That little rasp in the voice at 2:28 is magical. Lots of male artists in the loosely-defined genre of Southern Gothic have that but this is the first female artist I've found since Janis that absolutely nails it (open to suggestions if I'm missing someone!). Jade is the best possible mix of British and Southern rock. The blues riff at 2:43 is pretty much all the resume you need to kick in the door. Looking forward to more of her stuff!
I had the pleasure to meet her before a show at the Magic Bag in Ferndale, MI 10/03/18. She was sitting out back by herself playing with her phone a couple of hours before the gig. She was very sweet and let me get a picture with her.
