I remember this show... watched it every day on KXTX-39 in Dallas, TX (this was about 15 years before the station became a Telemundo affiliate). This show was paired with the short-lived syndicated version of "$ale Of The Century" on that station.
Northern California-- apparently aired on KOFY (then KTZO) in San Francisco, KOVR in Sacramento (then ABC, now CBS), and KNTV (then ABC for Monterey, now NBC for San Francisco) over there, my neck of the woods.
WAVE 3 in Louisville carried the show, along with The $100,000 Name That Tune, The New Treasure Hunt and The $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime, among others.
John W Landry also this was before WJBK’s cable carriage flooded Canada even in Winnipeg in 1986. It was the first Detroit TV station to be on cable in Newfoundland. Many people got to watch it back then because this was from 1985.
This was the updated version of the 1971-72 series 'All About Faces', which was hosted by the late Richard Hayes. David Fein created both shows. Instead of using two celebrity couples who wagered the outcome in each round, they utilized two civilian contestants to earn money for their predictions. Seeing both shows, this was not a bad update. Fred was out of his comfort zone hosting.
Here are the differences between All About Faces and Anything for Money: 1. All About Faces was produced in Toronto whilst Anything for Money was produced at the TAV Celebrity Theater in Hollywood. 2. Both shows were produced by onetime B&E staffer David B. Fein. 3. All About Faces was co-produced by Dan Enright whilst Anything for Money was co-produced by Gary Bernstein and the late Larry Hovis. 4. All About Faces was hosted by Richard Hayes whilst Anything for Money was hosted by the late Fred Travalena. 5. All About Faces was distributed by Screen Gems (now Sony Pictures Television) whilst Anything for Money was distributed by Paramount Television.
I remember seeing this on then-CBS affiliate WJBK-TV2 in Detroit (now a Fox O&O) when it originally aired. KENS-TV5 in San Antonio and WFMY-TV2 in Greensboro, NC are still CBS affiliates to this day.
I have super-fond memories of watching this show as a kid. Can't believe they haven't revived it
That Johnny Gilbert - what an announcer! :)
And RIP Fred Travalena. :(

And I watched it every night on WAVE 3 in Louisville right after Late Night with David Letterman.
I used to watch this show weeknights at 7:30pm on WCAU-TV 10 Philadelphia! RIP Fred Travalena.
And every weeknight at 1:30am on WAVE 3 Louisville!
i remember usa airing repeats of this game show.
2:33, "Tune up your intuition and let's find out if people will do Anything for Money!" That's the official signal to start the game!

I remember that because our CBS affiliate on our cable system in Nova Scotia was WJBK-TV out of Detroit.

Very nice video
Kinda like Candid Camera.
@mrceleb2006, you're right about that WJBK had that game show. I didn't know about that game show until I researched TV programming via Toledo Blade.
this was a candid camera kind of show.
I know it aired on KENS-TV 5 in San Antonio, TX. I'm thinking this show aired on WFMY-2 in Winston-Salem, NC where I used to live.

Just found out that Fred Travalena has passed away. RIP Fred 1942-2009.
I was a contestant on the show. But I never saw my own episode.
@WhatsAYak on WCBS? Also LMAD would come on USA right after that show. It would come on after TANLMAD on KCBS and before J!
A precursor to Street Smarts.
@WhatsAYak and Ironically 15 years later CBS would own Paramount! AFM's Syndicator!
Viacom and CBS re-merged in late 2019, and is now known as Paramount Global.
this show should be revived.
Nice
What is the original airdate for this episode of the program Anything For Money?
In this era, everyone wanted to win money on TV... there was even a game show called _The Buck Stops Here_
Also, is this Johnny Gilbert announcing?
usa has aired this game show but cbn,the family channel, gsn, and buzzr have never aired this game show.
@nextbarker- I think Fred did okay as a host, but I like him better when he does impersonations of famous people. RIP, Fred.
Wow
Another failed game show from Paramount!
