    Those cheapie mini chainsaws are awesome, especially for lopping branches and cutting up the waste.
    I've got one that is very similar to yours and another that is smaller.
    I always use my petrol chainsaws for anything over 6 inches though.
    Cheers!

      Yes I agree mate, the bigger ones I cut I would have used my petrol saw which I had with me, I just wanted to test if it would do it all with the batteries. Will be great now for work up in trees and for logging smaller stuff for the fire. Cheers 👍

    I recently bought one. I love it! Now I don’t have to wait for my husband to use the big chainsaw and I was shocked at how well it cut larger trees!

      @thevegplot  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hi korey, on the bigger logs it takes longer to cut than a petrol saw would but much easier to use also without the noise. I think its much safer for smaller branches than my petrol as you have a free hand. Cheers. 👍

    I use a Stihl pole saw but it needs sharpening regularly it's pretty good but I now use a silky pole saw which is very good for a hand saw and almost as quick. The little saw looks good but the chain will need sharpening soon, I bet. 👌👍

      @@nickthegardener.1120 I used the husq pole saws and clippers a few years back at a place I worked, the weight and force needed to use it at length really takes a toll after a short time, I stopped using them in favour of ladders. 😁 Yes it's going to need sharpening at some point nick but chain must be of decent quality as it was cutting just as well when I finished. Don't know about you but I can never get a chain to cut as well after sharpening as the factory finish it came with. When I was using the saws alot I bought the grinder sharpener that does a better job but still never as good as a new chain. Cheers.

      @thevegplot You get a spare chain which is great. I need a vice to sharpen my chain and if it's blunt on a job that's it for me until I sharpen it and yes I can't sharpen that well certainly not as good as a new chain.👌👍😁

    Parents have a Macallister version, which has a smaller blade than the one you used there, but it’s been mighty impressive with the added bonus of sharing a battery with my water butt pump. I must post some video of the pump, that’s turned out to be really good. Obviously limited in power but I reckon from memory it will pump a 200l water butt dry in around 20 minutes. (I just checked and the through rate is claimed as 1900 litres ph but I’m not sure about that). Works well for shifting water around my plot from the butts by the shed to the other end 25 m away.

    • @thevegplot
      @thevegplot  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Hi Paul yes be interested to see the pump I'm seriously thinking of setting up some drip irrigation pipe to water the potato beds this year, prob run them off the big IBC thank. It might stop blight taking over if we get another bad year by not wetting the stems and leaves if water is needed. Cheers

    Very impressive cut from that little chainsaw. I also am used to petrol chainsaws and how awkward they can be to use safely. This electric saw seems so much easier and safer! Can I ask you what video editing software you use?

    Did you know what branches etc to cut to promote tree growth? I'm a novice so I wouldn't know where to start?

    • @thevegplot
      @thevegplot  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@Plottogether37B not an easy one to answer as it depends on the tree type you want to prune, basically cutting any branch leads to the branch putting out new growth beneath the cut. Cutting to the trunk prevents that for instance on a fruit tree where you want to open up the centre of the tree for light and air. Cheers.
