This is one of the rare interviews where both the interviewer and the interviewee seem completely comfortable and at ease. Great questions and of course a great insight into peter's vast doctor who knowledge. Plus amazing drawings! :)
Peter has the absolute right idea about this part: There's a time for gags and light-hearted humor, but it's far more than that. Tom Baker was so engaging because he did have that broad range.
He’s such a fantastic doctor. He embodies the Doctor so well. That speech gives me chills it should be heard by anyone about to start a war and also embodies everything about the Doctor all at once. How he says it all is fantastic and couldn’t be done better than anyone else on earth.
I really adore Peter Capaldi as the Doctor. He's a brilliant actor, (and more in my age group, just to give a nod to us older fans!) Not that the young Doctors weren't wonderful, too. I love his hair when he grows it a bit; you get to appreciate his curls. Can't wait for season 10!
I'm doing the speech in the zygon inversion for a LAMDA acting grade 5, and I just wanted to say that Capaldi doing it makes it easy to remember. It's one of the, if not the most iconic speech in the history of the show.
The Renaissance Doctor. To know that he'd done Malcolm Tucker in "The Thick of It" before being the 12th Doctor shows the range. A veteran actor who's done so much. His work with Jenna was so good; they may be the best pairing in the modern Who, and possibly among them all. And "Heaven Sent", the middle of the trilogy that ended Season 9, may be the best single episode of all.
Amazing job with the interview and Peter is just amazing. It so great that he is such a fan himself and that he has a such a great love the for the Doctor. I bet this was one of the great highlights of all time for you. This show has come a long long way since the beginning but ya'll deserve it and it's a travesty that you don't have 500k subs.
Peter Capaldi a truly brilliant Doctor. I loved his era and especially season 9 and 10. But each season he’s done has been brilliant and seeing him in the 50th Anniversary was truly brilliant XD
That was an excellent interview. It's nice to hear his disappointment about some recent character and story decisions come through during this interview. He clearly loves the show. Awesome art too!
I love your interviews with Peter. Nice to see an interview when the same old questions aren't trotted out (aka, when are you leaving?) and he always seems so happy and relaxed. :D
I love this doctor he always has a quirky mysterious side its also nice to see him laugh and its good to see river song back in the next series but each doctor has played the time Lord in there own way welcome back doctor
Peter - "I sort of haven't done a series without her?" you know it's always so heartwarming to hear about the great working relationship between Peter and Jenna, and evidently how well it worked out. you can kind of tell how Jenna gets quite attached to how well her and Peter work together and "hang out" as she says, in the SDCC 2015 interview, the one on the couch with Michelle Gomez and Peter there too.
"She looked after me so well" is also a pretty good summary of early series 8 Doctor/Clara relationship too. i think the relationship between the actors makes it easier to interpret the relationship dynamic between the characters on screen.
I just watched the live interview from the Deep Breath premiere and Peter mentions Mondas there too! He was probably bugging Moffat about it since the moment he was hired! Of course at this point perhaps it was already decided that his finale would feature Mondassian Cybermen.
I don't wanna hijack Peter's career, but if we could have him for maybe at least 2 more seasons? I can't think of having another Doctor who isn't Peter Capaldi. and no its not like the attachment I felt when Matt and David left, Peter is different, it's like having William Hartnett again and transitioning out of someone who is so definitive Doctor Who is just.... inconceivable yknow? also Moffat is leaving and Chibnall is coming in. Peter is the perfect guy who will not only give stability during this major transition but is just the right person that can bring in Classic Who elements and help apply them onto present day technology and storytelling. also Peter and the guy who did Broadchuch together? that is what history making tv is made of 👍👍 I can't wait to see the magic that's sure to happen ✨
+Blaze Ruler Yeah Chris Chibnall has offered Peter the role for when he becomes the writer, it's just wether he accepts it! Hopefully he does because I absolutely adore Peter; Twelve is my Doctor :)
+MyTinyVlog I dislike peter as the doctor, there just hasn't been any wow episodes since he has been here, the only wow episode was heaven sent were he did a stand alone episode
The husbands of River Song is not a straight up comedy piece, it broke my little heart in two and then stepped all over it. Did you think I could handle that moment after Clara leaving? Cause I couldn't! I couldn't!
Peter is a great actor and a great artist.Miss his version of the Doctor. And that sexy hot voice of his. And I love the fact he's a life long Whovian. He wrote to the BBC asking if he could be the president of the Doctor Who fan club when he was 15.They said no and that he was being a bother. He got them back didn't he?!?☺
