The thing about this treasure. Look at the timeline of artifacts. Some type of major operations went on at that island in waves. So let's look at the original story that the boys found a pulley attached to a oak tree above the money pit. So heres the thing they haven't been able to write anything off that this can't be. We have prove that the Vikings were in the area in documented history. We know that the some Vikings settled the area which the lead cross came from in France. Vikings ancestors became knights templars later on that is documented in history. So who is to say that they didn't keep the information alive of the new world in oral tradition amongst themselves and trusted family. So here my thoughts the island has been a depositary for religious artifacts, treasure for a long period of time for a certain group of people. Think about the human remains that they found in H8 that dated to the 1650 and were of European and middle eastern origin. Honestly I wish that they would take the DNA signature that they have gotten from that and plugged that into the DNA ancestor and see if they can get any matches of possible people living today that would have been related to them. Because families hold secrets and keep oral traditions alive. Perhaps they can find out the who what in that part. But going back to the theroy theres been depositors for a long period of time. I think after the area was starting to be settled the depositor stopped and covered up everything to hide it. I agree with the templar theroy but I think there more to it I think that pirates are descended form templars cause they have used some of the same symbols and I don't mean every pirate only certain ones. I think that the American Revolution was financial support by part of this treasure hence why the boys found the pulley. Is there more yes I do cause of the data from the water test. The horrible part is I think that there were documents also and with all the holes I fear that the documents are going to be lost because they have been destroyed in the process. I think once they have found something significant they will have no choice to do a full scale dig. I don't think 10x is done for either I think diving it has become to dangerous and when they do a large scale dig they will include 10x and clear everything out.
I've been a fan from the beginning and love everything about the curse of Oak island. The Laguna brothers and the others make the shows and I hope they also continue the treasure hunts and make another series on History channel. The channel has got a real winner with the show ..I haven't seen one episode that I ..my family and friends didn't like in fact it's sad to say we watch reruns in the off season. Please keep up the good work with this program there's so much crap and bad news out there this show brings much needed happiness to so many !
Like many others I’ve watched this series from the beginning. First I do believe that there is, or was, a massive amount of treasure on the island. Whether it was 11th , 15th or 17th century is fairly immaterial. Is it still there..unknown!!… However the archaeologist does appear to be fairly poor in his judgement when presented with items or structures uncovered as excavation occurs. For example there no discussion on the size of the labour force that would have been necessary to build the road in the swamp. ( A large ships crew could vary from eighty to two/three hundred during the 13 - 17 centuries).. The work completed looks as though the larger crew was needed. We’re there several ships? Was Oak Island known before to have fresh water for ships to replenish supplies?… ( If so it could explain many of the items Gary uncovers). Neither has any effort made to ascertain where the stone for the road came from. ( Is it from the beach ( possible) and is it part ships ballast ?).. If there’s a burnt out wreck beneath the swamp . ( why not do a series of core sample. If each brings up wood then the find is established). With the tunnels surely an inspection of the timber’s should have been made to see if they were the beams and planking, (my obvious choice), from a ship. The possible remains of a , supposedly burnt, wreck immersed deep in the swamp. ( the date of which is critical to the Templar legend).. Several of those beans are massive and make me wonder just how they were manhandled through a tunnel and fixed into position. ( I doubt a ships officer would have the engineering/mining knowledge to build a tunnel or plan the water traps. This does have a military feel about it and we know the Knights Templar mined under and into the temple in Jerusalem. Making them prime candidates. Small point though if you are dragging something heavy through a tunnel you need a solid floor. This could explain why so much old wood is brought up in some of the dig grabs). That’s a tunnel that was meant to last and could possibly be still partially intact. ( Is it flooded).. Now these are archaeological questions that could, and should, be answered and might show clues as to what actually happened 3 - 7 centuries ago. I’m a Freemason. It looks as though it might be a Masonic idea of a joke? I think they will find something eventually but maybe not where you’d suspect? When I first joined their talent for suspense was scary and secret. Everything had a meaning. They left it up to you to find it. I remember seeing the winery which Marty owns in Michigan. Or Gary? It had a Templar emblem on the floor somewhere. Could these guys be pulling our legs? Or just being suspenseful? Are they Freemasons? More power to you guys whatever it is?
I've never missed an episode of Oak Island. I have been frustrated several times but have not given up hope that something will eventually be found in the way of "treasure". I'm pulling for the Ark of the Covenant but will be happy for the brothers, Craig and the crew when they find anything of value...especially for Rick. He works very hard and doesn't mind getting dirty. His instinct about the swamp was never dissuaded, even by Marty. He also seems humble but extremely determined. Craig is very smart and easy going but has determination too. Not to be too negative about anyone but I think if Gary says "mate" or "top pocket find" one more time I'm going to scream! He's good on the metal detector though. My favorite guy on the cast has to be Billy. That fellow is a magician on a track hoe! I love it when Marty tries to operate a backhoe or struggles with the track hoe then watch Billy make it look so easy. Hang in there Fellowship, something will eventually come up out of that mud hole.! Hope it's this year.
I like what you say but I believe the arc of the covenant is up in heaven with the father. It mentions that fact in Rev. Chap 11, but I forget what verse. If anyone, any human mortal person had it in their possession , it would mean a lot of chaos and wars and people going after it for power . I don’t think any human should have this arc.
I’ve watched the show from the beginning and I love it. We’ve even stayed at the Oak Island Lodge which has a room dedicated to Oak Island. With lots of the history. You can see Oak Island from the lodge.

