    It is so worth it. I have long arms and still a great deal. However you did it, best way. Take your time and no rush installing it. Also, do not keep to the torque required for the 4 bolts. I also recommends to apply a layer of tape on the cluster clear screen or tape a wash cloth before pushing the panel up and out. It will prevent scratching it !!!!!

    Did install today. Dropped a bolt on right side, but it didn’t fall far ( Thank the Lord)!! At the point, of cutting cover with dremel tool tomorrow.

      Wasn’t too hard right?. I keep a small magnet grabber I got from harbor freight handy to get bolts when they drop in bike.

      @@PrivateCitizen1214 wasn’t really hard at all. Hardest part is getting a dremel tool to cut plastic cover. Glad I had a magnet tool to get dropped bolt . Thx again

      You didn’t have to adjust any wiring or cables correct?

      No not at all.

    At beginning, what pins are you removing? Also you didn’t have to trim cover?

    • @PrivateCitizen1214
      @PrivateCitizen1214  ปีที่แล้ว

      First two pins I removed hold top shelter to black inner fairing piece. No you don’t “have” to trim the cover, some leave it off ‘cause it’s mostly covered.

    The Fred Harmon video shows raising the front catch that the control panel fastens to. This is supposed to give clearance for the handlebars to move. Did you make the adjustment? Have you noticed any binding or rubbing, if you didn't?

    • @PrivateCitizen1214
      @PrivateCitizen1214  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Happy New Year. Yes I noticed slight/light rub marks, didn’t feel any issues with turning the bars at all riding or otherwise. After noticing the rub I did do the adjustment and it clears now but not by a lot (maybe 1/8” or less)

    • @dray439
      @dray439 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PrivateCitizen1214 Thanks for the reply. Another video, from the manufacture, shows they were not aware of the rubbing, until those that had installed them contacted them. They then posted an additional video, advising to make the adjustment.

    Just got my TCMT risers, are these the same thickness of the Helibar risers?

    • @PrivateCitizen1214
      @PrivateCitizen1214  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can’t say for sure. If you go to the hellibar site they’ll tell you how thick their plate is I think. I do know if it’s TCMT was any thicker it would not fit

  • @ckholiness
    @ckholiness ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Did you cut and re-install cover?

    • @PrivateCitizen1214
      @PrivateCitizen1214  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, used a template I found online somewhere after searching for handlebar riser online. Printed taped it on top then cut along the line

  • @ckholiness
    @ckholiness ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How are the risers now that you’ve had them for +yrs?

    • @PrivateCitizen1214
      @PrivateCitizen1214  ปีที่แล้ว

      Still happy with them. I do see rub marks on the rubber covers from brushing against the underside of the “center button console”. Would be better if used stainless screws or better coated black screws starting to see slight rust on them. Also I have not any issue with screws loosening on their own etc. it’s still solid feeling. I guess I could just buy a couple stainless replacements from the store. Definitely would do again/keep.

    It is a very useful video. I have ordered the same TCMT riser from eBay and thinking of doing it myself. However, I've also watched other videos for Helibars riser installation. They cut the upper plastic cover to fit the wires, and screw it back. It will be definitely better for preventing dust and water. What do you think and will you do the same?

    • @PrivateCitizen1214
      @PrivateCitizen1214  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Kevin, and yes I looked at same videos, wasn’t sure if it would be OK to post that part being a competitor company. I printed the template from online installation instructions. I had to print a couple times to get right scale (made sure two holes in cover matched ones in template) then cut to fit and install. Looks great and like you say keeps dust off. Please be careful when removing the “console” it’s a little tricky.

    Mr Citizen do you remember where you got the Ram ball mount on your left handlebar? Is that GW specific or universal?

    I just did this today and am usually super meticulous and careful. I left those 2 bolts loose under the plastic and said....I'll get my magnet in a minute. Forgot about them and went to take the center console off and slid it forward as I saw so many others do, pulled up and BROKE the tab AND forgot about the 2 bolts and they spilled somewhere in the bike never to be seen again.
    Terrible day. Broke the tab and can't find the 2 bolts, no idea what size they are. I looked on some Honda parts diagrams for them but it's unclear. Sad, sad, sad.

      😢 I feel your pain! Stuff like that happened to me plenty. Can try a magnet on a stick but if you can’t see where they are …. 🤷🏾‍♂️ “stay center console 64511-MKC-A00”, just the clip is 90666-SDA-A01, and two screws are “screw special (5x11) 90114-KPH-700. Confirm before buying in case I type o the part numbers. Let me know how you make out

      @txman951 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PrivateCitizen1214 WOW, you are so incredibly helpful! I searched those diagrams and had no luck. That bolt looks like the one! The clip I'm not sure, I can't find a pic but what I broke is the part on the back of the console the clip snaps into. It's a square hole. I researched online about bonding plastics and regular JB Weld is supposed to work well so I've tried that and let it sit overnight. Thank you so much. Subscribed.

    • @PrivateCitizen1214
      @PrivateCitizen1214  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      … not so much the raise, more so the moving rearward. I was skeptical too and honestly I could still ride without but it does make it more comfy position and helps from licking front brake by accident when backing up with mirror folded and bars turned