"Genesis of the Cybermen" was a cancelled episode of the classic series where the Doctor goes to Mondas and witnesses the origins of the Cybermen. This needs to happen in the new series!
Amir Pourghoureiyan Interesting idea, but I think it would act as an homage to "Genesis of the Daleks" if they kept the title. That makes me think: is there a Davros-like figure in the history of the Cybermen?
+TardisArmyMax well if you're talking about lore it's always been the cyber leader at the top and in the parallel universe they were created by John Lumic so it would be a good idea to explore that a bit more than just have a normal Cybermen reappearance
Amir Pourghoureiyan I agree. Personally, I would love to see a return of those honeycomb-shaped tombs the Cybermen incase themselves in. I watched "Tomb of the Cybermen" for the first time a few weeks ago, and that scene was utterly bone chilling.
best half of series nine is the one that starts off with the zygons because they are a great foe of the doctor series ten sounds good and would love to see him go back to the planet where his former companion Nysa chose to stay on to help people in need with his new companion Osgood also would love to see actor Hugh Laurie appear in a future episode soon because as always he reminds me of Peter Capaldi
I think from now on I will imagine Peter Capaldi when somebody mentions the Doctor, until another one changes my mind (Which I doubt will happen but who knows)
+Tia Allred The doctor has already been granted another regeneration cycle, so he has another eleven regenerations to go through before the show could POSSIBLY end. Even then, however, they'll probably find a way to keep the show going.
Did you not see Time of the Doctor ? Smith was the last of the first cycle The doctor was given a whole new set in time of the doctor Capaldi is the first of the new cycle so there will be 26 doctors in total
I still can't believe some Americans couldn't understand his accent, it's not even that strong, I've heard people from Glasgow with way stronger accents than Peter.
He seems to be drawing another stuff when he was having this interview, it doesn't seem like he is drawing doctor 1-4 right now. I really wonder what he is drawing!
I really hope that BBC would change their mind about making Peter leave as Moffat leaves, because he's just perfect match for the role. He knows his character inside-out and he has such deep love for him. So I don't just regret that a great actor will leave DW, but I also pity this sweet life-long DW geek that he will be forced out of his dream job :(
Note to producer: If you're doing a two-shot but the actors are not in the same room make sure you motivate the actor who is acting off of nothing to do the nuances of an actual conversation. The edit makes it look like the interviewer is talking to a speakerphone or something.
7:39 oh God... my brain just registered that as Gary Glitter and now it's forever tainted. I can't unsee it. I'm sorry to anyone who reads this. It will be there forever for you now as well.
My mistake. I didn't hear the part about 2018, so I thought the change was happening next season. I wish it were next season. He can't leave soon enough for my liking.
when are you making new episode doctor who and is Peter Capaldi in it to because he really good at ti and funny to and love is episode some are really good and some are funny.
They start filming May to air sometime in 2017 and yes Capaldi will be in it But we are getting an Xmas special this year And the BBC have asked Capaldi to stay for series 11 he said he would think about it
I do not like the new associate with the doctor it will ruin season ten I hope doctor who doesn't turn into trash. My personal favourite eps are heaven sent and hells bent even tho I didn't want Clara to go they where really good eps.
I can't believe that Peter Capaldi exists, he's unreal, so kind and gentle and versatile, I love him.
this man is perfect i want to hug him forever
me, too
I could just watch him draw and talk Dr.Who for hours on end.
Likeable? More like, *lovable*!
Peter Capaldi's the best!
He’s such a fantastic doctor.
He embodies the Doctor so well.
That speech gives me chills it should be heard by anyone about to start a war and also embodies everything about the Doctor all at once.
How he says it all is fantastic and couldn’t be done better than anyone else on earth.
'Heaven Sent' is my all-time favourite DW story.
+Anny whocares Yay! Welcome to this wonderful tribe of Whovians, Anny whocares! It's a fun ride!
Its so cute he didnt want jenna to go
I'm doing the speech in the zygon inversion for a LAMDA acting grade 5, and I just wanted to say that Capaldi doing it makes it easy to remember. It's one of the, if not the most iconic speech in the history of the show.
I love how he doesn't even have to think about what planet he wants to go to: "Mondas, OBVIOUSLY" 😂😍
I love Peter capaldi I bought the series 9 last week
The Renaissance Doctor. To know that he'd done Malcolm Tucker in "The Thick of It" before being the 12th Doctor shows the range. A veteran actor who's done so much. Peter Capaldi's just excellent. Great actor, wonderful Doctor, and clearly a devoted fan of the show. Thank you for this lovely interview. :D
Amazing job with the interview and Peter is just amazing. It so great that he is such a fan himself and that he has a such a great love the for the Doctor. I bet this was one of the great highlights of all time for you.