Rose Dolph Forever an Acorn. As a teenager I too read the article in Readers Digest, and became fascinated with the Idea of buried treasure. So naturally when The Curse of Oak Island began I became an avid watcher of every episode from the very beginning. I will continue watching until the very last episode.
I only know one thing that was all this time since people have been looking for this treasure on this island . That is for sure that all the money that has been spent to look for this treasure is a fortune 👌
I imagine some sort of serious treasure was hidden there. But that kind of wealth wouldn't just be lost. It was retrieved in later years either by those who hid it or by those for whom it was hid.
I absolutely believe they will find a treasure hidden. Infact, maybe 2or 3 more treasures with all the evidence of the different countries visiting for reasons yet to be uncovered by the Laginas and staff...I truly love this show....can't get enough of the small but valuable findings of artifacts
I watched until the end! I LOVE this show and have watched every episode. There's too many traps, clues, etc to not believe that something is there. My only fear is that all the treasure hunters looking over the years have destroyed evidence with their digging.
My fear is that they will find clear evidence that treasure WAS there but that it had been taken away. I mean you dont bury treasure to be randomly found centuries later, u usually plan to come dig it back up at some point.
I Watched Till The End,,, and will continue watching 'til they find whatever is there. I first read about Oak Island in the kid-oriented newspaper "My Weekly Reader" published by Scholastic Books in the early '70s and have been interested in it ever since.
I have followed this eventure for a long time. Truely wish one day a full explained story of. Who, What, Where, Why, & When. Will be known & brought forth*****. All so, love it when GARY gets a top pocket find.. His excitement is inspiring***** BEST OF LUCK TEAM... GO FIND THEE GOLD*****.
At first I believed that is was recovered and in a bank in the UK but now I believe it's there and they are going to find it. But I hope it's all coins so the lagina Brothers don't get screwed over by the Canadian government over artifacts. At least with coins the government can take thier 10% an the brothers get what they deserve. I just hope they share some with the crew that's been with them from the start due to without all the people going through every piece of dirt and digging in all that mud they wouldn't be as close as they are. Just give them a nice keepsake to remember they were apart of history an I truly believe the brothers will, they seem like truly Honorable Men and I have loved watching the show and showing just how skilled the people were back then.
I know what happened and why no one can find any treasure on Oak Island. Back in 1795 a group of teen ages saw some lights on Oak Island and started looking for buried treasure, as has all others after them. The teens were wrong. What they saw was the last of the treasure being removed not the treasure being buried.
I believe the island was a depository for treasures in the far past but I also believe that the people who were there came back to claim what they left. I don't think they said hey let's leave this here for somebody to find one day but I hope I'm wrong lol
Me too, what I find puzzling is that they would bury it so deep? and have such elaborate water trap. regardless of what may be there I lean towards something they didn't want others to get, not so much something they wanted to temporarily hide. One story was that there was treasure that was hidden for the day there was a political (or religious) change in a country, but it never came. Or one that took so long that the 1 or few people who knew about the treasure died (likely violently when caught)
as long as people show interest, the show will go on! doesn't matter if the treasure exists or not.i personally believe if there was a treasure it was already recovered from the people who put it there a long time ago but either way it's fun to let the mind wonder!
