    Yes. Just learn your *own* hair. Everything we see online is just a suggestion.🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

    How many years did I waste trying to have my hair perform like others who did not have hair like mine? Too many.

    Brilliant video. Very informative. I have medium porosity. So I was struggling for a long while to find my porosity. ..when in actual fact I had medium porosity...so some viewers should take note that they may not be high or low porosity...but medium. And not a lot of videos are done for medium porosity hair.

      Stephney Pink the ultimate goal is medium porosity. Don’t want to struggle to get or hold moisture

    I love that you point out that pattern isn't everything and that you can have multiple textures. You are lucky that your nape is 4c my nape is 3b -I have to pin up that section to keep it from hanging down my back. I also have type 2 in the front-everything else is a type 4 mix. Great vid!
    Subscribed! Learning to style LP-course-high density hair is a struggle, looking forward to a week of vids.

    TFS. I totally agree with you on all points. My journey was rough until I figured out my hair. I learned a lot from your past struggles.
    Managing your expectations is important. I knew that I wasn't going to miraculously sprout type 3 hair after going natural nor was any product going to produce that affect.

    Honestly, I drove myself crazy trying to pinpoint my porosity. I just gave it up and started to pay attention to how particular products and techniques worked on my hair. I do a little of All the various porosity techniques. I just concluded that my hair has all of the porosities. I am certain that my ends are different from my roots. My crown is different from my sides. Also, I don’t follow people with looser curl patterns. They don’t need as much moisture and weight as us coily, sebum challenged girls. And the detangling is waaaay different. Someone’s curl pattern is the first thing I look at in determining if I will watch. I don’t care what their porosity, density or so on is.

  • @iaishabarron

    I have fine strands and low density I definitely can't use alot of product and I only manipulate my hair on wash day to help prevent breakage. I had to really learn about my hair after I had to cut 4 inches off my hair. It wasn't from not trimming regularly it was from how rough I was handling my fine low dense strands. I leave my hair in 2 flat twists these days since low manipulation is best for me.

    Are you trying TGINs new line?
    I’m a high density low to normal porosity, fine strands type 4 with a section or 2 of 3c. I think in summer my hair switches to high porosity bc I can’t keep it hydrated enough so that’s when I protective style typically. But heavy products work fine bc I have a lot of hair. Thin and fine probably shouldn’t use heavier products.

    I've tried the porosity test and it still doesn't help me. For one, I do have fine textured hair and it takes no time to get it wet. Plus, it dries just as fast. I don't like to buy a lot of products because I learned from my mom to not be wasteful. Frustrating!!!!

    • @OneSmartFro
      @OneSmartFro  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Black Beauty the dry fast makes it seem like you have high porosity. Low porosity takes forever to dry. I think it’s best to see how your hair reacts versus doing a test because you can’t physically test every strand in your head
