How do I miss great artists for years on TH-cam? Larkin Poe is incredible. I can't get enough! Real songs, real musical skills, real melodies, real harmonies
Saw a bit of an interview with you 2. Larkin Poe was your great granddad and he was related to Edgar. Loved your “Mad as a hatter”. You2 give us old guys hope .
@@samnobody8926 I agree, but many of their songs are actually catchy enough to have been hit singles if given the airplay. Having said that, the charts are full of inane, formulaic rubbish, as the masses are easily pleased.
Saw them in Bellingham a couple weeks ago. They walked on stage and rocked the house. Not just pretty faces (yes very) but very talented musicians. They gained 1500 new fans that night. It was just the two sisters, but that was plenty. They came out later with Elvis and fit like a glove with him. At intermission they shook hands in the lobby. Seemed very down to earth. They are violin prodigies from a young age. Been touring Europe for 5 years. If you get a chance go see them. Lots of good stuff on TH-cam.
I showed this to my 10 year-old daughter who currently plays percussion in the elementary school band. She is thinking about giving it up because there are too many boys in the percussion section. I wanted her to see how awesome girls can be if you stick with it. She loved it! I also recorded the Conan performance (it was past her bedtime!) for her to see. I have a feeling she is going to keep it up. May you inspire a whole new wave of empowered little girls to grab some instruments and rock it out!
Don't shit on music you don't like. "vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion." is real music.
I saw them live recently and their dynamic stage presence stole the show. But, what really stood out to me was their duets -- the quality and blending of their voices is remarkable. It shows in this video.
These sisters can sing.... play their instruments..... write their songs..... and they wear clothes. They don't have a chance in the pure shit music industry.
Finally. Song writers who are coming up with melody and harmonic progressions instead of the usual wailing singers try to pass off as music. I love it!
David Taubner So, no examples. And that percentage you came up with out of nowhere couldn’t be more wrong. I’m not saying anything about Larkin Poe, hell, they rock and are extremely talented, as you said. I do love them. But c’mon, if you have access to the internet, it’s pretty easy to find endless amounts of extremely talented musicians, in any kind of genre. There have always been musical geniuses, but it was harder in the past for them to show their art to the world. Nowadays, it’s gotten easier, and I invite you to explore the web and find mindblowing musicians regarding any style, from “classical” (academic) interpreters and composers, to rock, jazz, funk, blues, hip hop, sound engineers and fusions of every culture with every genre. Purists are always saying things like “music is dead”, “rock will never be the same”. I call that nonsense. Yeah, rock hasn’t topped the charts for a long time and probably never will again, but that doesn’t mean a thing, it’s more alive than ever, and it keeps evolving. It happened to “classical”, it happened to jazz. They’re always staying alive and strong with thousands of people dedicating their lives to innovate. If you don’t like what they play on the radio, just don’t listen to it. But don’t you dare discredit tens of thousands of geniuses saying that 99% of singers and songwriters are phonies. Even a lot of pop artists are talented as heck. And, if you don’t believe me, look for Vulpeck’s concert at Madison Square Garden: Funk band, sold out the place last year, no manager, no record company. These talented artists are no exceptions, like people think, they’re the big fat bottom of the iceberg, being the 99% themselves, but with technology it’s quite easy to find and support them and enjoy their art.
@@MrSchivy Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift and everyone who sounds like them. No melody. No musical content. But please. Go troll someone else. If you're lonely and desperate for someone to talk to, find a dating site.
My take: Larkin Poe are two beautiful Ladies who took their childhood pains and turned them into bad ass blues, rock and soul music that I truly enjoy...Well done...girls
Just heard this fantastic band are playing Behind The Castle Music Festival in Dorset on 13th June. Was there last year - I reckon it's the perfect place to catch them.
No matter what venue the two of you apear in you always impress. I've been listing to music for over 60 years played in a few bands myself and am very impressed. The two of you take me back to the 60's -70's when their was still not just energy in the music, but real joy in a craft extremely done. Keep on rocking and bluesin girls. For a little different twist check out The Cactus Blossoms they like you are siblings but with an Everly Brothers/country swing sound. Also on youtube latest is track called Mississippi
Wow! this is on my memory lane today. 8 years ago since i stumbled on this music video here on youtube and it became a favorite of mine after hearing it, for a time. I almost forgot this cool piece existed. Glad I still memorize it! ❤️❤️❤️
When I first heard this I thought, "Hey! ABBA!" I'm 70 years old, but I still have a fondness for the layered vocals of ABBA. Now I'm curious about the other material on the Kin album.

