    From my point of view:
    Self-interest, in the broader sense, includes the desire to remove the felt uneasiness that comes with feeling sympathy.
    Meaning that someone who does not feel sympathy will have no incentive to help anyone else (and will therefore never do it), unless they expect a reward in return (in the form of goods, increased reputation or status, removal of an expected punishment etc.).
    On the other hand, someone who does feel sympathy will also not help anyone else unless they expect to receive a reward. However, this reward can come in the same forms as with someone who does not feel sympathy *as well as* in the form of relief from the uneasiness felt from being aware that someone needs help.

      Totally Free from fear, anxiety, sorrow, loneliness, and contradictions.
      Totally Free from jealousy, envy, greed, possessiveness, ambition, competitiveness, and attachments.
      Totally Free from hatred, conflict, and violence.
      Totally Free from bias and prejudice.
      Totally Free from the I, the me, the self.
      Communicating, Communing, Connecting, with everyone and everything.
      Being the very embodiment of Love, Peace, Joy, and Creativity in each and every moment of daily life.
      One for All and All for One...and Oneness does not mean sameness

      order is based on rules.
      Order is not.
      order has hierarchy.
      Order does not.
      order is rooted in authority.
      Order is not.
      Do Jacob's Ladder and set yourself Totally Free of fear, anxiety, sorrow, suffering, confusion, loneliness, envy, greed, jealousy, pride, self-importance, hatred, violence, attachments, addictions, bias, and prejudice in daily life, once and for all, now and forever. There is no reason why you need waste another day trapped in the Matrix of self-deceptions.
