6:25 the difference between a normal weapon and a projectile is they don't damage you when there is an enemy with spikes. Which is why you don't get damaged when using an archer build
Maybe the "magic force" that you use is an extension of your self? Which would mean that when you hit the with magic you are just basically punching them but in a more versatile way? This is just me spitballing improbable reasons for why using a magic staff that shoots bolts of lightning at spiky bois hurt you.
6:15 Lightning being a projectile makes it so it doesn't trigger damage from spikes. Good for balancing reasons, as otherwise it results in 100% unavoidable spikes damage.

Yeah. The game is still free to play and will remain so. Their Kickstarter ended last night for the "paid for" version of the game. Backers get a key for the Steam version which will be the full game.

I just got to floor 25 with a Keg build. Absolutely busted. The whole point is that 2/3 of the drinks give you energy. I actually had fairly weak eco, but I made sure to use the shops to sell as much as I could early to build a big stash of coins. I only had the gold bow as income and damage source, the rest was seasoning, relics, artifacts and space for the consumables and drinks from the Keg. I didn't see a single piggy-bank the whole run, I used berserk ring (+1 energy if you have no shield or armor), so I went with a max hp seasoning build. My healer luck was below avarage, the one time you want tons of them for max hp you get none lol. In the end the only way I could die was getting one-shot or running out of gold. I had 360 gold going into floor 9 and I ran out of gold in floor 25, I'd say that went pretty well. Definitely recommended.
the key sword is also a key in and of itself, so you could've kept it to use it immediately ... not that you really needed it with so many keys, but worth keeping in mind
I took one look at your build and chuckled a bit, because I found a very similar, but a bit better build of a shield that gives haste, archangel armor for more haste, the same wand and sword, fewer mana stones (I wouldn't go below enough to store 6 mana), ancient tome, whet stone, lucky dagger, and then just so I can heal, 2 seasoning, old log, and "my first wand", and 6 bricks. I discarded the bricks for more space and immediately died
Man, the shield build with a few cleavers and the tusk sounds insane. Cleavers activate the Fox Rapier to add to shielding, and everything gets +5 damage per use. It would just be a race to outrun spike damage.
Keep in mind that if you can kill cowardly enemies first without taking damage, it’s probably good to do that because of the potential xp you lose when they leave (except summons)
Ah Yes! I had a similar build the other day, but I got the coral as my second relic. I decided to take it to the infinite levels, but got slapped with 13 slow and that just about killed me. It was good fun though. I had about +200 spikes a turn
There exists that relic where if you block with a shield, adjacent weapons get used. For the longest time i considered that relic trash until i realized it worked on poison arrows. The negatives of the relic cease to matter on poison arrows since its poison damage, not weapon damage. It also removes the need for a bow to fire the arrows, allowing you to organize your bag in weird ways normally not possible.
I've only played 1 run of this game so far, but it was fun. Totally blind, but ended up going a dark whetstone build with a pretty solid armorset, and tons of shivs. Was basically invincible but only started to run into trouble once poison enemies got too stronger. 20 free armor every turn + 7 weak that continues to grow each turn lol.

had a somewhat similar build today where i found 2 armor that give 2 haste per turn, and crimson thorns (giving your shields spikes and the more you use per that shield per turn the more spikes it gives) eventually could reach good enough energy count thanks to the keg and an excess of money that i could build 500+ spikes per turn but i died to poison near around floor 17 because the snakes dont attack you directly
One of the new updates will release new characters who play differently. I believe the first one is a character who has a smaller backpack, but in return has pets that have their own backpack space and abilities
Things I’d totally expect them to add: -Phantom items that act as empty space in combat -arrow that is destroyed on use -item or curse that changes gravity to make light and heavy items move
Shield build with the gein spike on using shield, but dot like fire and poison will destroy you late game since they don't proc spikes and poison attacks are applied and not attacking. I also had the gem that gives spikes on shield use. I got like 60-70 spikes per turn.
I finally succumbed to the temptation to play this game on itch instead of waiting for the steam release, and I was super excited to donate to their kickstarter only to find it ended today. Disappointed now, but the game is just as fun as it looks.
If you put the gold shield next to the fox sword and dumped the buckler, then it would have activated 2 shields and then activated the gold sheild triggering 3 more.
This run could have been insane with shield spirit. That, plus taking haste when it was offered rather than spikes, and you could probably have got 4 or 5 loops out of this
The white energy token wasn’t pulling its weight. The space it took up a required would’ve been better spent on mana stones and space for generated energy tokens from the wand. That’s my opinion anyway.
Cleansing Rag is a 1x1 accessory that removes 1 Poison from self when using an adjacent weapon. Gives purpose to all those items giving poison to both the enemies and yourself.
I had a build where I had a STUPID amount of block and it kept scaling, it was using multiple haste bands and the relic that made it so shields use weapons next to it, so at first got a bunch of block but after killing an enemy it would start to scale very quickly most shield I got using the build was in the 300s and had around 23 spikes too bad my weapon damage got worse over time and got killed by the large amount of spikes and damage from the final boss, it's really rough when he has like 40 spikes, rage and shit ton of regen :(
At 18:01 it means get a rare item and receive a curse not trade a curse for a rare item, also it would have been good for you to take said curse because of the legendary item you had just picked up
I got coral on the first boss on the run I also found a Hercule pavise. Found a pacifists ring too, decided to throw out my weapons. Well, in endless mode I went to the swamp, and fought the Speaker that does nothing but summon things, most of which either apply dodge to allies, or weak/slow to you. All I could do was block, but the slow meant it never gave me any, but they couldn't attack me either. I managed to get to 200 slow, 200 weak, and 1600 spikes before I decided to call it quits.

@@SilverFoxeGames is scratch affected by weakness? Because 3 - 200 is still no damage. Also, the boss alone had 4700 health. Best to just start a new run
It's a fun build but get tje little shield thing that triggers all weapons next to shields with the vampire dagger you can heal up to 18+ dmg I'm stuck on round 3 in endless I think the living shadows are just to overpowered with the 4 space curse you can get rid of that needs fixed
I had 1 poison potion and 2 double poison potions, and clicking the regular poison potion gave the enemy 8 poison (idk where the extra 2 came from) and i clicked both double poison potions and the enemy had 32 poison, but was at 24 HP, so as soon as I ended my turn, the enemy instantly died
one i got to the stage 3 finale with a key sword + herb build. sadly i died to the final boss because there were 3 enemies and i didnt have enough max hp to heal

Hey Tyler just to let you know, the binary-speaking glitch/predator event gives you a rare/legendary item AND a curse, not trade.
He also had an item to remove the curse as well, so that was an easy free item .

Honestly we just need more consumables that remove status effects from ourselves, maybe a common that removes only poison and another for only flame

well it is possible to get to floor 150 using only a block build and the sword that grows after each kill
Any creature that gives slow also kills it too. I got slapped with 27 slow and well, yeah no amount of coral spikes is gonna solve that

Small thing to note: at 18:00 , it's not a trade, you get both a rare item AND a curse, can be a fun gamble if you're in a stable position

Before the lightning bolt was a projectile, you would always take spike damage from all enemies at the start of your turn from it.

I got a run with two hercule shields and haste and the coral. I got 999 Block every turn and over 2000 spikes. I died of poison on floor 15

The 7 block shield that removes spikes + regen is better. Mirror shield is ideal, but Knights Shield works.

Since Lightning is used each turn it would hit enemies with spikes and deal damage to you. Now as a projectile spikes won’t activate on lightning.
keyblade can be used just like regular key to open doors but it also has one use and will perish