Usually lore and legend makes its own lure. I think over the past 300 years endless treasure hunters have turned over vast amounts of soil and evidence of turning it over. For future hunters to find and turn it over again. Likely then supposed artifacts are found left by past hunters.
Missed out on mentioning one of their finds. It may not sound sexy. but testing the water taken up from over a hundred feet down they found traces of gold and silver in it. This does not occur naturally unless there is gold and silver in the soil and Oak island (or the area around it) has never had that.
My fascination with Oak Island revolves around the decision making and management style of the Latina’s. Marty is quintessential in his insistence on data based alternatives. We have to bear in mind the story and scenes are scripted for the doting audience, peppered with cliffhanger episode closing speculations. Still, we are seeing real evidence of discovery and high morale in a diverse team of experts with a notable lack of ego. That’s leadership folks, and that’s a lot of money on the Pass Line
They need to look into samual Balls (records) tax records, last will, meet with his family to find out an estimate of his net worth. This would clear up if he found the treasure long ago.
I think the show has run its course . I have always thought the treasure . Is gone If someone put treasure there WHY would they not come back and GET it.
A sudden run in with a sharp knife? or a jealous husband? maybe the plague? A storm at sea while on the way home? Kidnapped by aliens? or it could be they forgot where they parked. I mean come on use your imagination. I agree no one would put it there just to leave it (unless they think it really is a cursed object, and a nasty one at that). Or like they say 'The best laid plans of mice and men...'
I watch until the end, I to read the same article when I was the same age as the brothers When they read the story and like them I really would like the answer of who did it why did you do it, and what treasure was left there.
100s and 100s of years ago i believe oak island was a trading settlement and repair spot. Lots of sailing was going on to explore. A spot was needed for repairs and to resupply. Why the stone roads are there to off load supplys and why slip ways are there. The triangle swamp was open and ships were pulled in there for repairs.
So, as yet the History Channel hasn't confirmed that they will support a 10th season. What does this mean? Do the Lagina brothers just up and walk away? Are the brothers willing and or able to fund another season? Hum.... I guess we take a wait and see attitude, who knows. Seems like a lot of bait has been thrown into the water to catch the 'big' one, and then, have to settle for a guppies. I have watched this series from the beginning and it gets more of a joke as it goes on. Hence the work reality TV. They use clips that are not in sequence which make me believe it's not the truth. Now it's just a money maker for the history channel. Also if you VPN from another country, Like Canada, you can get more info on the show that they don't show in the US. After you get all the recaps your left with 15 mins of content and the show has become a joke. I still watch it, but I just power watch it in about 15 mins.
I think that speaks of how u yourself have changed over time, not the show. and you do realize it IS a show right. I mean Not even Hollywood does stuff 'in sequence', its called 'editing'
There was a lot of different people there and you would think they would have crossed paths or saw where someone was working and digging, had to have taken years and years to dig all that by hand where somebody was bound to see where someone was working/ digging. I think that some of the workers that help bury it and did all the work got together and went back and got it, just a silly thought though
They have already found it. They are dealing with Nova Scotia Government and photo Ops. May be getting set to show the world. In the meantime, we get to finish the finding & retrieving it videos.
You only need to look at the size of the operation just to try find the so called treasure if it's their so whoever put it there in the first place needed a hell of a lot of people that should be a clue on its own.

