I always found rue the first time but i never did a 'normal' run after the first time so i didnt know About the other dialogue. Rue.... Always makes me cry for some reason.

OneShot is a game that has those subtle changes between runs, things the game remembers previously from characters who are not so bound. Call it a crude comparison but flowey is a prime example of a character who remembers between runs.

With the "Chased Rue" I have seen many people talk to Rue once and that dialog always popped up, but I don't think I have seen someone miss Rue so Niko wouldn't have technically seen Rue so that's pretty neat. I watched so many people play, but yet to start it I just can't aaaaah

... I played maaaany runs before the final solstice update came out so I pretty much knew Rue perfectly well, but I never thought it could be possible to do solstice without knowing her. I honestly didn't even know this was a thing, as I first played OneShot before the solstice update and played through multiple runs to try to talk to Rue more as she was pretty much the only thing constantly changing through multiple playthroughs. I think a lot of the experience for new players is lost without waiting for the solstice update. Waiting to see what was behind that door with the timer was one of the most anticipated things I've ever waited for and it was extremely worth it.
Well, could I do any less for my friends?) Trust me, if I had a penny for each OS secret majority of people are unaware of I could've bought a nice house 3 storeys tall (sigh)

Welcome to the _extended_ family, lol The thing is there are two OneShots: the short 2014 freeware version made for a contest and the 2016 commercial release 2014 version is commonly mistaken for beta which it's not. They even were made with different programs And you can kill Niko only in 2014 version

For me i did 2 normal runs before doing the true run, The first was returning the sun, but i felt really bed leaving niko there, then i did another run making niko return back home, still i felt really bad then i finally did solstice
@@UnknownArt_K I did not feek guilty putting the sun back because I felt as if Niko wanted this, If we knew that niko would get hurt if we put the sun back then I would have never, but that part was vague, not to mention Niko promised that she will be okay and a good child like herself will keep her promise right?

OneShot is my favorite game of all time (with Hollow Knight) and I never knew you could have optional dialogues if you do the game multiple times. It sadly also shows how underrated this hidden gem is :(
There's also a dialogue change the first time you ask Rue about the others if you've interacted with Alula's plush fox. I know this because I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do in the mines my first NG+ run lol

I figured there would be such a thing, just one more prompt that might exist that you might have missed. Is there new dialogue with Cedric if you know Rue's name?
This was a thing for me, because i was an idiot. I did not know how to start the solstice run. I did not open the glowing diary while standing on the clover, so i thought i was supposed to do a normal run once again. Then i noticed the clover bed, that, as Entity has said, sends you to the beginning. Out of curiosity, i tried it, and of course, it did what Entity said. Then, i did the same again, except this time i went to Rue, and he said that i should come back later. And that's when i understood, why the bed existed at all, and this really ruined the game for me. I heard all the same dialogue and went through all the same puzzles, just to… do that again. This time i had to search for a walkthrough, so i won't repeat my mistake. Because of that, i hated Solstice. But, after i've finished it, i can say, that… i don't even know. Solstice really feels… fan-made. I don't know if i should accept the Solstice as it is, or should i forget about it and be left with the save the world/Niko ending, or be happy, because Solstice gave me a *good* ending, where eveyone is alive and well, and it is considered canon after all.

I was thinking about making a _Rue% speedrun route_ but I cant decide if I will go for taming or all dialogue. There is like _a little difference_ in 1 run worth of time. But good thing is that I will go through the Tower only _once_ .

After completing the first run, the second one (ng+) is different and has more content (solstice, rue taming etc). After you beat solstice all ng+ content is gone except for the big penguin room.

Finish 1st run. Go the same route in the 2nd run. You can repeat the process as many time as you like. Even after beating Solstice. For players who came into community from someones letsplays this fact is simply mindblowing because these people do only 2 runs and ng+ isnt entertaining enough to go through so they rush to Solstice every time.
Solstice is an _optional route_ that opens on the second run (on ng+) You're free to go first run route on ng+ or after beating Solstice (memory run). And *there is no limit* to amount of runs you can make. Except memory mode prohibits you from going through Solstice the second time (thats all it does aside from skin change)
I... did not know this was a thing. The 'main' journey ends up lasting for two runs for most people.
For me it was like twelve journeys before realising that RPGMakerXP is a thing I totally could be using.

This is like Undertale but instead of multiple timelines, these 3 characters are being programmed, maining "tamed", into their unaccesable files.

Password puzzle replaces remote puzzle in ng+ to tease the true ending but the true ending is entirely optional

just leave the mines, ur not forced to do glowing book stuff and even after that u can say "turn back" to silver while in minecart
