This is why girls need to continue their education (at least through high school) and spend time away from their parents to discover who they really are and what they want from life.
My dad sent me to a boarding high school far from home so I would only return during long holidays. For the first year I was sad and I thought they had abandoned me but after a while I understood that he wanted me to discover who I was without their influence. Now when I look back I'm so grateful

I literally felt for the bride. Like her whole world is planned for her. What she says, what she wears, who she marries, when she quits school. It was so heartbreaking to see.
@Fire Hippy changing dipers for the *rest of her life?* What? Are you saying they work part time at a nursery??? But I mean, if you think about it, it's clear that she is unhappy and she knows it-possibly even understands why, if only a little. There is hope that she and others could change how strictly they follow the traditions, as the mother-in-law did for her daughters. (Changing the arranged marriage age to 18 rather than 13 so they could get an education)
@@boleyn8463 well, it was just my opinion after all, and that's what I had seen. Poor Beatrice 😩 The look of disgust on her face is so relatable!! So, the mother-in-law peeped that Beatrice wasn't into her son, and to save him the humiliation of rejection she created one last test lol
totally! It is the same when the reported asked her "so what happens if the marriage fails" and the bossy mom said "I am not thinking about it, the gods told me she is the one". Pretty disturbing. Antonio may be a great guy, in fact, there is no reason to think he isn't, but the whole situation is distressing. I am disturbed that the groom knows so little about her that he doesn't even know that she did not go to high school, and the bride likely knows as little about him as he knows of her. Dont that’s obvious. But hear me out. You are not in their position. Sometimes we sacrifice A LOT for our families and religion. You could tell both of em didn’t want to get married to one another. But they did it anyways. You can look further in to European Gypsies and their beliefs. And try to understand where there coming from. You can tell in this video that women are literal objects! They sold their daughter. The Mothers choose the bride who must be a pure virgin, to marry her son. It’s very harsh but that’s their religion/belief. The Mother just wants her “Witch” bloodline to be pure. Even if that means HER SON MARRY HIS COUSIN. But the main point that I’m staining is MOTHER has the LAST WORD.

Indeed. In the Romany culture young women aren’t even allowed to see a boy without a chaperone. Young men can pretty much do what they want, but seeing young women outside their culture openly is still frowned upon.
This was so interesting!!! The reporter brought up such pivotal points. Usually witches represent independence, especially from men and the patriarchy, yet here they were at the wedding conforming to such patriarchal standards and traditions. Also the reporter brought up a good point on how the mother in law didn’t like Beatriz and that’s why she’s going to find another girl for her son. It was for the best since it didn’t seem like her son Antonio and the witch Beatriz had a strong connection. Antonio seemed more at ease with the reporter and showed more enthusiasm/interest in her.
The son seems like a well informed and educated young man conflicted with upholding his mothers traditions to appease her. This was interesting to watch. Kind of glad they got a divorce though lol, you can’t force love.
Beyond love, you can't force two incompatible people to actually spend a lifetime together. Compatibility matters more than "love" though having both is ideal. Here, they had neither.
This proofs that no powerful witch/sourcery can make a love potion. It also shows that being pretty does not guarantee love. Pitty that culture tries to control the young minds not yet strong enough to deside for themeselves.