+Brandon Ottinger (JaqenH'ghar80) Awwww thanks, kind sir!
+Doctor Who: The Fan Show Yea great job on the interview.
+Doctor Who: The Fan Show i love the the dark doctor from series 8 more dramatic :)

Peter Capaldi a truly brilliant Doctor. I loved his era and especially season 9 and 10. But each season he’s done has been brilliant and seeing him in the 50th Anniversary was truly brilliant XD
God, I love Peter
That was an excellent interview. It's nice to hear his disappointment about some recent character and story decisions come through during this interview. He clearly loves the show. Awesome art too!
What is it with us Glaswegians? We're always happy when our hands are creatively busy.😃 Great scetches, Mr Capaldi. 😊
I love your interviews with Peter. Nice to see an interview when the same old questions aren't trotted out (aka, when are you leaving?) and he always seems so happy and relaxed. :D
his blazer is the same plaid as his doctor's plaid pants!
David and Peter are my favourite doctors 💜
I liked Peter Capaldi early on in the season, but the Zygon Inversion speech is when he became "my" Doctor. Brilliant writing and spectacular acting.
he is such a good drawer he is
I love this doctor he always has a quirky mysterious side its also nice to see him laugh and its good to see river song back in the next series but each doctor has played the time Lord in there own way welcome back doctor

love Peter as he's a fan to who wouldn't be doctor who's awesome thanks for interviewing him christel
OMG who would buy these Peter's prints of previous regenerations of The Doctor?

+KiddsockTV All of us!

I didn't know peter was such a great draw😱😍😝😜🤓
He's soooooooo adorable!!!!

he's leaving after s10, s10 is his last series...
+RandomGingerKing oh is it?? Okay thanks for the news
The clash of amazing hairs!!! I thought my computer screen was going to explode!
The husbands of River Song is not a straight up comedy piece, it broke my little heart in two and then stepped all over it. Did you think I could handle that moment after Clara leaving? Cause I couldn't! I couldn't!
Well Clara left like 6 times so ..
I guess you got really upset at all of them
79.03.13 YES.
Peter is a great actor and a great artist.Miss his version of the Doctor. And that sexy hot voice of his. I would love to see Capaldi go to Vortis.
I wish he was my grandpa
me too
"Genesis of the Cybermen" was a cancelled episode of the classic series where the Doctor goes to Mondas and witnesses the origins of the Cybermen. This needs to happen in the new series!
I wish they would just do Spare Parts on tv but not change any of it bar making 5 12
Title needs to be changed I think, could have "roots of silver" instead
Amir Pourghoureiyan Interesting idea, but I think it would act as an homage to "Genesis of the Daleks" if they kept the title. That makes me think: is there a Davros-like figure in the history of the Cybermen?

