    Glad to know this build is working so well! I have the exact same HP on the way :) planning on making similar upgrades.

    Just bought this PC and I'm going to use it as a Plex Media Server and wanted to do the same build with the Storage. Amazing, thank you!

      Yeah it's perfect for Plex, and with the gtx1050 it also handles transcoding to other devices without any issues.

    9010 was Ivy Bridge, 9020 is Haswell, but as you know it is not as roomy as HP. I can also recommend fujitsu Esprimo e920, nice haswell machine too, with expandability options and six sata ports onboard. It is hosting ws2019 for two years now down in my lab den.

      PS. Imho anything older than Haswell is waste of money on electricity unless you are looking for heating appliance 😁

      I think I reused the screws that were originally holding in one of the hard drives, it isn't actually screwed into the chassis as there are little channels that it slides into. As it's constantly powered on inside my tv cabinet I would need to disconnect everything to pull it out and check

    I have one of these laying around. I stuck a spare 240GB SSD and am waiting on 3 x 4GB DDR3-1600 sticks to bring the max RAM up to 16GB. I tested a Xeon e3-1271 v3 in it and works fine and intend on maybe putting a low profile GTX 1650 in as well. Any idea on how to lock the quadcore turbo as "fixed" so it always runs at the max quadcore turbo speed? I tried Intel XTU and Throttlestop but cannot seem to get it to set the CPU.

    • @Sawickipedia
      @Sawickipedia  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like a beast! I can't help you with locking the turbo speed, but hopefully someone else has done a similar thing before?

    • @Voidsworn
      @Voidsworn 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Sawickipedia Thanks. Yeah, don't know. These HP machines are pretty locked down. I have my main desktop running the Xeon locked at its max quadcore turbo speed (3.8GHz), but it is a consumer board with the option to run the core ratio/speed as "fixed". Not sure if having the HP just run the CPU as is would really hurt it and it is likely a machine I will sell as an entry level gaming machine anyway.

    Hi there, for some reason I can't get more then 2 HDD's working on this machine. In the bios it just shows 2 drives even though I disconnected the dvd drive and plugged those cables into the 3rd hdd. In disk management i can see the 3rd disk but it's offline and won't go online. Am i missing anything into bios options to get 3 hdds working?

    Hi i too have the HP ProDesk 600 G1 SFF. Mine has a Core i5-4570 3.20ghz + 8gb (4x2gb) Samsung ddr3 ram. Currently i have the stock 500gb hdd + a 8tb hdd (shucked from seagate backup plus hub).
    1. Can i also use the stock slim dvd drive and add a 1tb sata ssd?
    2.Has an extra could i add the Zotac GT710 2gb (19w tpd)? Or something a little better?
    I want ideally for the pc to have 1 ssd for the os and 2x 8tb hdd for data management/backup. Slim drive to rip my disc collection.
    As for gaming the pc by itself is strong enough to run games like Fallout 3/Fallout New Vegas at ultra high by default but the games cannot reach gameplay because of the Intel HD gpu (incompatibility). So i really just need a gpu to launch the games the PC is more than enough for them.
    Thanks!

    • @Sawickipedia
      @Sawickipedia  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should be able to run 2 8tb HDDs, plus the SSD and the optical drive no problem.
      Also on the video card, pretty much anything that comes in a half height should be fine as they generally require less power than their full height counterparts
