    BTW, those Yageo 0.47Ω are discontinued and nobody seems to make a small 1/4w low resistance fusible resistor no more. 😵

    Nice repair job and a nice squeaky-clean Dreamcast! Always great to see an old machine lovingly brought back to full working condition. :)

    I have an issue with my controller board, I have replaced to fuse but its still not registering the controllers. The VMU beeps on power up. If anyone knows what this could be I would be eternally grateful.

    Hey SegaHolic. I noticed that the controller when plugging it in feels wobbly so when i try using it, it doesn't work but if i hold up the plug at point where it is in the port it works. It's like it's loose inside the port and holding it up gives it the contact it needs to work. Any work around to this other than putting something under the controller port to keep it up so that it can make its contact?

    • @The_SegaHolic

      You should spray some quick dry cleaner like this from Walmart
      www.walmart.com/ip/CRC-Electronic-Cleaner-Quick-Dry-for-Sensitive-Electronics-11-oz/16817418
      If that don't work, try to see if it's the port on the DC or plug on the controller is the problem.
      Do a visual inspection of the port or plug. Sometimes, a pin that's supposed to stick out a bit is bent flat and needs to be reshaped.

    was good segaholic jus saw this pop up in the feed i wonder if this problem happens with xbox as well .. i been working on 2 controllers and notice one has weak low signal left analog issues , while the other control has constant force applied to right trigger for no apparent reason

    • @The_SegaHolic

      Glad you subbed! 🤙 You mean for the controller themselves or the controller port?

      @@The_SegaHolic i did a cleanup and rechecked it it the controllers themselves now i have to figure out whats causing imaginary constant pressure to the right trigger and on the other weak signal / movement reading of left analog stick

    • @The_SegaHolic
      @The_SegaHolic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try bending the pin headers a little toward the front of the console. like a millimeter. If that doesn't work, I'm wondering now if it's the old battery that the system is trying to charge and it's pulling more amps... just a guess. Maybe just desolder the old battery and leave it off, and test if that resolves the issue.

    • @sega-re-trop-vieux

    What de-soldering gun and solder gun are you using?

    • @The_SegaHolic
      @The_SegaHolic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Desoldering gun is from Circuit Specialists but discontinued. I suggest getting the Hakko from Amazon JP. www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/gp/product/B0795CPL8F/ which is about $180 shipped compared to $300 for the US version. Iron is a Hakko FX-600 JP version. But I suggest getting a T12 clone station.
