- In the comedy POST GRAD, Ryden Malby (Alexis Bledel, GILMORE GIRLS) graduates from college and is forced to move back into her childhood home with her eccentric family, while she attempts to find a job, the right guy, and just a hint of where her life is headed.

But seeing “Rory” unsuccessful is just about right. GG ending was such a disappointment. Would much rather have seen Rory killing it out in the world.

I love the story idea of this movie. Usually movies end with the graduation and "happily ever after." But this movie shows that finding a job after a degree is not so easy.

"Everyone say overpriced education!" That may be the best movie line I've ever heard. Just because of that, I *need* to see this movie.
That's what they should have said summer before freshman year and entered a trade.
I don't care what any of the critics said, this movie is so cute! I loved it! It was the classic feel good movie, but has serious and moving parts in it that wrap it all together in one big great hug of an awesome movie! (Plus Adam, her best friend, is the one who loves her, not the other way around like ti usually is. Good twist.)

chisin4eva Pretty good! Still 1 semester to go because I scored myself a great semester-long internship at a government library (I'm in library science). It was so good, in fact, that I'm actually considering applying for jobs at government & academic libraries in the future and not just public ones :)

This movie was so disappointing. I'm sorry but her best friend knew she only had platonic feelings for him but waited around, expecting here to eventually fall in love and when she doesnt he blames her, calls her obsessed and drops the entire friendship like it didnt even matter because she wont date him?! And then he is the victim and she drops everything to be with him after having zero romantic feelings for him the entire time? I liked the family but that storyline is so disappointing💀

i don't know about everyone else, but i am beyond excited for this. it looks like a really cute story, definitely some good looking male costars, and ALEXIS BLEDEL. i'm excited to see her play a character farther from lena and closer to rory, because she will KILL it! post grad FTW :]

Currently on my senior college year and only 6 mos. away from graduating and I'm feeling scared as fuck. This feels is terrible! :(
Try not to freak out. :) I recommend applying for jobs before you graduate, depending on what you want to do. I got lucky and managed to land a good job in an international teaching program just one month before graduation and felt great to graduate with employment ahead of me. Obviously, you're busy, but make time for searching. Good luck to you!

Chloe94169 Depends on your major and what you plan to do with it. Unless you have a clear course in mind humanities doesn't get you a lot of jobs - I took English as my Major because my ultimate goal is Library Sciences (which I start in January! Grad school! Aaaah!). Another friend took English because she~s going into Education, and another into Journalism. The basic Bachelor of Arts doesn~t get you a lot of options these days like it did 100 years ago.
definitely seems like a timely movie. i graduated w/ good grades from a decent school and good work experience last year, didnt find any sort of job until 5 months after graduation. I feel really bad for my friends that graduated this May. just a tough time.
only advice I can give is to reach out to everyone you know, it took 5 months but eventually got my job through a personal connection.

I am a post grad myself and I learned in silly freshman year how to research a company before going on an interview (consult its general ledger files, find out its market position, etc).
Only a high school kid would prepare for an interview by sheer memorization of dumb lines. Any graduate - even undergraduate - student has the important skills of critical thinking, reflective thinking and researching to make sure he won't embarrass himself in any situation.
I don't like the way Hollywood movies distort reality.

@Daniela199122 I disagree not about the movie but about Alexis, sure she gets type-casted sometimes. I think that's due to her looks and to Gilmore Girls. The Good Guy would be a 4th in your list, I guess. But she has done different stuff. In I'm Reed Fish she played a check-out girl, marrying at a young age. She played a hooker in Sin City. In the Kate Logan affair she played a mentally unstable cop. These movies just weren't blockbusters. I adore Alexis and wish she would get more movie parts.

Definitely a chick flick comedy, but very realistic and funny without being exploitive. Love to see Michael Keaton in that role of her dad, so that's a plus as well. Hope it gets lots at the box office
