When I got into film photography I asked around my family before buying a camera. Turns out my uncle had a Minolta maxxum 7000 sitting in a closet with expired film and a 50mm 1.7 lens. It was everything I needed to get started and now that he’s passed away it holds a special place and is something I could never get rid of

My fave film camera is my favorite for sentimental reasons, as are some of your choices! My grandfather gave me his old Nikon F when I started shooting film my freshman year of college. I've recently started processing film rolls of his that have sat in a box undisturbed and undeveloped for nearly 55 years! It's amazing to see images he can't even remember taking and knowing that I now shoot with the same camera.

I love the lady who said that a waist level viewfinder teaches you to see the world differently.
I first used a Rolleicord tlr when I was 16 years old in 1961.
    I use a 1957 Yashica Mat now.
    Brighter viewfinder than the Rolleicords.
I love that Rolleiflex 66 with those Schneider lenses.
I also carry an Olympus Af1 Infinity with the super sharp 35mm f2. 8 lens.

You guys at CineStill are doing an amazing job with your videos! There's a lot to learn from them and all so fun.
My favourite camera so far is the Nikon FM2, I'm so in love with it that I bought a lot of of lenses for it in the past year. All I'm missing is shooting some of your film with it here in my country, Bolivia!

My favorite camera is the Olympus OM1 that I got as a graduation gift in 1976. I still have it and it works great! I have the 50mm f1.4, 50mm f3.5 Macro with extension tube for 1:1 Macro shots. Also I have the 100mm f2.8 for portraiture, a 28mm and 24mm f2.8 for landscapes and a 300 f4.5 I use for sports and whatever. SO MUCH FUN to use and the images are SHARP! I even use these lenses on my Sony A9 and the results are Fantastic!

Great to hear all the perspectives.
My favorite film camera (& the one I will never give up) is the Canon AE-1 Program. The camera was used by my father in film school & gifted to me when I was 8 years old. It was the first film camera I ever used and I know that thing like the back of my hand.
I shoot mostly medium format these days on the RZ67, but the AE-1 P has a forever place in my heart.

love the video, quite a diverse range of favourites, I have Autism, and my favourite is the Linhof Technika series 4x5/5x7" cameras, they are compact, as they fold up for transport, have movements, a coupled rangefinder (cams under the focus track), an anatomical grip to hold them, and I love the back screen, is on a ring, so changing orientations is a snap, and the flip-out hoods are a great idea to save you if you forgot the focus cloth. one other thing it has a medieval crest/sheild style logo, and the history of all the models.

This was such a great clip, the enthusiasm of the team really shows!
My favourite camera is the Nikon F3HP, it's simple, reliable and it has a light meter (which I need because I know better than to trust my best judgement). The heft of it and the satisfying shutter sound makes it feel like an event to take a picture with it and that really helps me stay in the moment.
As far as 120 goes I was lucky enough to pick up a Mamiya 645 1000S in great condition, I'm still learning how to make the most of it, but that camera really helps slow down my process and stay focused.

I always enjoy these sort of videos. It's good to see a wide range of film cameras, and people genuinely happy to use them. Mamiya and/or Leica aren't the only companies that have made some really great cameras. That being said, however, I have really enjoyed my Mamiya 645 a lot more than anticipated. From it's portability to it's ground glass, it's currently my favorite.

Nikon N80, my first film camera, I am still learning how to use it. I fell in love with film, the anticipation of how the photos turn out, going to my local film store, the community, and the feel of something real compared to digital. It really makes it a process that has been a great calming experience.

Interesting to see what everyone uses. For me, it’s the Olympus OM-2. I like Zuiko lenses, and since I’m used to shooting aperture priority with digital, it was easy to switch back to the OM-2 to shoot film with aperture priority. Plus the camera has a great tactile quality to it.

Hi, I’ve just come across your channel and absolutely loving it. I have two favourite film cameras the first is strangely my very first camera which I got at the age of 9 back in 1976 . This is a Voigtlander vito B which I love using and helped me understand exposure having to use sunny 16.
The second is a little more up to date and it’s the Canon T90. I just feel so at one with this camera it becomes a part of me

I love film cameras, and the favourite one I ever used was the Leica R4 MOT What an amazing piece of technology, and the lenses made people think that you were using medium format, they were so sharp and contrasty. My current favorite is a Zeiss Ikon Contessa from the 50's that I recently found kinda hidden in an antique shop. It was in fantastic condition but affordable. Congratulations on the 10k! I recently started film photography as my new hobby so it’s nice to follow along with your new videos this year. So, my favorite camera automatically becomes my first camera, Canon II2 rangefinder camera, gifted from my grandparent. It may be a Bernack Leica "copy" but it's a solid camera, and I can get more nice lenses in the future. I’m also interested in trying out medium format after watching your videos: Hasselblad, Pentacon 6, or/and Pentax 67 (of course ;)).

