Dude I love the humanization element, the heartening of Godzilla and human connection. Godzilla's like, "This is who I am now. I may have saved you once, but that was a thing I am no any longer. I'm am now a terrible beast. A tragedy thrust angrily upon the world that humanity has created. And you, too, are you human, Shindo. And I cannot spare you."
Shindo's like, "I understand, and this is a death I've longed for. This is a death devised of honor."
That was pretty good. 😢😭
@@alphagojira5647 yes a fate most befitting on Mother Earth , humanity, and of course the king of the monsters himself... bravo Akira and Toho, bravo
I always saw it as, "so this is what you've become human? Begone!"
Shindo wanted to die. He felt shame and guilt knowing that his success, and by extension, the success of Japan, was at the cost of the dinosaur’s life. Knowing that his savior became Godzilla rather than simply dying was the final straw for him. He felt terrible guilt for the fate his savior had suffered, and wanted to pay his debt. Godzilla, seen visibly crying in this scene, was reluctant to kill the only other creature who had ever cared about him. But Shindo wanted it this way, so Godzilla grants his one and only friend this final request.
Yes, he wanted to die and Godzilla do this
Well he has anguirus so Godzilla isn't completely alone without a friend he still has his best friend
@@Buffalo872 there is no heisei angurius 😢😪😭
@@Badblood226 well anguirus is still a Godzilla character that exists and anguirus may still exist in the heisei era just off screen
The sad part about Godzilla: He lost his innocence.
He did. He did.
And I'm sure that Godzilla JR reminded him of the innocence he once had.
Maybe that's why he protected him at any cost
@@Minillusthat would be deep 😢

Sure it is. We can't really say that's what happened, but it's heavily implied to
I don't care what anybody thinks, I saw the moisture in Godzilla's eyes. Out of all the buildings around him, Godzilla sensed a tiny presence he remembered and wanted to see again.
“The brave warrior falls,
How will he be remembered?
The poets decide.”
Heisei godzilla had to be the one who has the saddest back stories.
He never wanted to kill shindo as he had memories of saving him when he was a mere dinosaur. And shown visibly crying as shindo wants to die with his nod just absolutely depressing...
Nice profile picture
It's as if shindo is asking Godzilla to free him from his memories of the war and Godzilla is hesitant to do so.
You’re right. And I understand Godzilla. He was hesitant in killing one of the people who cared for him but he granted his old friend his request
Despite the numerous issues with this movie (mostly stemming from its baffling time travel logic, or lack there-of), this part of the movie; the relationship between Shindo and Godzilla, was truly fantastic.
My heart will sink if this plays in Godzilla: KOTM
Nope, sorry but it was never played once in any way
It Will In My Remake
Goodbye old friend
The only Heisei score music that was played in the movie was the Requiem from GvD, if I recall correctly.
Shindo: Good to see you, Godzilla.
Godzilla: You. (Roar)
Shindo: You do remember that time. I have no other ways to save you. Even though I try to find and make contact for help, I will never make it on time. I am sorry that I could not save you.
(Shindo thought back of Godzilla who is wound)
(Godzilla thought back of Shindo sadness very painful)
Godzilla: You did what you could. There is nothing you can do. But........
(Shindo saw Godzilla's tears)
Godzilla: I cannot.
Shindo: Please. My time is over.
Godzilla: (Roar)
(Godzilla destroy Shindo as he was told.)
This very exchange was done without words.
This song is one of the saddest songs I have heard in the Godzilla franchise yet it relates also to many sad and tragic events in my life and I am now 35 and have seen my fair share of tragedy.
I remember as a little boy watching this and it having such a deep meaning but that song stayed in my head forever next to the ending song of Son of Godzilla which made me cry as a kid. My Dad always wondered why I cried, I told him as an adult it was the cinematics and the music, the power of film is so great where it has the power to make those happy and bring tears to one's eyes.
This song is one of Akira Ifukube's
finest works, next to Requiem in Godzilla vs Destroyah.
Saddest scene in the movie
But 1989 saddest

Shindo wanted to die, but seeing what his old friend and the monster that saved his life has become made him deeply sad, Godzilla was reluctant to kill the man who saluted him for saving his garrison but after Shindo nodded, Godzilla granted him his wish
Even after everything, Shindo still saw him as what he was and godzilla knew that
One of the best scenes in any godzilla movie .
makes me cry every single time
Un gran lazo de honor como
Guerreros samurái
Que el veterano quiere morir con honor a manos de godzilla
Eso sí es muy honorable y muy triste y épico
😭😭😭😭😭
Arguably the finest scene in the whole history of the series (author of "The Sons of Godzilla.")
唯一この時のゴジラは新堂会長含む仲間たちがゴジラザウルスと共闘した個体と涙を流した怪獣王
RIP Kenpachiro Satsuma and Yoshio Suchio
Shindo and dieasaster theme Pokémon armada season 19 episode 81
Really nice remake of one of the best tracks in Daimajin (which was also scored by Akira Ifukube)
This scene made me very upset.
He is still not dead he is in Godzilla’s heart it was a sacrifice to Godzilla becoming a hero to raise jr and when Godzilla died he let him be free
the great thing about this scene is that is very up for interpretaion what exactly godzilla is thinking
So true! What do you think he's thinking? I think Godzilla is remembering being abandoned. Even though Shindo is remorseful about not being able to carry him, Godzilla is still slighted. He would be left for dead and finally irradiated. He would burn. That anger left a scar.
@@giganfan997 i've leaned on something like that yeah, though in my mind godzilla was not blaming him for it, somehow he acknowledged shindos wish to die by his hand as penance
Ojalá ese tema lo pongan en el monsterverse
Sería muy épico verlo de cerca a godzilla ❤️❤️❤️
El tema de la leyenda
Akira ifukube en el monsterverse
Que el monsterverse pongan los temas clásicos de toho.
Who disliked i will find them
DinoNico do it!!!

Everyone decide now, which track hits you most, Mr. Shindo and Godzilla or Who Will Know ????
Farewell To The Dinosaur (original name of this track), clearly. Who Will Know is a tragic piece, but this track conveys SO MUCH MORE emotion between multiple characters, and it does so without a single lyric being uttered.
True
Normies acting like “Goodbye, Old Friend” had the most emotional weight, when it doesn’t even come close to either of these two songs, let alone “Requiem” from _Godzilla vs Destroyah._
Its like Mr. Shindo was thinking "I know what you want to do. Do it already."
Ojalá los temas del legendario
Akira ifukube
And he noded to Goji to finaly end his misery and nightmares once and for all. And goji obliged even thou it was not the same one from his past. That yell prior to the attack? Was more Griefing than anything from goji. The IJA soldiers payed the ultimate tribute to him when he was dieing prior to the nuke evolving him, and that he sensed. So when his "friend" basicaly ASKED to be killed Goji did it.
Godzilla: The Racist Lizard no Human Force Can Destroy
