For your multimeter try cleaning where your probes plug into machine and other one is just change out or replace your probes, the radio shack multimeter is the best out there just the probe wires break down over time from usage, I use to have one and used it to many times in a day going from mechanical to working on radios, but stay away from the meters from princess auto with the power fist brand cause the displays always craps out just after a couple of uses ! And p.a. will give you greif about them crapping out so fast