My personal favourite camera is the Mamiya m645, it's a compact medium format system camera with brilliant lenses (especially the 35mm f/3.5 wide-angle) that can be taken everywhere and customised to every situation.

Super cool video! Right now my favorite is my Mamiya 645. Medium format makes me think harder about my shots since there is less space on each roll, and I love scanning the big negatives it makes it so much easier and the quality is perfect!

I loved this video! I’m big fan of linus’s projects
My favorite film camera is Canon A-1. It's a slr camera, so I can see exactly what I'm shooting. I like that the functions are intuitive and easy to use. And the black body is really COOL.

My favorite film-camera is the Canon A-1.
My dad gave it to me, after I got back into photography. The start of it all, was the Helios 44 lens I found on my grandpa's old camera. I used that on digital for a while, before getting the urge to shoot film. Now the A-1 with the helios are my absolute favorite setup, and I come back to them no matter what gear I try out.

Great video, nice to see everyone's favourites! Of all my film cameras I'm still in love with my mamiya 645 pro TL. Medium format is always my go to format and this specific one has never disappointed.

I love my little Rollei35! Always there when I need it, plus it's helped me shoot faster. Learning to estimate exposure and zone focusing have proven their value on the Rollie and those skills transfer across all cameras

This is such a cool video! It's nice to see what you guys are using!
My favourite film camera got to be my first film camera, Minolta X300 1.7 50mm lens! It looks & feels great, its been a reliable travel companion!
I hav an interchangeable lens 24-35mm for wide angle shots and would usually bring both around!

Fantastic video as always! Hate to be that guy but it's the Nikon F3P for me. Its super tough as I tend to pound on it and it never fails me. It's just a pleasure to shoot and I think about shooting it all day long.

My favorite film camera is my Minolta CLE with a 40mm f2. I bought it Japan and it makes me appreciate with film photography. My dad use to let me shoot on its Yashica F-something when I was young. This one too is special to me.

Recently started with film by purchasing an olympus point and shoot and taking baby steps so thinking about my favorites canon A1 or Nikon f3 for 35mm and for 120 the expensive Pentax's and Mamiya's 6x7❤️

My ultimate favourite camera to use is my Yashica-Mat TLR! I bought it for around $100 at a camera market 10 years ago and I've been using it since! I love the 6x6 ratio and nothing else comes close to the waist level viewfinder. Congrats on 10k!!!

What a cool crew to work with! It's so hard to decide, but my favorite film camera is probably the Olympus OM-4. It's so compact, and the multi-spot metering is absolutely mind-boggling-it's hard to use anything else after you get used to it!

OM-4 very quickly becomes a very intuitive camera to use.

    Bronica ETRS 40, 75 and 150mm lenses.
    Canon AL-1 with 50mm f/1.4
And for point and shoot, I am testing the Minolta AFZ 35mm f/2.8 ( Ricoh GR3 comparison test at the moment)
But right now, today, if I could only use one, it would be the Canon AL-1.
A really underrated body that when coupled with the FD 50mm f/1.4 is for me a pleasure to use all day.
I wish you all well and great video.

The Mamiya 6 is my favourite film camera. I've owned mine since 2004, and although it's beaten up, it's fairly reliable. The three lens are just fantastic. When paired with the Mamiya Auto Close-Up Lens, it's a great combination for semi-macro work.

My favorite camera is a Nikon F. Aside from it delivering my artistic vision, I love the history it bears and also the build quality. It’s very comforting to know that I’ll have this camera for a lifetime and can even hand this down to future generations. 🎞🎞🎞📷📷

    Hi folks!
My favorite easy shooter is the baby Exakta, the Exa Ia with the Zeiss Jena Biotar 2/ 58 lens!
But overall for fun and ease…. I love my East German Praktica Super TL, with it’s classic Meyer-Optik Oreston 1.8, 50mm lens ….. phenomenal results with a simple fun camera!
Thanks for sharing your faves …. Some really cool stuff!

Mine is my Pentax K1000. It was loaned to me for my 1st film photography class over 20 years ago by a classmate that never returned to class. I also shoot a Canon AE-1 but find myself constantly taking my Pentax instead. Great video and thanks for sharing.

My favorite would most likely be my Pentacon sixTL, I've had so much fun with that camera and the lenses are wonderful to use. Shooting 120 Cinestill 800T is always a pleasure on it.

What a joy to watch with a wide range of amazing cameras and some fantastic images! I have two cameras I use more than any other, my Rolleiflex f/2.8e and my Nikon F2. Linus, when you said your Pentax feels like an extension of you, that's how I feel with my F2. My main lens is my 50mm f/1.4 which is on the camera at least 90% of the time. I also have the 105mm f/2.5 and the Lomography daguerreotype f/2.9 art lens when I'm trying to be really fancy.

My favorite film camera as of now is the canon AE-1, ik it's a basic choice and most of the people who shoot film has used it at least once. But apart from my grandfather Fujica ST705 this camera taught me everything I know about film and about photography, I also love the variety of lenses you can find. It's my ride or die.
