Thanks for the how-to. Pleasantly surprised it was this easy to replace. Very similar to my old 135, but definitely not the cluster-F that was my old Jaguar XE.
Thanks Dan for taking the time to post this video. It was very simple to understand with no un-needed conversation. To others posting DYI, just show us how to do things and save the commentary as no one cares. Oh yea, turn up your microphone volume so we hear you. Take a lesson from Dan who nailed it.
Thank you. I'm looking for the part numbers for the soft plastic flap and the sliding plastic filter hold down. Any chance you have these part numbers? Thank you.
Hi Eric, Go to this website and look under the HVAC category for your year and trim, and you'll find the parts. www.gaudinporscheparts.com/v-2008-porsche-911--carrera-s--3-8l-h6-gas/hvac--filters. If you are unsure, call Gaudin's parts department, and they will confirm the part numbers for you. Good Luck!
On my 07 Carerra S there is also a latch on the driver's side of the air box. Just unlatch it. It's hard to see since it's under plastic coverings. I also have a small diameter black tube or wire that goes right across the front of the filter box from the bottom wire loom up into the cowling. I noticed your car doesn't have this. It's a lot easier without that tube. I'm not sure what is for either.
Yes same on mine plus as mine is earlier 997.1 on a 2005 plate filter is held in by metal bracket with 4 torx screws Bit of a tight fit but a bit of prodding and pushing it goes in..... All jokes aside..
Am I seeing this correctly? His AIR FLOW direction arrows are pointing UP- but he SAYS the air flow is 'basically downwards'....? That is opposite of what he just did. He installed it with the airflow direction upwards.
The airflow arrows are actually pointing down, sorry if the focus is not super clear. Essentially go with the "Air Flow" wording being right side up (vs upside down) and you will have your cabin air filter oriented properly. Good Luck.
Ah yes, that bracket, you can see the removal in this video th-cam.com/video/2nZKGMrL4hg/w-d-xo.html. Otherwise, the procedure is the same. My vehicle was an '08 997.1. I see the bracket as being useful if you are running without a hood, but seems like extra work..it does keep the flap firmly in place though. Happy Motoring.

Interesting, the black tube or wire could be for a windshield washer system? I no longer have the car, but glad you were able to figure it out.
