get the roof rack on first, though having a small piece of wood to sit on might have made the job more comfortable - probably more useful advice for when you get to work on the roof in better weather (cutting the hole for your fan / fitting the solar panels) as it didn't look like you were still for very long in this video!
The best part was seeing Kate and Charlie coming to inspect the work (or check you'd not been blown away!) ... be good to see more of them when they are ready to appear / when the van is closer to ready for them to be comfortable
I'm hoping April brings you better weather to work in
I can see my house in this one...🤠
Nice sturdy roof rack, decent job with all the fixings too, and yeah usually messy works. Loving it! I’ve got a 24” smart to on a swing mount with a small PC on the back too. If that’s something you would do, I can send links!
Send the links on here Mark even if it’s not something for me someone else may benefit from it 👍
@@LoveSundays the links I sent disappeared so I will type what to search for instead

Great roof rack shaun them plugs always leak. Can i say i would have got a sander on the rust bits then treat with rust killer then paint, it will come back to bite you in the coming months. And when the decking is down you wont be able to get to it, i would do it now just a comment. Love seeing your build stay safe 👍
I’ll have to keep an eye on it I guess
Really enjoying this build, Sundays can’t come around soon enough.
Thanks Anthony
Great video, I liked the ‘day 13’ sign writing and drone footage, really appreciate the editing that goes into your videos
Proper job!
Thank you
The roof rack looks the business doesn't it. Nice job.
Thank you
Really good work Shaun, it's better to get it all done properly the first time, What a view you will have when the deck is put on! Keep up the good work, Charlie steals the show! Rgds Alan
Thanks Alan
Glad to see the van taking shape I am truly loving these videos 😀
Thanks Stewart
Great job of that lot and yeh, having the roof rack on first was a good idea 👍🏻
Cheers Richard
I know what u mean about the rain here in the UK. Twice yesterday I went down the garden to the shed to get the mower out and twice it started raining so I gave up for now. Xx your baby boy is so cute xx
Another top video Shaun really good to see the progress you are making 👍. Also good to see the little man is keeping an eye on you 👶
Thanks Nigel
Great job! Sooo many details... I am impressed 😊
Thanks Torunn
That sure was a successful day mate and the roof rack looks awesome on your van :) good to see Charlie as well 🙏🏻🤠
Thanks 👍
Looking good Shaun, i'm glad its not just us up country that have had weeks of rain none stop mate.

Thanks Jimmy
It's really coming along now Shaun, really enjoying watching it progress each week 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Thanks for workshop video lovly Hello from Lolland Denmark xpost Bjarne 🌐🇬🇧🇩🇰
Great video and what lovely views you have from the roof of your van. Cornwall life is treating us well :)
Yeah the weather has been pretty naff latlety
Annoying isn’t it Terry
How cute is your little boy! Fair play for fitting in some can work too x
Thank you! 😊
I used this stuff called BUTYL sealent, worked a treat, and that was two years ago now.
I’ll check that stuff out
Great video - honest and useful too!
Hi Shaun. It’s coming together nicely mate and it’s looking good buddy.. oh and we have a date for a meeting to find out the meaderys fait. 11th may so we need to keep everything crossed that day 😊
🤞 Jon really hope it goes well
@@LoveSundays let’s hope so shaun.
Another great vlog van build, thanks for sharing 🌊🏄♂️🚐
Glad you enjoyed it
Butyl tape and self leveling lap sealant works best for anything being mounted to the roof
Great job well done also nice to get a little look at Charlie 👍👌
He’s growing up so fast
Awe sweet little Charlie! 😊
Coming along. Good job little buddy
Cheers Brenny
Coming along nicely ❤
Not sure if you have done it..Side strips need sealing, few other things...I could go through it but there is a thorough video by - Tess Carver Waterproofing the Van (Van Build: Ep. #4) ..Hope this helps..
Thanks I’ve just watched it and it’s weird you said that because I did find a bit of water the other day on the right wheelarch and thought where is that coming from and I think it’ll be the roof side strips that I haven’t sealed
@@LoveSundays Might be roof or side strips..Look this up ( Sprinter/Crafter DESIGN FLAW!! You MUST Seal Your Side Trim ) there are a few on Fords but a lot don't show how to use a trim tool to remove, put sealant on the clips put back on....All vans after a few years leak, mainly the fault of the manufacturers, so go hard..lol..Disaster getting any type of leaks behind insulation..
I’ve done the plastic panels on the side already but there is a John on the transit between the side panel and the high top that could be letting water in
It’s definitely running down from higher up
@@LoveSundays Well the best thing to do then is to go hard on any factory top bolt spots, and along the strips on the roof and you will be solid....Use painters tape, but looks on the roof don't matter much...That Tess vid she nails it...I would use a a light bit of wet and dry first where you want to seal, wash off then let it dry off, then wipe with alcohol or acetone, then put on sealant....You will be water tight %100, keep on keeping on..
Cracking vid as ever pal! I love the part when you say " lots have happened " had a hair cut..that's about it. Made me spit my cuppa out lol. 5.46sec. Pure quality 👌
Glad someone gets my sense of humour 😂
You did a brilliant job, just getting the roof done, we've not had many days in March down here without rain... Let's hope April is better... The forecast is looking brighter... And should be better for your build... Maybe a pop up Awning for working under with your tools 😉... Or maybe not 😂
That’s a good idea
Found it useful while working on my transit... I've got a polycarbonate roof, not too far from the van... Absolutely Marvellous for our rainy days... Waiting for dry Spring weather to rust treat the underneath of the van... Lanoguard comes highly recommended 😉☀️
Good job well done mate 👍 Get your boy to give you a hand and show you how it's done 😂😂
His carpentry skills are probably already better than mine 😂
Don't fret my mk8 transit roof leaks as well it's annoying and if leaking from front check the ariel seal and rear the top brake light are common for leaks
Good advice thank you
Gdzie kupiłeś bagażnik dachowy?

