All the beaver I have caught over the years I still get excited to see a flat tail floating, but those otter tails are a new level of excitement. Nice catch.
Great idea on the 90° bend on the rebar to lock the connibear down,THANKS!!! I'd bet your next check is going to be a good one. Those were some awesome areas you set and should be high percentage spots for a catch. Up here in Iowa I'm still hammering the Beaver and Otters. But the snow and cold is making certain areas almost impossible to set without a half hours work chopping ice out. GOOD LUCK and THANKS for the videos!!! Be safe and Tight Chains!!!
You sure are ot there putting in the effort brother! Loved the otter I just had otter tracks going through my line today! Good luck with everything my friend!
At 19:44 that trail coming from the main channel. I'd stick a 330 as close to the main channel as possible and put a tall stick in front of it about a foot as it goes into the trail , that has castor lure on top. Like stick the end of the stick into the jar and get a good bit on it. I used to trap beavers in beaver side channels like this. One time I had to use cement blocks to help stabilize and block the sides of the channel off, was almost solid rock bottom. Also had a KB stabilizer. In the side channel I was able to get a stick into some bottom and put castor on the top. Had a 40 pound beaver next day. I call this my hillbilly set lol. I have a pic of the catch. The blocks were nearby in a pile of junk. That place was fun to trap.
Yea areas like this are fun for sure. That run you are speaking of would be a great spot. especially with them already having mounds they are using there. Tomorrow's video you will see why I didn't set it. There is a duck blind on the edge of the lake 20 feet where it goes into the lake. I don't want to interfere with those hunters. may get back after duck season and get it set. will see what I pick up with the other sets,
question for ya ?will a 220 work for beaver .i only have 1ea 330 an a 10ea 220's, and i need to take some beaver out of my creek an lake ..congrats on the otter an beaver, good dog also cant wait til tomorrows check ..feel like im rite there with you running the line thank you so much
220's will work. You will want to blend it in well and may have some refusals to go through from some of the bigger ones. Some of the big ones may try pushing over the top of them. If that's what I had I wouldn't let it keep me from setting a line. Good luck to you.
@@AnArkansasTrapper okay that's what I will do set the 220s an put out some #4 4 coil on drowning rebar on the caster mounds.i have saw 8 beaver at one time late afternoon.. again Thank you for the help
Not sure about 220 for beaver unless it's a Belisle lol. If they try to climb over and fire it on their back leg and the trap is staked well, you will have a beaver waiting for you. I had 1 do this with a 280, and it was back leg caught and still there. But had almost gotten my stake out. 220 are great for otters though.
@@canislatrans8285 I agree, not the best choice but if it's all I had and did not want to invest in 330's I wouldn't let it keep me from getting after them.
Where in Arkansas? I’m in Virginia so no poaching! I just came through there on 40 to Little Rock then south to el dorado Beautiful state in spite of the Clinton’s!

They are definitely fun to catch. Got several more sets out today. I am hoping to have some more before long.
Oh yes, otter tails are the best lol.
Great day can't wait for the next check video

Thanks. finally getting a longer line in and picking a few up.
nice otter .
Not a bad day.
That new beaver set location looks promising
Not at all. Got it set yesterday and another new area today. Should have some good catches in the days to come.
Love mixed bag days.

Man its tough to beat Otter Trapping
They are for sure fun to get after.
@An Arkansas Trapper oh yeah. I love otter trapping
What’s the biggest beaver you’ve trapped?
I weigh very few of them. I think the biggest I have got was 72. Several in the upper 60's.