The most talented sisters in rock since Heart
You should also look up Von Grey!
Or Kate and Anna McGarrigle
@@Hugh_Jas I did and thank you

I just can't say enough good things about them. Seen them live (with Bob Segar). That was all it took. Fan for life, here.
This is the type of song I want to hear in the top 40
this is clearly NOT a top 40's band and thats good

Awesome Sound! Great Video!
Saw Larkin Poe live last night in St. Louis. They were PHENOMENAL! Can't wait to see them again.
These girls are awesome they have a great sound good rhythm great lyrics and they're both beautiful they will go along way in the music world!
This is what happens when great musicians make a pop song. Terrific
These ladies are no accident... they are a gift! I love it when the stars line up ....
I've lost track as to how many times I've watched this video. I just love this song.

both of them with the violin?
Damn, that was good!! Loved the harmonies! You ladies rock! Long live Larkin Poe!!

Awesome! Try showing her Wild Flag too if you haven't already. The drummer in there is a fantastic lady percussionist.
SkoveDog better show her Savages.

I hope she stuck with it i was a drummer in high school and still play
Always need more women in music.
a great grrrrrl drummer for her to watch is Meytal Cohen (sp?) I met a friend of hers in Mexico and told me about her. Hope she stays with music.
this kicks ass. A great song and harmonies like only two sisters can do it.
Years ago this was my first experience with Larkin Poe. These ladies are epic and I have all their music. Rock on ladies!
The ABBA of Blues !
oh look! REAL music!
Bloody right.

Love when the Georgia accent shines in your songs. I always found Nashville accents contrived. Great job!
Can't wait to see Larkin Poe at Springing the Blues Festival April 6th in Jacksonville Beach Florida...
I saw them live recently and their dynamic stage presence stole the show. But, what really stood out to me was their duets -- the quality and blending of their voices is remarkable. It shows in this video.
Why this wasn't a huge hit is beyond my comprehension.
And mine.
Definitely glad I saw them on Conan. Wow, killed the vocal harmonies and that slide guitar.
I can't get enough of this.
As Lovell Sisters you cut a ballad of mine in 2007...you have come a long long way...love it..
Please get to Houston for a show Ladies!!! We need some Larkin Poe!!!!
I can’t play this video anymore because I can’t get the tune out of my head. Thanks a lot Megan and Rebecca
2 sisters one lissinig man......... im hooked on larkin poe amazing musik
American music is not Dead!!!
Still lovin' the harmony vocals. My favorite slide playing and so versatile on resonator. Wow :)
Another new band that I really like...
Keep going.
Don't quit, like The Strypes did. Keep going.
We need MORE bands like you guys.
Cheers.
Very talented band. THIS IS A GREAT TOP 40 GROVE without the big label influences. Keep up the exceptional work
Heard this song in the background at my gym for months, looked them up....I'm sold.
I listen and watch every day and marvel at the sheer talent and skill and love they have for what they do it’s awesome so very amazing
This is definitely a number 1 hit. What's wrong with the music industry?

this is old school bluesy rock. god this is good to hear in this day and age
These girls really don't need a production like this because they have the raw talent! But it's good!👍
These two are great.
Really cool video by Rebecca and Megan. I really like them, they are very talented and of course are two really good looking Southern girls.