But it was a space station that Nyssa stayed on not a planet
I think from now on I will imagine Peter Capaldi when somebody mentions the Doctor, until another one changes my mind (Which I doubt will happen but who knows)
omgosh is there gonna be a 13 doctor i thought it would end at peter capaldi?
+Tia Allred The doctor has already been granted another regeneration cycle, so he has another eleven regenerations to go through before the show could POSSIBLY end. Even then, however, they'll probably find a way to keep the show going.
Did you not see Time of the Doctor ?
Smith was the last of the first cycle
The doctor was given a whole new set in time of the doctor Capaldi is the first of the new cycle so there will be 26 doctors in total
But only 24 to actually play the doctor
Macleanium I'm sure they'll still keep the show going after that, the Doctor might get infinite regenerations or something like that.
I still can't believe some Americans couldn't understand his accent, it's not even that strong, I've heard people from Glasgow with way stronger accents than Peter.
I love this youtube channel!
Peter sounded dissapointed that Gallifrey was only on for a fraction of Hell Bent.
Best NuWho Doctor by a billion miles, comes across as a lovely man, decent cartoonist too!
i think peter will be more light heart in series 10 like the first and sixth were doing
+James Green and I think he will be more dark in series 10. But who knows... who knows what Moffat will bloody do...
XD Hey Peter you should try drawing yourself and your signature eyebrows for Doctor Who
He seems to be drawing another stuff when he was having this interview, it doesn't seem like he is drawing doctor 1-4 right now. I really wonder what he is drawing!
I really hope that BBC would change their mind about making Peter leave as Moffat leaves, because he's just perfect match for the role. V1kte THEY DID😁🙂!
V1kte
Capaldi's not being forced out of anything. He's leaving of his own volition, and it just so happens Moffat is leaving as well.
I just realized we still haven't seen 12 help the rest of the Doctors send Gallifrey into another dimension. When did he do that in this incarnation?
what's Christel's accent? :o
DIS BE DA DOCTAH
Yes! Zarbi and Monoptra with a decent budget would be cool... as long as they don't have irritating voices
Note to producer: If you're doing a two-shot but the actors are not in the same room make sure you motivate the actor who is acting off of nothing to do the nuances of an actual conversation. The edit makes it look like the interviewer is talking to a speakerphone or something.
His drawings are better than mine and I drew his sonic screwdriver
7:39 oh God... my brain just registered that as Gary Glitter and now it's forever tainted. I can't unsee it.
I'm sorry to anyone who reads this. It will be there forever for you now as well.
great!
The Doctor back on Vortis? Please please please Steven, make it happen! :D
+Pepperpot Team Steven's done as showrunner. I forget who took his place.
+Cheryl Hopper Chris Chinbal
Moffat is still here for series 10, Chibnall starts his reign in 2018. Don't bury Steven too early ;)
My mistake. I didn't hear the part about 2018, so I thought the change was happening next season. I wish it were next season. He can't leave soon enough for my liking.
+Cheryl Hopper Moffat, IMO, is an amazing writer...... (TOTALLY not just saying that because he brought Twelve x Clara.... honest.... ... ...)
I feel like House should be like easter egg
when are you making new episode doctor who and is Peter Capaldi in it to because he really good at ti and funny to and love is episode some are really good and some are funny.
They start filming May to air sometime in 2017 and yes Capaldi will be in it

I wish he drew 8
in the future if possible in the future can the docter get verry atached to his new freind and she gets sick and he takes care for her

I do not like the new associate with the doctor it will ruin season ten I hope doctor who doesn't turn into trash. My personal favourite eps are heaven sent and hells bent even tho I didn't want Clara to go they where really good eps.
