    That's what makes owning a $1000 drone sense. Thanks for sharing.

      Nick Mayer I’m impressed with drones and into wildlife so I’d like to marry these two somehow if I ever own a mavic. These videos are what I was thinking about, getting up there or peeking into nests, wonder if platinum rotors still too loud for that.

    • @NickMayer
      @NickMayer  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably too loud for a nest, would scare them off or stress them out. But yes, nature is divine, and the Mavic brings it that much closer to you.

    You were so Brave to keep it flying! after all the vids I saw where they attack the drone, I would have been paranoid and landing fast!

    • @NickMayer
      @NickMayer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was scared to death! It was one of my first flights and I just didn't move at all other than to rotate.

    Very nice! That has been a good chance for Extreme-Testing the Active-Track-Mode locked on the Bird. ;)

      Marco Eckert damn! That would have been awesome. I'll have to try that next time.

    Try changing your yaw stick settings to get smoother turns

    • @NickMayer
      @NickMayer  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Michael Hogan thought about that once I watched the playback. Usually I can do it smoother, except when I get excited, haha.

      but you wouldn't to shits about the bird being injured? If any bird get visibly upset by my drone, I get it back on the ground ASAP.

    Note to all ppl. I am not a hater, but more a concerned fellow drone pilot. If any bird close in on my drone I go for a landing ASAP. If it looks like it is about to attack I would have crashed my drone rather than have the bird injure it self in the props. The drone can be replaced, a bird injured by props can not.
    But credit to the pilot, the shots were good. But we as drone pilots, have a huge responsibility in not causing harm to others, this include wildlife.

    • @NickMayer
      @NickMayer  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      NORGOONER exactly, which is why I don't move in for closer shots like it other videos I've seen. It's all about being aware and careful. Bird isn't stupid, it's not going to charge something and attack *for no reason*.