Boom with the Rhino.....Great addition
Thanks Rob
All that hard work and once again Charlie steals your limelight SO cute!!!! Also doesn't your old van look Diddy next to the new one!
Yes and to think it used to feel really big but not anymore 😂
Enjoying watching the build come together. Which roof rack did you go for?
It’s a Rhino rack mate
Mr freehand, no masking, that would kick off my ocd. your doing a good job tho, keep it up..
Yea my dad told me I should’ve masked it 😂
Loving the Rhino on the roof rack
Yea it’s a nice touch isn’t it
@@LoveSundays class mate class
Looking good.
Thanks Michael
The roof is looking good let's hope there's no more leaks have yu insulated the roof yet
I’ll be fully insulating the roof after I’ve pitted the fan
Nice job man e bran new 😊 not sure Charlie boy was impressed but I am 😅he growing fast ey lil belt
He better be impressed else he’s sleeping by outside when we start using the van 😂
@@LoveSundays haha he be impressed having such good parents he be paddle boarding before you know it lil belta man lol
We have indeed, had so much rain! Still a hosepipe ban tho 🤣
😂
Good job!
Thank you
Great job 👏
Thank you! 😃
"Need more sealant", thought Charlie!
😂
Certainly getting there Shaun 👍👏👍
Thanks Andrew
Are you having any solar panels?
Yes I still haven’t decided which ones to get yet though. It’s either going to be Victron or Renogy
Victron are meant to provide the best inverters . Not sure on solar . 🤔
Great job mate
Thanks Ian
hi , with what you have sealed the roof noobs ? what is that and what brand it is ? and that brand was that rust crust bottle ?
and what type of sealant you use for the rack ?thanks.
Bravo 👏.
Thank you
It's coming on dude. I'm still waiting for a dry (ish) day to fit my side windows and roof vent. Will this bleddy rain ever end? Love the roof rack but couldn't find a link in your van build gear for it? Later. ✌
Yea I need to update everything but you can get it from the Rhino website. Just make sure you chose the correct wheel base when ordering one.
@@LoveSundays YAY! I finally fitted a window today during a decent few hours weather. 😁
Sorry injoyed
Be really helpful if you linked all the products your using and made an Amazon link to them you would also make money from that as well
That’s what my website is for www.lovesundays.uk
Hi mate. Love the video. What's the name of the sealant you are using to stop the leaks? Cheers
amzn.to/4cijAzI
What sealant did you use please? I sealed all the stupid grommets with sikaflex EBT+ just to find out that it started leaking again after two months... The sikaflex literally crumbled to bits.
Reporting for duty 🫡
Thank you
Curious how this could have been done without the roof rack? Any solutions other than putting weight on the roof and hoping for the best?
When it comes to dealing with water, just generally speaking i think its best to refer to the canal boating world and see what they would do. Any materials they apply to metal boats to deal with water should lend itself to van builds too, albeit more pricey.
I guess you could just walk along the roof. But with all the little grommets on the transit I wouldn’t advise it but other vans may be different
👍
Nice vid Shaun…say hello to Tonto for me….😂
Will do 😂
Another great video Sean could you tell me if your insurance is dear for a van
Use Adrian flux mate they’re great for camper van insurance
Hi Shaun, whats your take on the folding ladder, Yeah or Nay, thinking of buying one, Vans coming along nicely
I love my ladder it can be a bit wobbly though
Take it for a run in the rain before you give it the fully waterproof thumbs up.
Good idea
I had to watch it twice as everybody was saying rhino 😂
😂
Have you got a link to the roof rack please ? Thanks 👍
It’s a rhino rack mate. Just look on their website for your particular van
Nice video. Where did you buy those sunglasses from?
They’re made by Vans and I got them off Amazon
Thanks what sealant are you using?
It’s called NO NONSENSE X8 HYBRID SEALANT & ADHESIVE WHITE 400ML from screwfix I used it to glue the subfloor down too
You know that Hammerite was red right?
Ah, yes you did haha
Another good video, are you having solar panels on this one?
Yes the solar will go on top of the roof rack
What company did you buy your van from ?
youre awesome
No you’re awesome Matt
What sealant did you use?
Ct1
Charlie sure is cute 💜
Thank you
Why don’t you pop a tarpaulin over the top to keep it dry until you can work on it ?
Good idea
Hi buddy innoying your latest build 😂😂
Thanks Dave
@@LoveSundays your welcome 🤙🤙
More nice editing trick’s. Your’l be doing classes next…
I’m not good enough for that yet lol
What sealant are you using?
It’s from screwfix it’s a sealant and a glue some stuff I used to stick the subfloor down with