just like no one cared for theirs. i know it's easy to demonize the women that put her in this situation, but do put it into perspective and realize that these women were shaped by their pasts, in which they were probably subjected to very similar things. we live in a society that reproduces itself, which is why we've lived in a world of racism, sexism, homophobia, rape, arranged marriages, extremely young brides, female circumcision, etc., things that continue to exist across generations. these women talking to her probably know, deep down, that she's not headed for a happy life and a good marriage, but they also don't have the power to stop it.
Johanne nice comment, finally someone who tells it like it is. we need to expand this discussion , because the issue with POWER lies entirely with the men even when they are in minority. these women themselves have brothers who'd happily beat them up, they have fathers who;ll do the same and they have husbands they can't fvck with. so if you are surrounded by that fear even little jolts of it, you are more likely to preserve yourself and just hope the person you are low key trying to save help themselves
Lechiffresix six exactly! The issue with internet discussions is that access is so instant that people often forget to consider how complicated issues are before they form an opinion and send it into the world. Yes, it is incredibly sad that they are not allowing her to speak freely and putting words in her mouth, especially because you can tell just how much doubt she is feeling - but it is as you say, if these women are caught by their families encouraging her to rebel against tradition and free herself, they might face very very bad consequences. They are not doing it out of the evil nature of their hearts, but out of the very same fear that Beatrice is feeling.
It seems? It definitely was about the mother in law! It was nothing but a show of power, an occasion to boast, as the witch herself said during the dress fitting. It's easier to understand if you're familiar with their culture, but gipsy weddings are never about the newly weds, they are always about the parents, who show off their influence, their wealth, and their connections. Gipsy brides are some of the saddest brides you can see, and Beatrice hid it very well. You can tell that she tried to be brave about all this.

“We paid for Beatrice. We acquired her.”
There is no power in that statement for any woman, witch or otherwise. Shameful.
It’s culture and what we’ve been doing for centuries unfortunately it seems that will never change all around the Roma community
namastenurse it’s culture same for us it’s not buying a human it’s more like we’re paying for your daughter for raising her to be a beautiful young lady
It's for the best.
namastenurse I know it’s very sad that it goed this way. My family roots also came from romas and we actually have the same “rules”. If someone pays for the bride, then she “belongs” to that family. But if the marriage doesn’t work out the mother of the man wants all her money back or they will get black magic done .. scary shit right
that is gypsy tradition at its finest. They live in the dark ages.
This is why girls need to continue their education (at least through high school) and spend time away from their parents to discover who they really are and what they want from life.
true shit
My dad sent me to a boarding high school far from home so I would only return during long holidays. For the first year I was sad and I thought they had abandoned me but after a while I understood that he wanted me to discover who I was without their influence. Now when I look back I'm so grateful
you said girls but you mean young adults
As a arab 21 girl my parents would never let me live alone they think im still 12 and i can't be independent
@@Hiba_gift as an arab girl here too, we still have the choice though, depends on your country and your parent mindset. My dad would pay for us even if we choose to stay at home, actually, I am 23 and still get pocket money from him until I graduate University and become independent financially. Of course they get really worried but I am sure asian parents in general are just very protective of their families. It's the normal family structure here, you only move out when you marry the fact you want to move out is a westren concept, we are traditionally very tight knit and respect family structure even when we don't really like it so much lol.
It’s crazy how they spent the *entire* day lavishly celebrating a love that never existed.
Very accurate
Your comment is gold. The irony. I understand that marriage in some cultures like my asian culture, is one between the family too but its sad that she and the groom had no free will.

Pretty disturbing. Antonio may be a great guy, in fact, there is no reason to think he isn't, but the whole situation is
distressing.
I am disturbed that the groom knows so little about her that he doesn't even know that she did not go to high school, and the bride likely knows as little about him as he knows of her.

clod8 true but she was just pointing out facts of that certain religion. We have gypsies in America but she was confirming European Gypsies belief.
But the main point that I’m staining is
MOTHER has the LAST WORD.

Pitty that culture tries to control the young minds not yet strong enough to deside for themeselves.

