You are amazing, ALL of you!! Thank YOU! Honestly... It was such a shock to hear Scoutcrafte mention me. Had no idea he even knew I existed. I am deeply honored! Will return the favor, my friend. Thank you.
Great episode, and wow did the light fixture come out nice! That was most likely in a bathroom and I bet ya it was hairspray all over it. Nice job sir!
Hi Scout 👋...just an idea for that chip on your light shade. I have had luck with using a fine diamond file like EZE-LAP 3-1/4" x 1/4" Diamond Round Sharpener in Brass Handle (sorry...text copied from Amazon) to "frost" glass chip. The rounded nose of this file gives great control to remain within the margins of the chip. Thanks again as as always, have a happy day!
I got 1 out of 3 this week. I knew that Jack was coming to the basement. I'm thrilled others have found out how amazing Flitz is. Someday I'll share my story of finding it in 1984, and I still have half a tube because it doesn't take much to work. #flitzit
Greetings from Spain! Hi, John, just sending a few words to let you know how much I love and appreciate your channel and I look to each episode. Best wishes, Johnny, Norwegian living in Spain. Take care ☺️
Like the light, it came out beautiful, enjoyed the tutorial on the cleaning methods for the chrome. Then you came to the tube of FLITZ, I bet Chuck at 357 Magdad was giving that the ole eye ball. Thanks for the video, enjoyed watching.
Every time you show us the poor man's flea market, I'm amazed at the stuff that New Yorkers throw away. Here in Missouri, all that stuff would be on Facebook Marketplace to be sold!
Just out of curiosity, have you seen any of the new people moving in? 44 years ago my wife and I were the new youngsters on the block. Now we’ve been here the longest and we’re starting to see some younger newlyweds with one or two children moving in. The neighborhood hasn’t changed much. Block parties every summer and a master list of everyone passed out. Most don’t mind to be on the list and there’s no pressure. You be you. I’ve been called upon a few times to help nail a fence board back in place or some such thing. We pass around a list of known good tradesmen that have done good work. Nice neighborhood and neighbors.
Tony- What a beautiful site that must be. Here in the city you rarely see the new neighbors and quite often there are many people moving into the dwelling few speaking English and many different people coming and going.
@@ScoutCrafter I’m in a suburb of Chicago. Not too far of the city. I visit my family (brother and sister who never married) in the house I grew up in. That neighborhood has changed very much. Getting more dangerous and most people don’t even acknowledge a hello. Sad what’s become of it. I wish you good luck. But this is an aside. Your channel gives me great pleasure and I’m thankful for people like you and your subscribers. I’ve learned a lot. Thanks.
Great video 👍 That Poor Man’s Flea Market is Gold! 🟨 So much great stuff out there. That scale was cool, I believe that one could run about $150 bucks new. I wonder if that painting 🖼 was a Picasso? 💰😆 That vintage trunk was real nice ,it looked all original inside, that was cool. I thought for sure you would bring that mini palm tree 🌴 home 🏡. That Chrome 💡light fixture was a awesome find👍. Great information and demonstration on the clean up and polish of that awesome chrome light fixture 👍. You did a fantastic job with that Light fixture!👍🔥I thought you would bring that jack home 😆. It was cool to see that 3/4” craftsman Ratcheting wrench 🔧 in action, jacking up that jack👍. Great to see you got it cleaned up and working properly again. Also glad you wasn’t stingy with the 50-50.😂Again great job! Another great shot of Old Glory 🇺🇸 flying in the breeze with that beautiful sky. Well again great video and can’t wait to see what you do on Friday. Have a great evening. 😄👍👍
That light fixture turned out wonderfully. I believe you could something out of a landfill and turning it into a treasure anyone would want. You have an amazing talent. Thanks! 😃👍
Stuart I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and weight of this piece, often today as you know fixtures are thin gauge, poorly plated cheap pieces that aren’t made to last. I bet this fixture was pretty expensive when purchased. 😃👍
Always interested in different cleaning agents that America has got that we can access over her in Oz. The lights came out pretty smick 👌🏻 another great show. 👍🏻🇦🇺
Awesome.. love the Flitz .. play my way to try it on one of my projects...357 mag dad gave me a sample.... I thought you were going to take the jack. Or the wine fridge.. I knew you were going to take one of the lights... Stay safe John .
My sisters had those dolls with the eyes that opened and closed, I wonder how they worked. Another great video, always interesting, inspiring and humorous. As always thanks for your time and knowledge.
That was a quick 17 min... I see the dark side of S.C. is coming out when you grabbed that doll..lol.. Its hard to tell the condition sometimes when watching videos on your phone, but I would have grabbed that trunk... I remember seeing a trunk at an antique sale and the inside was lined with old newspaper that had yellowed from age and slightly torn, but the date on the newspaper was Nov 1865.. If I had the money I would have purchased it.. S.C. thx for bringing us along on another great video... Take care...
That is an excellent light fixture! I’m glad you grabbed the doll. It looks like an American Girl Biddy Baby. My daughter has one. They were pretty expensive.
I bought a quart of Flitz! That jack is pretty cool. I found one similar but bigger for $2 at a flea market. I have yet to use it but I keep it in a special place for the day I will need it.
Wow, John, you were spoilt for choice there, I did wonder about the lighting and the jack, but dismissed the jack as too ordinary. The light fitting came out great, thanks for the advice on cleaning and polishing, that sure is a classic design and the Flitz did a great job on the chrome. My daughter had a doll that looked just like that one and she used to take it everywhere, hanging by the same arm, we had to repair it a number of times where the stitching came loose, it's still here somewhere !
As a garbologist that first stop with the trunk & frames looked like an awesome for a little garbology. When I was working, I would use that type of scissor jack to tweak heavy electrical equipment into place. It made the job much easier. I love your poor mans flea market segments. We'll done👍🏻🇺🇲
The lamp looks like new! I have Flitz too and I learned about watching 357 Magdad and works really well on my tools that I am restoring but the finish on the chrome was incredible. Thanks for sharing this.
The light bar cleanup is great. If the people who tossed it could see it now, they would want it back. Thank you for the tip about the slot to accommodate the unit body seam. I learned something new. A cartridge reloader hobbiest would like the scale. I would be afraid to open the garbage bags too. It might be too depressing to see the nice things that were headed to the dump.
Pat- I know that there was some awesome stuff in those bags, especially the ones by the Gray house under contract. I just don’t want to go down that slippery slope or I might get sucked into being that guy with a shopping cart and long hair with a dirty hat. 😂😂😂

My mother had that dual outlet light fixture at 17:05 in her home in Napa California. The house was only 425 square feet and was built in 1925. My grandmother originally bought the house in 1948 for $8,000. I have one item that use to be part of the house. A four plug electrical outlet. The two outlets on the right were for 110 voltage and the two on the left were marked antenna and ground.

Thanks for the memory reminder, Scout.
Are those compact bulbs in that fixture those weird ones that were supposed to get bright quicker? In reality they got round the slow warm up time of the fluorescent tube by putting an incandescent element inside the bulb too both to provide better instant light and also to more quickly heat up the tube so it in turn got to full brightness faster.
Matthew- Not these bulbs but I have a couple of the bulbs you mentioned, they were compact fluorescent with a small halogen timed bulb. When the switch was thrown the halogen gave instant light, after a minute when the compact fluorescent came to full brightness the halogen would cut off! 😃👍
