A TEENAGER is wowing onlookers online with her unique looks - including donning a full face of Shrek-esque green make-up to transform into a goblin. Alice Caron, 19, from Lyon, France, has patented an ultra-colourful style that mixes cyberpunk, fantasy, Harajuku and gothic. Alice has found love with boyfriend Nicolas, 26, who adores her out-there look despite opting for more conservative clothes himself. The rainbow-hued teen has been on the receiving end of bullying because of her striking style choices, but Alice says she is committed to showing the world that fashion should not be defined by rules. In this film we see Alice transform from make-up free to full-on space goblin and spend time with her boyfriend at home. The couple attract attention as they go for a stroll through Lyon's old town, then meet up with a large group of Alice's friends at one of the regular meet-ups she organises for alternative style enthusiasts in her city.

Every time I see a video about someone with a bold, erratic style like this one, my biggest question is always, how do they pay for everything? Makeup of that caliber is NOT cheap and all those accessories really add up. The people in these videos rarely say what their income is, so I'm left wondering who pays for everything.

A lot of people our age buy their clothes second hand. In france we have a thing called “vinted”, it’s a website where you can buy and sell second hand clothing for a lot cheaper than the retail price. You have stuff here with an original price tag of 80 euros that gets sold for 5 euros. People also buy regular looking clothes and customize them with textile paint. Most alt people are into DIY and I’m pretty sure she makes many of her accessories herself.
For the makeup it’s probably good budgeting. If she doesn’t smoke or drink that’s already about a hundred bucks saved per month that she can spend on makeup (which doesn’t even cost that much honestly, in france you can get a jar of bodypaint for less than 15 euros that will last you months and she probably only has to buy new makeup when her old one is all used which must happen two or three times a year.)
@@MothNoises She does, actually, she even has a shop where you can buy her products, it's called @ le_lezard_rose on instagram! She spends hours sewing, stitching, glueing and making her outfits, sometimes from scratch! She really is a total artist I assure you.
