Thanks for the video. I've been using Spyderco's Sharpmaker but, of course, the angle isn't right for Emersons. I prop up the base till I find the angle after marking edge with Sharpie. I like your Lansky method though, think I'll order one. Less complicated and easy to touch up in the field.
Good video. My favorite part is when you said you weren't going to totally clean it because it is a user knife, as it should be, Emerson's like to get dirty.
Actually with the copper impregnated nylatron washers....they shouldn't be oiled. That just draws dirt and gram to the washers. Just an FYI. If someone had and old Emerson and oiled it like that I would advice them to go to the hardware store and pick some up ......they get smoother and smoother with no oil believe it or not.👍
Really good video!!! BUT its not chisel ground :) Alot of people call emersons chisel but only a few are real chisel ground. Your is a V grind with the main edge on one side. The blade is still a v grind. A chisel grind is totally flat on one side like the bulldog, socfk or version of the cqc7. Nice job on the video always good to see other peoples sharpening perspective
I think it's always better to either hold the blade on the table flat or have it installed on the handle that way you will be able to keep the angle consistent, just a tip. You obviously know what you are doing though. Good video for those who struggle.

Jimmy Kimber Thanks brother. I definitely appreciate the information.
V-grind primary but does have a chisel grind secondary bevel. The actual cutting edge bevel is only ground on one side, even on the V-grind knives.

My easiest pieces to sharpen - 7bw and Super7. Nothing to it. Good video.
What angle did you use

Appreciate the view. I can always be better. Appreciate the tip.