I'm still gonna watch to the very end. I know for a fact that there is a vast amount of treasure in the pit.. The guys are eventually going to bring it up. People need patience. It is there for the world to see.
I believe that, the coloured man who was apparently was poor before going to the island then was very wealthy found it or he found quite a lot of it,, as I dont think anyone has said as to where he became suddenly very wealthy.
One thing they have not tried is to use a drilling wire line service. I mean they drill the holes already. all you need to do it drop a few instrument packages down the pipe and you could pinpoint the vault to a few feet. but then there would be no next season, lol.
I am Intrigued with the theories but after watching several shows they need ro cut the episodes to 15 minutes each and even that's a long time to get a snippet of info that e ds up being another piece of you guessed it wood

But I hope it's all coins so the lagina Brothers don't get screwed over by the Canadian government over artifacts. At least with coins the government can take thier 10% an the brothers get what they deserve. I just hope they share some with the crew that's been with them from the start due to without all the people going through every piece of dirt and digging in all that mud they wouldn't be as close as they are. Just give them a nice keepsake to remember they were apart of history an I truly believe the brothers will, they seem like truly Honorable Men and I have loved watching the show and showing just how skilled the people were back then.

I know what happened and why no one can find any treasure on Oak Island. Back in 1795 a group of teen ages saw some lights on Oak Island and started looking for buried treasure, as has all others after them. The teens were wrong. What they saw was the last of the treasure being removed not the treasure being buried.
I believe the island was a depository for treasures in the far past but I also believe that the people who were there came back to claim what they left. I don't think they said hey let's leave this here for somebody to find one day but I hope I'm wrong lol
Me too, what I find puzzling is that they would bury it so deep? and have such elaborate water trap. regardless of what may be there I lean towards something they didn't want others to get, not so much something they wanted to temporarily hide.
One story was that there was treasure that was hidden for the day there was a political (or religious) change in a country, but it never came. Or one that took so long that the 1 or few people who knew about the treasure died (likely violently when caught)

as long as people show interest, the show will go on! doesn't matter if the treasure exists or not.i personally believe if there was a treasure it was already recovered from the people who put it there a long time ago but either way it's fun to let the mind wonder!
Usually lore and legend makes its own lure. I think over the past 300 years endless treasure hunters have turned over vast amounts of soil and evidence of turning it over. For future hunters to find and turn it over again. Likely then supposed artifacts are found left by past hunters.

Missed out on mentioning one of their finds. It may not sound sexy. but testing the water taken up from over a hundred feet down they found traces of gold and silver in it. This does not occur naturally unless there is gold and silver in the soil and Oak island (or the area around it) has never had that.
I think I'm crying. It's that neat.

My fascination with Oak Island revolves around the decision making and management style of the Latina’s. Marty is quintessential in his insistence on data based alternatives. We have to bear in mind the story and scenes are scripted for the doting audience, peppered with cliffhanger episode closing speculations. Still, we are seeing real evidence of discovery and high morale in a diverse team of experts with a notable lack of ego. That’s leadership folks, and that’s a lot of money on the Pass Line

They need to look into samual Balls (records) tax records, last will, meet with his family to find out an estimate of his net worth. This would clear up if he found the treasure long ago.
I think the show has run its course . I have always thought the treasure . Is gone If someone put treasure there WHY would they not come back and GET it.
A sudden run in with a sharp knife? or a jealous husband? maybe the plague? A storm at sea while on the way home? Kidnapped by aliens? or it could be they forgot where they parked. I mean come on use your imagination.

100s and 100s of years ago i believe oak island was a trading settlement and repair spot. Lots of sailing was going on to explore. A spot was needed for repairs and to resupply.
Why the stone roads are there to off load supplys and why slip ways are there. The triangle swamp was open and ships were pulled in there for repairs.
So, as yet the History Channel hasn't confirmed that they will support a 10th season. What does this mean? Do the Lagina brothers just up and walk away? Are the brothers willing and or able to fund another season? Hum.... I guess we take a wait and see attitude, who knows. Seems like a lot of bait has been thrown into the water to catch the 'big' one, and then, have to settle for a guppies. Been watching since it debuted read the reader digest article many yrs ago so fascinating how well traveled antiquity was
I have watched this series from the beginning and it gets more of a joke as it goes on. Hence the work reality TV. They use clips that are not in sequence which make me believe it's not the truth. Now it's just a money maker for the history channel. Also if you VPN from another country, Like Canada, you can get more info on the show that they don't show in the US. After you get all the recaps your left with 15 mins of content and the show has become a joke. I still watch it, but I just power watch it in about 15 mins.
I think that speaks of how u yourself have changed over time, not the show. and you do realize it IS a show right. I mean Not even Hollywood does stuff 'in sequence', its called 'editing'

There was a lot of different people there and you would think they would have crossed paths or saw where someone was working and digging, had to have taken years and years to dig all that by hand where somebody was bound to see where someone was working/ digging. I think that some of the workers that help bury it and did all the work got together and went back and got it, just a silly thought though

You only need to look at the size of the operation just to try find the so called treasure if it's their so whoever put it there in the first place needed a hell of a lot of people that should be a clue on its own.
I would point out that it only takes 1 person to get lost but it takes 100 to scour the words to find the body.

I believe that, the coloured man who was apparently was poor before going to the island then was very wealthy found it or he found quite a lot of it,, as I dont think anyone has said as to where he became suddenly very wealthy.

Wonder if they ever panned for gold. Maybe it was fine gold and was spread over a certain area.
One thing they have not tried is to use a drilling wire line service. I mean they drill the holes already. all you need to do it drop a few instrument packages down the pipe and you could pinpoint the vault to a few feet. but then there would be no next season, lol.
If its there..they will never find it as it will be hidden too deep...it wasn't buried that way...it won't be found that way
I am Intrigued with the theories but after watching several shows they need ro cut the episodes to 15 minutes each and even that's a long time to get a snippet of info that e ds up being another piece of you guessed it wood