even now after he took her virginity she can't be a virgin bride anymore! I want to know what happens to her
I doubt they divorce. Lol
@@intuitiveself-love9513 did you watch the whole video? they're not together anymore. when she checked in 2 months later, they were done.
@@dalalalameri8867 It's possible they didn't consummate the marriage. she probably didn't want to yet and that's why the mother in law suddenly decided via this supposed post wedding ceremony that she could not become part of the family.
@@dalalalameri8867 the night before the consummate they do a ritual she wasnt the right one so shes probably a virgin still
"you couldn't have seen this In your crystal ball?" lmao 😂
The shade of it all 😂😂😂😂
I APPROVE OF THE SHADE HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
EXACTLY! FACTS! I AGREE! THAT'S RIGHT LOL!
I laughed so hard when she said that. Also, when she said "they just didn't like each other that's what happened" 😂
@@tyrasowell7681 same the smug smile she gave after she said the crystal ball line, fought back a laugh
The dress was absolutely stunning! Dressmaker is wonderful!
You can tell by her eyes there is no "spark" there as her husband to be says. Her eyes tell all as she looks into to the camera
Not just her eyes, but the rest of her body language.
Like, she's literally terrified. She's bored at the party, she has a kind of strange face during the ritual (maybe in that she truly believes). And her face when she said she stopped going to school... that's heartbreaking.
The fact that the women told her what to say for the camera. They don’t care about her happiness what so ever
Nadalia in every church women are being told what to say to their husband. how is it any different.
They didn't say that it was different.
just like no one cared for theirs. i know it's easy to demonize the women that put her in this situation, but do put it into perspective and realize that these women were shaped by their pasts, in which they were probably subjected to very similar things. we live in a society that reproduces itself, which is why we've lived in a world of racism, sexism, homophobia, rape, arranged marriages, extremely young brides, female circumcision, etc., things that continue to exist across generations. these women talking to her probably know, deep down, that she's not headed for a happy life and a good marriage, but they also don't have the power to stop it.
It almost seems like the whole event was about the mother in law and not Beatrice. I hope she flourishes no matter what
That's all it was about. I believe her son, husband and Beatrice all feared her.
redheadindenial I'm a gypsy and that's not how it works, that's not "our" culture. I and every gypsy girl I know can choose who they want to marry. Gypsys don't really have a culture, because we don't have a country and develope because of that in different ways. Gypsys from romania and Germany are for example really different because they have different views and traditions and wouldn't even like each other. We are so divided, so their tradition isn't ours, we don't have this ONE gypsy culture.
@@vanessaxoxo7552 good for you, darling. I mean it. But you are definitely not from around here. I am not gipsy myself, but I am Romanian, and for 25 years I have witnessed the gipsy traditions in Romania first hand. Everyone around here can distinguish between a gipsy funeral and a Romanian one, a gipsy household and a Romanian one, a gipsy party, baptism, etc. As you said it yourself, there is no one-culture for gipsies, and this is not yours. But in Romania and Bulgaria, this is their culture. Rejoice that you have the freedom you deserve.
@@vanessaxoxo7552 of course, this only applies to the gipsies who respect these traditions. There's plenty who have abandoned them, but there is a serious problem with education here, I have had several male gipsy schoolmates, including university, but only ONE gipsy girl, in highschool. And this shows there's a lot more of them who insist on their culture.
anyone else noticed how she walked backwards on the bridge and it seems like she intended to reverse the spell like she knew what she was doing
Those women in the nail salon trying to say how she feels for her to make it seem she's ok & happy about it is fucked up. Good job protecting another woman from abuse
Skull Girrl i thought the salon girl visited the bride’s house, not the other way.
I think it was the mother speaking for her off camera
@@prajaktabonde2113 Either way sadly its other women failing to protect her from this abuse & is actually even worse if its her mother
@@skullgirrl757 ik. I'm glad they ended the marriage. But I doubt she's allowed any more freedom now than she was before. Boils my blood
Interesting language. Sounds like a cross between Italian and Russian.
Right I thought I was crazy
JoStylin Well it’s a Romance language (originating in Latin) surrounded and influenced by slavic ones..so, yeah, pretty much :)
Yup
It basically had influence of both languages
And the music has a little bit of Arabic/Turkish influence.
I can't believe they put her through all that then was just like "nah, I want a refund"
Bruhhhhh 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

