Listen now, I'm anti-drug as a former addict now sober many many years! But you guys are exaggerating quite a bit on the street value of the seized drugs. Also, drugs are not consumed only by poor people that steal to obtain the cash or them. A good amount of Working Class People are addicted to opioids including heroin. They work hard for their money! Obviously a great deal of people commit crimes to obtain the money to feed their habit but not everyone fits into that category. Great job on the seizures and arrests. It's a damn shame our country is letting so many illegals in and we are not securing our borders. I just saw this man the other day talking about a triple murder in a small town in that county. The suspect that shot them up lived in that little town of Frostproof. the murder has lived there all of his life. He was free and on the streets of Polk County and Frostproof with 256 felony charges at only 26 years old. He should probably rethink his criticism of California. He asks for tips on TV and on the internet and got hundreds of calls from the residents of Frostproof telling him that T J Higgins was likely the murderer and he was. The very next day he the Sheriff said he was in jail with the murderers along with two witnesses that were with him and watched him kill those three young men. I prayed for their souls and for peace for their families.
The cops can only arrest and bring the subjects in. It is the court system that is responsible to keep them in jail. It is obvious that the cops are doing their job or the dude would not have been arrested with 256 felonies on his record. Think about it.

Sheriff Judd's statement relative to our porous boarders seem to indicate our politicians who give us lax laws relative to our borders, most especially our southern neighbor, are largely to blame for our massive illegal drug problem. I jump with the sheriff 100% and I believe also we need to assign blame where it most certainly lies. With politicians who refuse to recognize the seriousness and tragedy of the drug problem here in the United States and fight the attempt to seal off our border with Mexico. The suspect that shot them up lived in that little town of Frostproof. the murder has lived there all of his life. He was free and on the streets of Polk County and Frostproof with 256 felony charges at only 26 years old. He should probably rethink his criticism of California. He asks for tips on TV and on the internet and got hundreds of calls from the residents of Frostproof telling him that T J Higgins was likely the murderer and he was. The very next day he the Sheriff said he was in jail with the murderers along with two witnesses that were with him and watched him kill those three young men. I prayed for their souls and for peace for their families.
The cops can only arrest and bring the subjects in. It is the court system that is responsible to keep them in jail. It is obvious that the cops are doing their job or the dude would not have been arrested with 256 felonies on his record. Think about it.

Sheriff Judd's statement relative to our porous boarders seem to indicate our politicians who give us lax laws relative to our borders, most especially our southern neighbor, are largely to blame for our massive illegal drug problem. I jump with the sheriff 100% and I believe also we need to assign blame where it most certainly lies. With politicians who refuse to recognize the seriousness and tragedy of the drug problem here in the United States and fight the attempt to seal off our border with Mexico. That fight is criminal as well. Criminal malpractice by our politicians. Some of the same politicians who advocate "de-funding the police". One can only imagine where all those drugs your office seized would be _ on the streets_ absent your offices service to the community. And one can only imagine the other drug related crimes committed as a result of those same drugs being available on the streets with less police resources to deal with it. Would be a very frightening world out there without you ... wouldn't it? Thanks for your service and those in your department. We can sleep better at night knowing your out there protecting us.
