It’s absolutely beautiful on you . The red really suits you ❤️ . If you let out the darts a little at the back , that should release a little room for you .

Geraldine Gorman ahh I’m so glad that you found it helpful! The sizing really confuses me in some of the patterns and when I first started I had so many fails due to picking the wrong size and it can be really off putting! I’m still learning a lot about sizing and the ease but I’m getting there 😁 X

Looks lovely, so pretty on you and yes a great fit.... and like others said around the waist steel a little from several seams/darts if you find you aren’t wearing it due to that...but it looks amazing on you... great make and love your reviews and agree it will be a versatile piece that you can dress up or down💕

So cute Michelle! Enjoyed your review, and your top is quite flattering on you. The lovely color and that adorable sweetheart neckline. When you sew it again, the front is probably pulling a little fabric from the back and you might try adding a little bit at the side seams next time you make this, or if there are darts in the back make the darts a little narrower and that will give you a little extra room also. I am also participating in the challenge, and so glad that Claire did this, because now I am finding new vloggers! Like yourself.

Picketystich life is sew creative thanks! This is my first Gertie pattern as I wasn’t sure if I could pull off that style of too and after this I will be sure to try out some more of hers! 😍 x
I have her ultimate dress book, you not only get lots of patterns but the information and how to make adjustments is really good. I think you can get them brand new off amazon. The patterns are designed so that you can mix and match the bodices with different skirts as well.

Thanks for that review! And thanks for telling me about the Vlog hop! Like you, I bought only 1 metre bits of fabric when I started... quite often I don’t need nearly what is on the package though. Your fabric is perfect for that top!

Yeah you should! 😁 I must admit I really enjoyed the whole process and I felt like I learned a lot too! I just need to nail the fit and I’ll be making loads of these I think x
You could let out the seams at the back 0.5" each side - and the your have a full inch more at the back. It looks absolutely adorable

Yes! it would probably be really good in a stretch cotton or sateen 😁 it’s trying to get the balance of being fitted but not too tight or too loose. The stretch would probably be really good for that great idea 👍 x

The top is awesome and only one yard its a winner
It fits well and I think that you could add another half inch on the back seam would be fine if you need to

How phenomenal: a 1 metre pattern?!? And one that looks THAT good?!? That's a unicorn for sure! Looks lovely, but I see what you mean about the back. If you do decide to let out the darts, as suggested below, it'd be so cool to see that process of adjusting...I'm still very much a beginner and learning how to adjust already made clothes seems like a useful bit of knowledge. Thanks!

Thank you 😊 I still need to work on the fit ever so slightly but I am super pleased with it! Yeah I love the zip it was so strange putting it in upside down but it makes perfect sense to do it that way 😁 x
Hi Michelle, your top is gorgeous! I love the fabric and the pattern. You sew so well too! If you want a bit more ease in the bottom half, id go up a size (or half a size) in front and back lowers pieces. The back fabric is being pulled by the front, so if you size up at sides that will help it to relax. Hope this helps. Thanks for taking part in the challenge x

Haya. Your top is just gorgeous especially in the red, the anchor buttons add that little touch of zing. I definitely want to make this pattern (not sure if I have it or not in my collection) been eying it up for a while. You made me laugh about your bust size, 1 min you were a 36" then a 34" then back to a 36", haha. Very glamorous on you. Haha 😂 I have seen it but haven’t bought it........yet. I’m currently trying to cut down on fabric purchases as I am overflowing in fabrics so need to get sewing my stash! As soon as there are some room for fabric then that may have to be an addition to the collection 😁💕 X

Kim H not sure? I don’t know if you need it at the back for the space to get it on over your shoulders 🤔 I don’t think there would be enough room if it was at the side xx
