This is fucking incredible, absolutely amazing job I’m so impressed. This eye for detail and level of creativity is a gift, unfortunately I was born without it lol.
I learned a neat trick from a video yesterday on how to keep items from sinking on your ship. After you are done placing everything do a manual save then exit to the main menu, reload the save and then they will no longer sink.
I've always done that at my outposts, but i'll admit I'm still scared to save and reload on my ships after getting the shield and the targeting bugs on my ships in the past
I am really impressed, the work and attention to detail is amazing. I haven't played the game in months, and now after seeing your video, I feel the urge to jump back in and build my own leisure ship with all the bells and whistles. Thank you for the video, and keep up the good work.
Yay! I'm so happy you jumped over to ship interior design! I now use the Chimera as my main ship for my last two 'universes' and love it. Of course I modify it quite a bit. I focused on the captain's hab for my empty hab design and found out about the issue with doors and ladders appearing more frequently than a normal hab. So I put the captain on one of the long arms so there's only one way in and out, through the back end. I find putting in windows is great for removing those awkward walls, giving more light and even more floor space to decorate in. Sticking the captain's hab on an arm like you find in the Chimera or Hyena works well. The other arm has an infirmary on the end, and connects to a 2x2 engine room. The captain's hab connects to a 2x2 living quarters and the 3x1's are now both sleeping quarters with a 2x2 mess hall in the middle to connect everything. Next level up is a 2x2 battle stations and armory. I no longer need to put in a workshop since you can put the workbenches anywhere. The back of the ship has two 1x1 habs stacked up for the single ladder to connect all 3 levels, bridge, battlestations and living area.
nice sounds like a great floor plan to work with! I put a few spacer pieces in to get rid of some exceptionally annoying doors, but the ladders are a force to be reckoned with, they were relentless everytime I tried putting a porthole anywhere, in the end i just had to accept defeat... for now...
Thanks for another video. I reinstalled the game and love Bethesda's building and decorating mechanics. The update is amazing in comparison to release. I also got all hyped about new game plus and burned myself. Your videos will give me the inspiration and instructions I need to make playing the game much more rewarding and fun.
You may have noticed this already since it's been months, but I've found with some of the empty habs, the battle stations especially, NPCs will sometimes stand where a thing would be and do stuff that no longer makes sense. Battle stations are the best example because they will lean on the no-longer-existing navigation console, in the middle of the room. Bothered me so much I put a nav console there, but I'm sure other tables or consoles would have worked. I have seen they will happily use chairs you place in front of consoles, even in places that don't have consoles or chairs in the regular habs. Also they're happy to use any bed anywhere.
I absolutely love this - the captain's suite is exactly how I would imagine it should look like. Almost gives me a more luxury and bigger version of Cpt Archer's quarters on Enterprise NX-01 vibe. I also love how you use the 0s as partition walls. Also the 1x1 bedroom is something I have been mulling about for my next shipbuild
love i t love it love it , soooo detailed and well done, was looking forward to you doing this!!! I have a love hate relationship with these empty habs the spawning of all door and ladders allows for lopping and in some cases better layouts - but in other situations put ladders in places that are just a total nuisance . The sinkings items really are annoying as heck - The 3x3 mess halls are my favorite to use . The kitchen counter is really smart, going to def use that one !! Thank you for sharing !!
I've been lucky with ladders so far (knock on wood), and have largely embraced the door situation. On the one hand it means loosing a lot of wall features, but on the other hand my big ships are so easy to navigate now and I think I love that
Very nicely done. I wish you could build these Habs and then have a passive mode where your crew just lives there and you could watch them using the area.
I'm playing a professor character right now (like Indiana Jones) and am trying to work out a design for a museum/library ship (more "Homestead" musuem than "The Collector's" museum) Definitely plan on using your trick for the library bookshelves, so thanks!!!
I captured a Va'ruun Eulogy to build something like that in at some point, that thing is like a large hab lasagna so it'll take a while to fill up though
I can try, it's actually a ship you can capture called the Chimera, both SysDef and UC Security have them, I mostly just switched the cargo hold out for the empty mess hall, and some of the other habs from Deimos to empty Stroud versions
One way to prevent the ship builder placing an unwanted ladder is to put an equipment plate on top of the lower hab and drop-glitching the top hab onto it.
Nice job. This gives me hope that I can build something close to what's in my head. I need a few special Habs and I'm hopping to see more ship mods now that CK is out. I've designed a few (dozen) asymmetrical ships but I'm never really happy with them from a piloting perspective. So, I'm hopping someone builds an adaptor hab companion way that connects a single wide cockpit to a 2xX hab - basically a triangular shape. I also want Empty versions of all the 1x2 habs done in 1x1, 1x2, 1x3 and 2x3 (long) 3x2(wide). These should be simple since it requires only taking existing empties and classifying them for function and appropriate crew/passenger counts - for a few manufacturers, creating empty versions of existing habs. I'm looking at the available cargo habs that actually have cargo ratings (I like alot) and "TN's Hab Tweaks" mod. I might take a shot at (although I suspect someone will beat me to it, probably by the time I finish writing this). I also love to see more comfort oriented furniture for ships, and a Place Anywhere type mod like we had in FO4. And maybe some smaller framed art to fit into those weird spots on walls.
A Place Anywhere mod is the thing I'd love to see the most. I didn't realize how spoiled I'd gotten with that till I started building in Starfield without it. Not just because of the placement aspects either, but the scaling too, it makes the build process so much smoother and easier
@@MissOPlays no doubt, mods are addictive. I'd love it if you could specify something like Scribed Molding to fill in between say a picture or even a monitor that was placed off the wall which would fill in behind it providing a seamless connection. Also Snap to grid. Even with the smallest setting for Rotation it's really hard to get stuff to line up.

hopefully you'll have better luck post patch. I was having awful crashing issues a while back, like the game would crash every few minutes. the patch before last helped a lot for my game, I'll keep my fingers crossed this one works the same magic for you
Wow! I'm more into ships than outposts, so I'm super excited to see this. Maybe you covered it in a previous video, but how did you get the sink to... er... sink?
what I do is build it onto a wall decor item first, then build the sink onto that. That way the placement is based on the wall decor item instead of the sink so you have a lot more freedom for where you can put it The wide, black trapezium shaped weapon display plaque is my current favorite, thought the paintings tend to be easier to get the sink to place on top of
Love the effort you’ve put into all this👌🏽👌🏽. I have only one question though, where are you from. Because i’m hearing both an English and American accent🤔🤔.

How did you get your lighting to be so good even with all the items in your ship? I did this amount of decorating and everything gets pretty dark in a good majority of places
honestly lighting has been difficult for me too, sometimes it's fine, sometimes the same hab is practically pitch black I recorded the video during a "good period" but it's been a struggle I've found some furniture items seem to cause more problems than others, but havent found a proper solution for it yet
Can you list the total habs you used in this? From the video it seems like only three: 3x2 Empty Mess Hall, 2x1 Captain's Quarters, and the 2x1 Workshop (Not sure which brand)
Trying to remember, the middle floor is all Deimos 1x1, then Stroud empty captain's quarters, regular workshop and Armory, then the main floor is 2 Stroud all in ones, one furnished one empty, furnished Stroud crew station (I think), Empty Stroud mess hall is the big one, not 100% sure of the rest of the habs but it's mostly Stroud with maybe a couple of the original Deimos habs