Bc she wasn’t a virgin that’s why. I felt bad for Beatrice
@@Jay_490 wait how do you know why it's because she wasn't a virgin?
Can only get refund for the bride price. The half million dollars for the wedding are gone.
I grew up in a similar society (Thankfully, my parents are progressive teachers and don’t give a crap about tradition).
I feel for Beatrice, and hope she is doing so much better. But I want you to think about this. In a society where a girl can’t have a boyfriend, virginity is so important and double standards are all over the place, how would you think they treat to a divorced woman. Beatrice is uneducated, her family doesn’t think much when they sell her to their relatives. I’d be surprised if she caught a break.
Can we just appreciate how beautiful Beatrice is 😍
Stunning!
Perfect 😩
I'm sorry but she looks like a horse. Nothing beautiful about that,I'm just being honest. All these people are very ugly people, that could be why they are constantly worried about finding a partner.
Sam LSD lol u jealous? or just blind?

“She isn’t ment to be part of my family” I thought they were cousins?!
Right?! What the hell! They can get the marriage annulled, but they'll still be family!
They are not first cousins...let's say they are like "fifth cousins''.. those gypsy families dont want their fortune to be shared with other families and that's why they marry their children in the family
Beatrice and Antonio are both so good looking. But it was obvious she didn't care for him. She wouldn't even have him kiss her on the cheek😂
Karla Of course she wouldn’t care she didn’t even pick her own husband lol
Yeaaaa
There is just something about this video that makes me keep watching it over and over again

I was looking for this. Lmfao!!!! 💀💀
Lmaooo I died when he said Jason 😂
He didn't look like him, not even they said wrong his name lol
25:53 Beatrice tries to physically block him from kissing her. The mother-in-law would do better throwing away the cards and crystal ball and just observing what’s right in front of her.
LOL RIGHT
Yea I saw that
she is obviously peer pressured to this wedding and always had been manipulated by her family. I hope she's doing well now :(
They are sold the guys family said they paid for the girl
This made me laugh :D
beatrice didnt really look very into this witchcraft thing and looked unconfortable at every ritual...imagine getting forced to drop out of highschool to practice something you dont even believe in and even having an arranged marriage....bruh
aaand losing your virginity to your cousin if they really went through with it...yikes
cska ma and now because of the divorce, her parents are going to foot the bill of the extravagant party paid for by her aunt and get in loads of debt... I worry how she'll be treated after that
i mean yeah they all seemed well off but half a million euros is a shitload of money...i just wish her the best and to escape the situation somehow
i feel like this was a scam bc at the end they get all the money back but then that other family looks bad in the community
@Khetman of the Zaporozhyan Cossack Host Muslims believe in God. GOD ,THE HOLY FATHER,THE HIGHER POWER THE ONE WHO IS SPOKEN OF IN THE BIBLE. The only difference is they view Jesus Christ as a prophet and do not see him as God's son. The same teachings apply just different holy books, and the Quran says nothing about women having to wear hijabs etc. It's a choice. Women who are forced to wear them has to do with people in power in their area or people who take passages from the holy books out of context.
“I don’t have anything in particular to look forward to” and doesn’t that just sum up the whole child/gypsy marriage experience? The most exciting things to look forward to in their lives are the wedding day (which will actually be exhausting & painful lugging around that enormous heavy dress, then the wedding night... 😳) and having children. That’s it. At least I guess she’s a witch, so that does give her an outside focus to concentrate on 🤷♀️ Not even properly educated, so does she get to read books? Do art? Have hobbies she can enjoy? My heart breaks for these girls
Honestly, Beatrice is like Miss Universe material.
She's extremely beautiful. Gypsy girls are very beautiful as a whole
Take of the makeup then
Wtf? She looks like a man

So interesting, thanks Vice, so much material here for further journalism.
I think the Priests helped her, when she rejected the kiss she looked the Priests in his eyes. She also kept looking at the priest like save me.
Poor girl. It's not like Anthony is the devil in flesh and bones, but when you don't love a man you just don't feel like it. Fortunately, they managed to break up.
The bride put her arm as a barrier to block the groom’s playful approach to kiss her cheek. Sad.
